The reason why so many people are uncomfortable with classifying the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube as "retro" isn't because of age but because so little has changed in gaming tech wise since the early 2000's. If you look at the period from 1985-1999 the changes in technology and design mentality were immense so much so that playing those games is like stepping into another era. Your average PS2 game isnt much different than games today except that it has high res textures.

Yes, we say this every thread.

dont care, ps2 is still retro and so is the ps3, only boomers who are scared of getting old disagree

>and so is the ps3,
now this is bait

yes, user, everybody who disagrees with you is just baiting, not a single person on planet earth holds a genuine opinion that disagrees with yours

this proves PS2 is retro, and with it the rest of 6th gen

Theres more to it than that. Ps2 games were more often stylized to compensate for weaker hardware, and they weren't trying to hide the fact that they were video games.
Theres also a complaint that I'm starting to see more and more about ps2/xbox/gcn games, normalfags think they're too "video gamey."
I don't even really know what the fuck that means, but I think it has to do with games focusing on gameplay, and not on being cinematic open world games with RPG mechanics and skill trees.

It's because millennials can't handle becoming old, outdated and culturally irrelevant.

I take great solace in knowing that this will inevitably be said to you too.
