So what's the lore on these guys?
Why do they look so much like darkwraiths?
So what's the lore on these guys?
idk, souls lore seems kind of stupid so i just ignore it
They're the first ones.
They're pygmies and as such have a significant piece of the dark souls inside them from the initial splitting of the dark soul.
Gwyn was scared of them so their weapons were debuffed.
The lore is they're the black knight / darkwraith equivalent of that shitty rushed level and faction.
They look like that because they needed a quick solution and just mixed darkwraith with dragon shit and rags to make them look different.
time is convoluted
's cool
They were basically like the first "human" knights that helped fight the dragons, that seal of fire on their armor and weapons might have been what caused the undead curse eventually
Repeating it won't make it any less valid an answer. Time and space in dark souls is fucked up and gets more fucked up matching the flame.
you guys suck at dark souls lore
time is convoluted but nostalgia is straightforward in lordran
you just don't get it man reddit upvoted my fanfiction theory and vaati made a video about it too
>member the Darkwraiths?
Thats the explanation.
>shitty rushed level and faction.
Holy cope
Vaati STOLE my theory! I didn't actually want anyone believing it he is such an asshole!
"fwoooosh fwoooosh
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
fwooooosh"
Its a one way street with a background that was made to fan service Ds1 fans so they wouldnt get too much flak for Ds3 being yet another rushed dogshit game in terms of lore and story.
Anything after Dark Souls 1 is not canon.
They were branded with The Seal of Fire due to their closeness with the Dark.
They never fell as the Dark Wraiths, and continue to serve the gods.
The Curse of Undeath is from the fragmented Dark Soul from the Furtive Pygmy.
The humans is DS hung out in the abyss for a while and created armor and weapons out of it. The dark wraiths and ringed knights wear that equipment since they were the earliest groups.
Sounds like age of the gods propaganda, you think it's a coincidence that the same seal of fire gwyn put on the ringed knights to stop the dark looks exactly like the brand of the dark sign?
I wish From stopped doing this edgy hooded knight with a cape shit they always do. But I guess it's an integrated part of the games since they are japs so their ideas and archetypes are so fucking old and stale.
Medieval stuff was fucking colourful, and all these jagged and spiny steel ridges in the grey or black armor is the oldest and stalest fantasy bullshit imaginable.
Reading this thread confirms that "lore" in Miyazaki's games actually means "muh headcannon"
This type of intentionally obscure narrative just tries to cover that there is no real story going on in these games
