Half of the games in that are good and it comes with part of that X Challenge thing on the side which is its own thing kind of so that's 3 out of 5 games that are good in it.

Classic Legacy 2 is nice since it's the only modern port of 9 & 10 with DLC included.

Series really peaked with 1 and the rest of the series is wildly inconsistent in quality.

Its weird, I can't bring myself to hate X6. I get it has some questionable shit in it but I genuinely have more fun with it than X5 or X4. I should do a proper replay one of these days side by side to try and articulate why I enjoy it.

X7 fucking sucks. X6 is decent at best, but has some serious lack of polish in level design, felt rushed. X4 is unremarkable all around. Nothing about it is particularly offensive, but at the same time nothing really stands out. 5 is too easy. X8 is alright, but the SNES games are still better

Yeah, Classic LC2 is 7 through 10 including all DLC for 9 & 10 (you get it either by beating them or putting a cheat code in at the title screen). It's definitely worth the collection for, since 7 is also good, there's decent extra challenges, and 8 is...pretty at least.

It's more that X4 got all the money because it and MM8 were anniversary games, and then X5 was just supposed to move along with less money. X6 was the rushed game by time standards.
