Idk, I got fo3 the day it came out looking for a fun post-apocalyptic type game and it completely blew my expectations away at the time. Then Fallout NV came out and it no longer really felt like a dire post-apocalyptic environment. There were so little graphical improvements that memes about it basically being an overpriced dlc were thus scattered across the internet. Most to all horror removed from the game. No schematics. Mods system underwhelming overall. Forced map route. The buddy system was an overall improvement to almost over-improvement as some companions are just overpowered broken. But what does the game offer you if you play solo? Well, more of the same-y type fallout side quests, some dialogue better than fo3, some worse. The ONLY thing I think Fallout NV does WAY better than Fallout 3 is the overall landmarks. There's so much cool shit to look at and visit in NV, the strip, the damn,
Yeah if you look at. The Old Mormon Fort, Hoover Dam, Nellis AFB, The Strip, the list goes on and most of it is so much more interesting than Fo3's drab factory after drab factory.

The fact of the matter is NV was still getting threads while FO3 and even FO4 were barely getting any. The only way those games were able to maintain threads that didn't die was to attach themselves to NV. So here we are.
