It is too late to start this shit?
How are the roll rates?
It is too late to start this shit?
its a really bad game to start with
not because its a gacha and all the chinkshit but all new content is build on top of old shit
so lets say you start today and roll for the new character which means you would have to clear 3 continents till you can properly level that character and use him for lategame
events that explain some areas, characters and lore are gone because they were timed so you miss out on those too
It's why games as a service models don't really work in the long run.
Devs are so focused on maintaining the initial playerbase over a long period of time, but completely overlook how unwelcoming the model is for new waves of players due to having already missed out on so much previous content.
Welp
I see what you mean, too bad then.
I seemed like a chill game or whatnot.
Kinda, the character progression is tied to exploration and if you started now you'd have to go through a shitton of content to be able to use a lot of the characters you might roll. The devs definetly fucked up in that regard, plus you'd be missing out on a lot of good event gear.
Who needs lore when you can collect waifus?
There's an event going on right now that gives a free character, but even with over ten days left, it may be hard to do as a new player.
>rates
Really shitty initially(0.6%) at zero rolls, but it scales up until a forced SSR pity at 90. The pity is referred to as a coinflip typically since it's a 50/50 between the rate up limited character and a standard gacha SSR character. If you get a standard SSR, your next SSR is guaranteed to be the rate up character. It's really unlikely to hit the pity at 90, most lucklets hit it in the 60s/70s. The weapon gacha does something similar though a lot more fucking jewish with two potential pities before the third is the guaranteed weapon.
If you wanna play it, go ahead and go for it. It's always too late to start a gacha, and it'll only get worse the further out you get from release.
Genshin is stingy with handing out the roll currency, and paying for rolls doesn't scale well either since the largest pack after the first time bonus since $100 gets about 40 rolls, not even halfway to a pity.
Haters are really quick when it comes to Genshin huh. First 2 post is a wall text of seething. Free rent.
I didn't meant lore actually.
But if you already have to rush on the treadmill as soon as you start playing, it's not really fun is it?
its not that bad because you can go though content with out maxing the world level you can ignore the world level quest and do all the story quest, you only have to be ar 30 to get to inazuma, not to mention you can do boss mats in co-op so its easy
It's pretty good
just don't roll new characters, they need items you can only get in the region you can visit at 1/3 of the current avaiable story
Thank you, I'll give it a go.
It is worth it to reroll at the start or not? Can you even do that?
its never too late, in fact the laster you start - the better experiene you get
Its single player game primarily, so starting later you litterally get more content
There are some timed events you've missed out on but that's pretty much it.
They have banner re-runs so every character will be available again eventually.
It’s decent enough for a free to play game, but like what other people have said don’t roll for the newer characters when starting out
Don't play dogshit tranime games. It only appeals to faggots, redditors, trannies, and twittards. Play fucking modded minecraft or some shit, anything other than tranime shit.
This is such a bullshit reasoning for someone not to start the game
>lets say you start today and roll for the new character which means you would have to clear 3 continents
If OP were to start today then ALL of the featured characters in the character banners would be Liyue based characters. You can go straight to Liyue and get the required mats anytime you want.
>properly level that character
Lets say OP does manage to roll an Inazuma based character, you can still level them up to lvl40 thanks to trial rewards for testing the character.
>you miss the limited timed events and lore!
you also miss the limited timed events and lore by not playing the game. Missing out on 4 festivals, 1 summer island, 1 asteroid event, and 2 dragonspine events isn't as bad as you make it sound. It sucks to miss out on past events, but you make up for it by participating in future ones
It's free, see if you like it. The rates are okay if you don't compulsively roll on every banner but actually save for who you want.
Just play literally anything else.
I rerolled on day one myself since there was a release campaign that gave an extra ten rolls or so. It may be a lot more hellish to do now if there's no new player bonus as a warning, and that lost time would work against you to finish the event and get your pick of any Liyue(notChina) 4* character. Both the current limited gacha characters, Zhong Li(Support) and Ganyu(Main DPS), are incredibly strong, but I'd give a slight edge to ZhongLi since he gives a bubble shield that prevents an incredible amount of damage and more importantly stops you from being interrupted while attacking. The meta is kinda changing away from shields to healer, but he alone still trivializes 99% of ingame content.
