Rules country for 20 years

>Rules country for 20 years
>Country goes to shit under his watch
>Retires
>Shogunate prepares to invade and the defenses he's prepared aren't nearly adequate
>Gets mad at Genichiro for not being able to asspull his way out of the unwinnable situation he's placed him in
What the fuck was his problem? Am I really supposed to like this guy?

>gets mad
He wasn't mad, Genichiro made a contract and he had to honor it after being brought back to life in his prime.

>>Gets mad at Genichiro for not being able to asspull his way out of the unwinnable situation he's placed him in
He disagrees with Genichiro's actions, but he isn't angry with him
He does place every roadblock under the son to stop Genichiro from attaining Kuro's blood, but he's proud of his grandson's tenacity

>He disagrees with Genichiro's actions, but he isn't angry with him
But everything Genichiro does is because he's got handed a lose-lose scenario
>don't accept Kuro's blood, Ashina gets steamrolled by the Interior Ministry
>accept Kuro's blood, Ashina is destroyed by dragonrot
All options lead to failure. What did Isshin even want?

He was literally to old to deal with that shit.

There was no path to victory for Ashina. The Interior Ministry was just too powerful and too large in comparison.

Also the entire experiments with rejuvenating water were a failure, the subject would either die, become insane or get redeyes.

>instead of joining Tokugawa on favourable conditions these asswipes just decided to nuke their own domain in a hopeless last stand
Sasuga

>What did Isshin even want?
To drink monkey booze.
I don't think that Isshin was a complicated dude, what he wanted was for Genichiro to man up and fight off the interior ministry single-handedly like he did, but in lieu of that just put up a good fight.

He wanted him to not fuck with spooky unnatural Japanese mystic magic and its unwanted side effects and defend Ashina in an honorable way. It's like selling your soul to the devil to stop something bad from happening to you. Probably leaves you worse off than if you just let the unification happen, or died with honor defending it.

Does Emma go with Sekiro and the rice girl in the journey to the west ending?

Isshin wished for war until his dying hours
Regardless of victory or failure

Recently just started a Sekiro playthrough because I can only play the Elden Ring playtest so many times.

Question on the new armors, is there a mod/way to unlock them from the get go as opposed to "completing the game"?

>Gets mad at Genichiro for not being able to asspull his way out of the unwinnable situation he's placed him in
He wasn't mad at Genichiro. He was disappointed in him for placing so much credence behind Ashina instead of doing his own thing. Isshin never cared much about Ashina, he just loved to fight.

>What the fuck bro you're not allowed to love your homeland after I raised you up from an orphaned peasant to nobility and placed you in charge of it

Genuine question, how does Fromsoft manage to craft these genuinely engaging stories/lore/world building with virtually no outright story telling.

There's just something engaging about piecing a story together yourself based on your interpretations on the lore. Who is the writer exactly at Fromsoft? Is it Miyazaki?

Part of loving someone is giving them the freedom to make their own mistakes. To be fair, I don't think anyone predicted that Sekiro would cut his way through an entire nation to save his lord.

>Isshin never cared much about Ashina
What a fucking retarded ass take
If he never cared about Ashina or it's people and was nothing more than a battletard, then he should fully be in line with Genichiro's actions
But he knows that using Kuro's blood would be disastrous for Ashina's people. And so he disagrees with Genichiro's actions

If all Isshin cared about was fighting for its own sake, why didn't he count as a Shura?

Image is very cute but it needs the white apes head making the cute face while he craddles it close to his side

Shura is the one who enjoys killing for the sake of killing, Isshin just wanted a good fight.

See He loved fighting
He primarily did it for his own sake
But that was almost never his only justification to fight
If all he ever wanted was to fight, then the 7 spears of Ashina wouldn't exist. He'd have fought alone in the coup 20 years ago
But he wanted victory not just for his sake, but for the sake of Ashina

He's going around as Tengu too, not because he lusts for battle. But because he hates invaders trying to ruin Ashina
Isshin refers to EVERY outsider trying to sneak in as a rat, not just the short cunts

He's pure, basically Goku. Shura is hatred embodied

Likely not, even tho Emma has nothing left in Ashina, just like Sekiro. You know fucking FromSoftware can never give us actual happy endings.
