What does Proton GE have that vanilla Proton doesn't that allows it to run?

>Persona 4 Golden is unsupported on Steam Deck
Why not? What's the limitation?

I prefer Yukiko

something to do with licensed video codecs

>Persona 4 Golden is unsupported on Steam Deck.
If this is true, I will not buy it.

It's /t͡ɕie/

Proprietary video codec support.

Valve just needed a public test for flagging games as unsupported due to the video codec and P4G drew the short straw.
They're transcoding the videos to a supported standard format, and don't be surprised if Valve requires devs to use standard formats by default in the future.

Oh that doesn't sound too terrible. Sucks for whatever team is handling that though.

That's what makes it good. You're seeing everything but the bit you really want to see.

Install Proton-GE or Wine-GE-Custom and it runs fune.

its pronounced Chie just like its spelled retard

All you need to do to run it, is get ProtonGE, and set the game to run with it.

Assuming that the point of the test isn't to detect the video codecs, transcode them, retest, and then update it to supported.
It may seem odd, but that process is something that absolutely will need to be tested.

Chie please cover that obscene body of yours.

Why must the game make me pick between Naoto and Chie?

Is there really and difference between the cheapest and the most expensive Deck?

It's an automatic process from what I've heard.
Basically, when someone is playing a game on Proton and encounters a broken video, it gets sent back to Steam to be transcoded, and after that it's sent to all users as an update to the game.
At least that was the proposed solution, no idea if they're doing it yet.

>that doujin
