How much crack was Konami smoking to cancel this game?

How much crack was Konami smoking to cancel this game?

People still talk about the fucking demo over 7 years later. And Konami hasnt made JACK SHIT since 2015

I'm glad it got cancelled it helped gatekeep the series from people who's first entry would have been P.T

Kill yourself incel

see kept low iq repliers like you from getting in to the series thank god it got canned

konami thought pachislot and live service cash grabs would keep them afloat singlehandedly

by the time metal gear survive flopped (remember that) and corona came crashing in, it was far too late

PT is based on SH4 concept, concept brought by the original team

a concept I'm glad was cancelled

Kojima is a hack and he was bleeding Konami dry.

And instead it’s now dead. A footnote in vidya history of a series that once sort of competed with resident evil and nothing more. But hey, who wants new games when you’d have to deal with new people?, I defo understand, I’m an antisocial aspie too.

>People still talk about the fucking demo over 7 years later
They wouldn't if it actually came out.

>How much crack was Konami smoking to cancel this game?
Kojima certainly smoked enough crack to erase 70% of Konami's value when he was leading them.

Pachinkonami didn't need help with sunking itself

People are talking about it solely because it was cancelled. If the full game had come out, if Silent Hills actually existed, it would be laughably Kojima garbage that once again paints him as an actual hack who skated by on the fact that writing standards for video game were and remain miserably low which is a good thing because games are games. A good story is nice but it's not necessary for a good game.

>kojima
>leading konami

this

Reminder that people (retards) are genuinely convinced that Kojima created an entirely new genre with P.T. and that RE7 is somehow PT clone.
Which implies that P.T. somehow invented first person horror games, when even Slender Man had more interactivity.

Vice president of Konami for few years.
Also he's the only reason why Konami didn't cancel Lords of Shadow.

you pathetic contrarian faggots dont even like video games

Kojima doesn't know how to make a game without extraneous dialogue.

>brought by the original team
SH4 wasn't made by the original team. None of the Silent Hill games were made by the "original team" except the first one, because all of them were constantly shuffled around.

The only realistic possible reason is that they knew they will fuck up and make trash, but at the same time don't want to let the Silent Hill IP just go to someone else.
So they just sit on, hoping and waiting that some day they will manage to get second team, hoging the IP. Happens all the time with other products- it's like a man on life-support, refusing to accept that he is dying. Sad, but annoying.

>what is team silent
But yeah, series went to shit after Toyama left

P.T. was a GMOD horror map with a big budget.

Didn't kojumbo blow out the MGS5 budget and time?
Which is why it got released unfinished

Good fucking riddance. The very last individual in existence to be in any way associated with Silent Hill is the peerless grandmaster of the lack of subtlety. Any input from Kojima would have ruined the game, and Kojima's rabid zealot fans would have revved their hype engine to such RPMs that the entire Silent Hill franchise would have been retroactively defined as Kojima's brainchild, like how the 1998 anime battle pac-man was made the industry standard of Stealth which permanently destroyed the entire genre.
Kojima should only ever be allowed to make his own games, for his own cult.

Yeah but they arent making *anything* at all, like how Konami even keeping the lights on?

Gambling.

>how Konami even keeping the lights on?
Their pachinko business has been more profitable than their videogame production ever was. Right up until the beginning of the pandemic, every year that Konami did pachinko only and no videogames, they made more money than any year they spent producing videogames.

>Their pachinko business has been more profitable than their videogame production ever was
What makes people make shit up this hard?
Just take a look at their Investors Relations materials. Pachinko was doing so badly, they had to merge it with arcades and it happened years ago.

>he didn't hear about Momotaro Dentetsu
over 3 million copies in about 6 months in Japan alone

>t. hothead who didn't play P.T.

Pachinko never did that well you morons most of their money comes from mobile PES, Yu-gi-oh and other mobile endeavors they make billions of dollars from that shit so no shit they'll drop KOJIMA who burns millions and millions each day

That’s the one simple trick of capitalism, do as little as you can and still get paid a veritable boatload. It’s literally the perfect, most effocient business model, just look at Valve. Sure, their grift doesn’t involve pachinko, but its a grift where they get paid for existing all the same, just like landlords.

I hate hardcore fans so much because of this attitude. "See this thing I am a fan of? No one else is allowed to become a fan unless he was there when the thing first began!"

By that logic, PS5 lifetime sales shouldn't be more than the lifetime sales of the PS1 since the only valid Playstation fans are the ones who bought the PS1 back then.
