Steam Deck

>gets support from Microsoft
>gets support from Sony
How did we get to this point?

>gets support from Microsoft
Nope.
Microshit will never support Wine/Proton and will try to hinder it any way they can.
Try to see if they will enable the anticheat for Halo or other Microshit games.

Phil is a snake. Secretly he's probably laying bids on Valve but Gaben's shittibg down his throat instead.

Meanwhile Nintendo is crawled up scared in the corner underneath the table

Is that why the head of Xbox is promoting it?

>the guy who namedropped hexen as a franchise he wants to see return after dropping absurd money on activision is a snake
idk about that

That is the definition of a deceitful snake

>I totally spent 70bn on Activision for Hexen instead of just buying the IP for 0.1% of that

The Activision deal is actually extremely shady. Activishit's IPs are not worth 70bn. It will take MS 70 years to recoup that hit. Behind the scenes, something else went on.

You just don't seem to get it

>activisions ips are not worth 70b
>it will take ms 70 years to recoup that hit
you dont know how money works and youre a fucking retard. Cod alone is worth 10 billion.

Nobody gets it except the shareholders that got a bail out worth billions. Activishit was a failing company.

CoD is pretty much their one valuable asset. Activishit has a yearly operating income of about 500m-1bn.

You do the math how many years it will take to recoup a 70bn cost.

>Shuhei Yoshida is a literal soiboi
Can't make this shit up.

cant wait for my steam deck to arrive :^)

>CoD is pretty much their only valuable asset
Retard.
>What is candy crush and all its derivatives
>what is hearthstone
>what is diablo
>what is starcraft

You never pay what they are "worth". You pay for what the investors will sell for. 70 billion was what they were "worth" before the sexual assault allegations. They got Activision on a super discount that only they or possibly Amazon could afford. The real question is how did he get MS on board to spend so much money? They were going to kill xbox just a few years ago.

Attached: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.jpg (1500x1542, 1.09M)

because phil turned around xbox and they actually make significant profit off game pass. this isnt a debate or cope, they were forced to reveal the financials that showed this during the apple v epic lawsuit.

it's quite literally one of the best things to come out of video games in many years

Look at all those dead IPs ran by complete idiots at nu-Blizzard

They were not worth 70bn

>dead IPs
>an entire country still runs on one
>another is one of the best selling pc games of all time
>another still has shit loads of whales dropping card packs
Youre an idiot. You also conveniently ignored candy crush and how much money it makes.

>how did he get MS on board to spend so much money
MS litterally had like 100 bil in cash. Got to spend it somewhere

They both know its going to fall flat and bomb so they're being really friendly about it. If it were an actual threat or competition to anything you wouldn't be seeing this.

All those IPs you mentioned have basically been replaced by F2P games.

Then where is the support from nintendo Nintendo?

No, they haven't.

He's a jap so he's based by definition in this shithole.

this Microshit is a nest of snakes, never trust them.
>Is that why the head of Xbox is promoting it?
Are they gonna open source some older Windows drivers and dll for software preservation sake's?
Are they gonna enable anitcheat on Linux?
I really doubt so.

I think they won't support shit, they only look at this as another possibility to sell more gamepass

Device is actually good and just proves that it's Snoy fault in killing PSVita
(i don't count Switch as handheld because it's 2015 hardware device with cheap plastic, display and shit - literally not meant to play games)

True, but why not in cloud infrastructure or buying some upcoming social media shit? Spenser must be as persuasive to the suits as he is to the public.

He's promoting gamepass streaming feature

Candy crush unironically makes more money than the Western vidya industry

Microsoft has a maket cap higher then GDP then most countries on this earth. They can afford to take losses like gamepass and consoles.

They were to investors and speculators and they are the only ones who matter.

Can't be more than 500-1bn a year given by Activishit's yearly incomes. See you in 2090 when the investment is recouped.

Nah Shuhei has also praised Switch repeatedly. Phil can't be trusted though.

>Playing Halo [...] feels good.
t. phil spencer, CEO of gaming

They never made too much with gaming though. There was a lot of talk of them spinning off the brand. It's just a huge leap from trying to remove them as dead weight to spending 70 billion for a competitive advantage.

This just puts the Xbox division in definitive red for the whole coming century. MS is pathetic.

Xbox is Microsoft's only "fun" brand with everything else being strictly business. Every time they try to make a fun toy like Apple they fail. Xbox is the closest they have ever gotten to having fans rather than people just putting up with their BS. It's the only reason I think they can stomach the losses.

Open platform is unironically the future.

>I think they won't support shit, they only look at this as another possibility to sell more gamepass
That's highly possible.
Still, I don't know what's the point when multiplayer is not supported for many games.

They don't see thevdeck as a threat, but they do see the potential for people buying their games on it.

>Activishit has a yearly operating income of about 500m-1bn.
king alone makes more than twice that in a year retard

Probably not, but I don't see 2022 Microsoft as particularly antagonistic, not more so than most corporations. They're pretty big on open source nowadays (perhaps only in the fields where it's "obviously" the best way to go, like programming languages, rather thanopen sourcing their core software products like Office, but it's a huge departure from Ballmer's rhetoric of open source as "cancer"), their cash cow is hosting Linux cloud servers, and whether it's because they're not in position of power anymore or because they've actually gotten afraid of government crackdowns or they legitimately don't mind anymore, they don't seem obstructionist to open standards or competition the way they were in the era of Internet Explorer and dirty dealings allowing Direct3D to beat OpenGL.

I'm only care about emulators & porngames

>How did we get to this point?
it's easy to give support when someone else get all the risks

Whoawoa I love gamingTM fellow gamerbrosTM

The Steam Deck IS a great device though and the two industry men in the OP are just fostering a collaborative image.
Because it IS a great handheld and theg enjoyed playing on it they have no qualms to make the tweet online, they're not lying and are simply advertising their brand to neutrals.

peepeepoopoo

Well first of all it is the futures of gaming, nobody wants to sit in front of the tv anymore, secondly they’re probably trying to get something out of it, maybe make their own handheld or sell a service.

>Probably not, but I don't see 2022 Microsoft as particularly antagonistic
I do. Until they start doing some concrete action, I'll never dismiss their "embrace, extend, and exterminate" tactics.

MONOPOLY IS... LE BAD!

test

>Probably not, but I don't see 2022 Microsoft as particularly antagonistic
To the blind eyed. Purchasing Activision was the most antagonistic move MS has committed since entering the console race with Xbox. It singlehandedly lost Sony 20 billions in worth.

nintendo doesn't participate in social media dickstroking unless they're put against the wall like back when unbreathing floyd was the hot shit

Theyre going to take Fifa and Gta as well.
It's like they remembered they have infinite money pockets.