You do get spoonfed multiple freebie characters of the varying elements in the main quest, and your self insert character gets to change their element with every new region, now three, that comes out. A few events per year also tend to hand out a freebie character like now, so with time you'll naturally acquire every 4* just by playing. There's also five free limited/standard rolls handed out per month, and that shop also sells two rotating characters too for another freemium currency acquired by rolling.
Another thing worth noting I forgot is that any pity on the limited character/weapon gacha is tracked and carries over to other character/weapon when it expires. So if you luck out and spend all your shit, lose the coinflip, and the character gacha expires, it'll still remember that thankfully and your next SSR on the limited would be guaranteed to be the rate up character. Genshin is stingy but still "nicer" than a lot of other gachashit in that way, just don't ever spend primogems on the !Standard! gacha! I'd also recommend avoiding the weapon gacha for a long, LONG time since you'll almost always be better served by getting new characters before dealing with the money black hole that is the weapon gacha. Get battlepass weapons instead for your main attacker
Don't do it
It's really not worth it
The worst part of the game is the combat and that's all the endgame is about. Fighting, then grinding to get more powerful MAYBE since every equipment is randomized and also you can only grind a little every day because of energy. It's just an example of a game that could've been ok as a normal released single player game but because of the service elements it wants you to play forever, and its lack of depth really wears thin.
even when i liked this game i would have moral qualms about recommending a predatory gacha
what's wrong with you
you're unironically like poz fetishists who desperately want people to partake in your genshin aids
Okay, thanks.
I'll just give it a go and hope for the best.
Not even talking about genshin specifically, if you read my post you'd know I was talking about all live service games.
Dont know why you feel personally attacked.
>>you miss the limited timed events and lore!
>you also miss the limited timed events and lore by not playing the game. Missing out on 4 festivals, 1 summer island, 1 asteroid event, and 2 dragonspine events isn't as bad as you make it sound. It sucks to miss out on past events, but you make up for it by participating in future ones
this is so fucking scummy. you want people to play your shitty game because of fomo but their life would be better if they just didn't. there are better games that don't have to rely on these limited event tactics to be fun. I can play the entirety of BOTW whenever I want. You lose nothing by not playing Genshin.
The environments are pretty, exploration is rewarded with common items in chests or small puzzles.
Combat with elemental reactions is satisfying but fighting on anything that isn't even terrain is garbage.
The quests for the most part are boring as everyone talks way too much.
Enemy variety is lacking as they just make the same enemy but for each element and each new enemy type they add is more annoying that the one before it.
There are a few side activities like going on character specific quests that have branching paths or decorating your own house but they are quite limited.
Co-op is literally non existent unless you use it as a crutch when starting out with the higher level domains.
There are no dungeons outside of one time only instances.
Endgame is a soul crushing grind.
There is no leader board ranking system or pvp.
Events come in waves and give a few hours of varied content every so often like an obstacle course, tower defense or dungeon crawler mode.
Most importantly don't spend money on this game.
>this is so fucking scummy. you want people to play your shitty game because of fomo but their life would be better if they just didn't.
This is why the new Hitman games piss me off so fucking much.
I tried playing the first hitman reboot again recently because I couldn't remember why I didnt like it, then I found the events contracts list in the main menu of the game.
Around 30 or so different special contracts that i can look at and watch the briefing videos for, but I can't play any of them because I missed the 2 day window each of these were available.
In a fucking single player game.
It's never to late to start. The game is purposely designed that way. Things you missed will either come around again or be power crept in the future when you'll be prepared to get/use them. The gacha has a pity system so if there's a featured character/weapon you want you can save up for and guarantee it.
Except that for you to build enough pity for a single 5* you have to play for months, and even then it is a coin flip. And weapons are even worse. Whoopsie!
