At least the survival-horror genre seems to do it mostly well, aside from being only effective in very close range that is.
Prey for example lets you eat through nightmares with the shotgun timestop combo and the RE7-8 shotties are extremely good as a fuck off bodyblocking cunt button while cleaning up trash mobs nicely.
