Why are they even remaking it? The only issue that needs fixing is Vsync being fucked on PC and required around 2 minutes of tweaking to fix. Everything else holds up amazingly well for a game from 2008. Both on a gameplay and technical aspect.
Fuck EA for trying to revive the corpse of what was once a beloved franchise.

Came here to post this basically. The remake will almost certainly fail to capture the atmosphere of the original as well. I wish companies would stop remaking games that are fine as is and focus on new games.

I mean its obvious why they are doing it. Because its a series with a strong and unique premise that ended on a sour note in the community. Reviving interest in it is so they can kickstart new games or timelines based on it.
Its like the Mass Effect remastered collection followed by the teaser for "new Mass Effect game with Liara and Shepard again wow!!! we will not let this franchise die!!!!"

Ofcourse the devs that made Deadspace 1 and 2 great are gone now, and are working on their own horror game which is releasing this year so who cares about the remakes.

Bethesda usually delivers, hopefully FO4 was an anomaly.
