always been the case with Giant Hitbox Monster fights across the entire franchise. lao shan lung since forever, fatalas/elders in general in MHFU, goldbeard in MH3u, nearly everything in gen 4, kulve and behemoth from world etc etc
you can avoid this and turn most of it into a 2-3 shot instead of an instant kill, but 90% of people understandably can't be fucked to spend hours grinding money to upgrade their armor to specific defense benchmarks
