Unless a key partner is threatened basically.

This seems incredibly naïve to me. They're STILL not seriously competing and by the time they finally figure out the direction the industry is going it'll be too fucking late as usual.

>fuck gaijins only Japanese DNA is superior and we will re-stablish the empire and rule all over Asia with a raping fist

What did they mean by this?

>They're STILL not seriously competing

Because it's not a competition. Their games alone are absolutely destroying competitors in sales and what good would buying fucking Activision or Bungie do to benefit them?

If its not fun why bother?

They should at least do partnerships with close campanies that somehow blocks them from being bought.

They should buy sega.

>They're STILL not seriously competing
Because they don’t have to, any smart business knows competition is for losers. You want to dominate your own specific lane. Nintendo basically has a monopoly on handheld game consoles, they’re the only console that still caters to a family friendly image, and all their top IPs sell at full price for years. Why the FUCK would they give that up to go against Microsoft in a game they can’t win????

Didn't ask

Nintendo has done something very unique, they carved themselves as the "fun and relax" game company, they dont have to outdo the rest since their brands sell themselves and theirs budgets are small for the industry, the whole buy your way to success is not necessary for now. If VR does become as big as some people think, (the current version is basically too daunting and complex for the mainstream market) they might be in trouble, but the WiiU and Gamecube were bad times as well and they wether them very succesfully.

Thank god Nintendo has some fucking sense compared to Microsoft and Sony

Stay mad, tranny.

Translation: We want people who worship us to work for us, not just people who are good at their jobs

They are calling their competition genetically inferior lmao.
Based fascist Japanese.

This is the difference between Japanese companies and Californian tranny propaganda organizations.

>They're STILL not seriously competing

They don't need to because a lot of their IPs are at best guarantee hits which are something Microsoft and Sony wished it had.

>having a large number of people who don't possess Nintendo DNA in our group would not be a plus
Holy fucking based

Nintendo learned 20 years ago, with the failure of the Gamecube, that they can't compete in the same niche as SONY and MS. So, they stopped participating in the technology arms race and instead pursued their own strategy of horizontal integration between hardware and software. They will continue to be successful by releasing quality first and second party games on withered technology with high profit margins.

Based.
They understand that the strength of their brand is company culture and design philosophy and they're very careful to only bring in studios that they think are relatively close to that view

So Nintendo will jump in if Sony tries to buy Capcom or SE? They wouldn't want to lose Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest.

>key word, "if necessary"
>Unless a key partner is threatened basically.
How is this a bad thing? Nintendo buying a big multiplat publisher or game dev will hurt everyone, Nintendo acquiring IntSys or Hal will make everyone happy as in, noone cares and nothing will change but in a good way

They can do without those.

Meanwhile, they are spending $500 million dollars on new offices and teams with the purpose that they no longer have to outsource their projects to other developers (Bandai, Koei Tecmo etc).

Nintendo are going full in-house.

Fucking amazing.

That is dumb though, a modern console with multiplats AND Nintendo 15+ million sellers would make everything else obsolete.

Dragon Quest without Nintendo is a dead franchise.

No? Capcom and SE aren't big Nintendo partners, they would jump in if someone tried to snag Hal for example

So its DQ who needs nintendo and not the other way around.
I feel like DQ would get special treatment even if bought sony anyways and be allowed to be multiplat

Dangerously based. Couldn't care less about these jewish acquisitions, just gimme more games

One of Nintendo's newest IPs, Ring Fit Adventure, outsold Final Fantasy VII Remake, Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn and others.

Thats insane to think about.
