Now that it’s been a year since its release, can we all admit it was a solid 6/10?
I feel like the only reason people hyped it up so much back then is because there was literally nothing else to play. You look at it now and start to realize just how forgettable it was. Pretty much the only moment that sticks out is when Samus starts to scream like an autistic retard. When a fucking cutscene is the most memorable part of your Metroid game, something went wrong there. I think it might have to do with how fucking SHITE the music was. But I dunno, what do you guys think?
>a year Just shy of 4 months, idiot. Try again in October.
James Sanchez
>I think it might have to do with how fucking SHITE the music was The music was good, fit the tone well. Honestly, only Super has an especially memorable OST, the rest of the mainline games are more atmospheric (and that's a good thing)
Hudson Collins
"Metroid never had good music" is pure cope, literally nobody was saying this until Dread released. The soundtrack is definitely underwhelming, it's the one thing even most people who absolutely loved the game generally agree on.
Nolan Mitchell
6/10 is fair yeah
Wyatt Lewis
>"Metroid never had good music" is pure cope Yeah, from (You), as I never said that whatsoever.
Ayden Carter
I can't enjoy this game because the movements are so bad compared to hollow knight
Hudson Perry
Damn the GOTY was a 6/10? Must've been a real shit year then.
Adam Rodriguez
Nah, it was my GOTY.
Jason Anderson
Saying it was never particularly memorable is also completely wrong >Metroid theme >Brinstar >Kraid's lair >Surface of SR388 >Metroid Queen >Theme of Super Metroid >Ridley/Draygon >Green Brinstar >Red Brinstar >Lower Norfair >Mother Brain >Serris/Yakuza >Both AQA themes >Nightmare >Chozo Laboratory >Gamma Metroid >Zeta Metroid >Omega Metroid That's without even getting into the Prime games. The series has a ton of memorable tracks, Dread was absolutely lacking in that department.
he's not entirely wrong, the prime games are known for good music but the only 2D metroid with notable music is super
Connor Cox
I wouldn't call that being contrarian when prime 2 was received better than dread
Connor Gonzalez
are you telling me you could hum all of those in your head right now, without looking them all up? I highly doubt that. Outside of boss themes and the main theme and norfair, the music does not stick in my mind at all.
Brandon Gray
Echoes always attracted the hipster crowd though. Most people just saw it as at best a sidegrade to Prime, which was held as the best game along with Super, while Any Forums was claiming Echoes was better than both.
Ian Foster
a sidegrade to Prime is better reception than dread considering prime is one of the highest rated games of all time
Cooper Collins
Mega Man is better. Seethe, cope, deal.
Joshua Russell
kraid's lair is the only good non-super track on that list, 90% of this series's good music comes from the prime game with 8% being super and 2% being 1/ZM
Hunter Jackson
>been a year since its release it hasn't even been half that. dread was a good game, i'd score it an 8/10. only loses points for being too linear and repeating the miniboss fights too many times.
