I can't since that's literally the ones I use.

A who's who of poor headphone choices if you are a video game enjoyer

At least people aren't using headsets

>costs 225$ in the shithole I live
nah, I'm too poor for this

Am I doing something wrong that people on voicechat can hear some sounds from my headphones? Are all open backs like this?

based. HD598 gang checking in

599bros

I had 559 (I think) and liked them.
Then I had the headphones in your pic (HD599) for two years and really hated them.

You literally cannot hear the main piano melody in this track with those. Try and compare them to even a simple phone speaker or other sound source. It all gets drowned out.

I now got an HD600 with an amp+dac a month ago and I couldn't be happier.

I can't

I used to have Sennheiser HD 595
I now have Hifiman Sundara

They sound much better for music, but in games I can't really tell the difference

>open back headphones

Too heavy. 9500/9600 are better even if the quality is a bit worse just because they're so light and comfy that you don't even feel them on your head.

>nobody has posted the best headphones for gaming of all time

I love my dt-990s

What I use. Never had any issues.

I'm not spending over a thousand euros on dynamic headphones, even if they have a cool gimmick.

I have 518s and the earpads are all torn up and padding is gross. How do I clean and replace them?

>closed
>good

Sennheiser sells replacements

I think all 500 series (except 580) are identical and all 600 series (plus 580) are identical but better send them an email first

Do not buy third party pads, they change the sound and it's shit.

I need some open back joints. Thoughts on the Philips shp5000 or

I dont like having stuff over my head, only use inear chifi

Planars and dynamic headphones both have their pros and cons, and if you DARE fucking mention Stax, I will brutally and violently vandalize your sphincter.

I think they've discontinued them, are there any decent resellers or substitutions?

They definitely sell 500 series pads, they just released a new model (560S)
Officially they will not list your model as supported but send an email, I'm 99% sure that the pad size and fitting is identical for the entire series.

I have a 5+ years old SHP2500 TV headphone (but I use it on the PC) that is good enough. It cost me about 10 dollars back then.

>order these because they were reduced heavily
>start reading about them
>literally dogshit in headphone form
>cancel amazon order

>Have Sennheiser HD598 for like a decade
>The pads have fallen off
>the leather is flaking off
>Have to bend the wire a certain way for it to work
>But they still work

Awesome, thanks. I'm a retard and didn't even realize that they just clip on, I thought it was a whole thing and have been putting it off for years.

There's no mic though

I don't want to torture my friends with a garbage headphone mic. I did it for 2 years and when I got a standalone mic, they thought I was a different person
