What is Mistborn

Fuck this Pistborn faggot.
I should have been asked to write Elden Ring.
Anyone who has read a single one of my reputable Any Forums posts would agree.

What
YOUVE been asking me to do this forrrrr going on a couple years now. And now that i am you're mad?
The fuck you even want?
No wonder the internet is in the state it's in

GRRM didn't write Elden Ring. He sat around long enough at the start of production so they could technically put his name on it and then fucked off.

Literally who

>young adult fantasy shit
lmao, guy is really comparing himself to that fat fuck

Attached: 1613978334610.jpg (1593x1710, 447.62K)

what the fuck is a mistborn

I read half of Mistborn before I got bored and dropped it.

Let me guess, it's just some off-hand twitter remark he made, so Kotaku or Forbes or whoever the fuck wrote this article decided that was newsworthy.

All GRRM's writing in Elden Ring is guaranteed to be found only in some random NPC dialogues when you ask them about the kingdoms.

FROM is just using GRRM for marketing purposes, the thing he wrote was some backstory that they could freely ignore or alter.

Sanderson writes schlock but at least he writes.

it's gonna be a sidequest to cure some girl's diarrhea

Probably plays Dark Souls in his off time and was livid he didn’t get the role

Yeah, he just joked at a press conference that he was salty he wasn't approached about despite playing From's games since King's Field, praising them for years, and ranking Bloodborne in his all-time top 10 vidya.

Attached: 1568650242632.jpg (630x629, 78.54K)

You know, I don’t want to be offensive. But Brandon Sanderson is just awful. It seems ridiculous to have to say it. He can’t think, he can’t write. There’s no discernible talent. I was upset when From gave a special writing credit to GRRM, but Martin is Cervantes compared with Sanderson. Sanderson seems to be a very sincere and troubled person, but that doesn’t mean I have to endure reading him.

Shit, I'd be down to see an entire Fromsoft game written by user, if only out of morbid curiosity

sanderson might be one of the most mediocre writers ever. He has his template and wrote a zillion books with it.
If he wrote elden ring you can bet there will be a forced love interest that will sit on the heros knee and look up into his face.

Sanderson couldn't write a From game but I would like to see his magic system template used in something.

Why is it always the most mediocre shitters who are/want to be associated with FROM's games?

What's the magic system like?

he has a lot of different ones

Unite Them

There's always some sort of MP pool like in a game but it's filled by converting something else into it, like metal.

that would be some hilarious shit right there, like one of those "letr's write a letter to x one word at a time" threads

I'm kind of worried that Martin's going to be pulling from Wheel of Time with how the Elden Ring is mentioned in the trailer and his relationship with Jordan. Not that I don't like Wheel of Time, but I don't know if Martin could write that type of fantasy and making The Wheel work as a concept was done in a way I'm not sure he could do in his position. That's assuming he's done any work at all.
Also Sanderson isn't known well enough to be called the Mistborn author. I've seen articles calling him the Wheel of Time author because even less people would care about any of Sanderson's series.
Sanderson has the prose of a child and writes like a teenager who just learned a new word and wants to seem smart. He certainly puts effort in, but he needs to work on how he gets his ideas onto paper more. Also he's previously said that any work that doesn't feature strong female and minority main characters doesn't deserve to be written.

Attached: 1431735004659.jpg (1685x576, 163.63K)

miyazaki has said that they just used the skeleton of grrm's contribution, and that if grrm would see the game he would be shocked at it being almost nothing like what he wrote

Personally I'd rather have Glen Cook try out writing for a game.

That's the vaunted "magic system" shit people are always raving about? It sounds video gamey and terrible lmao. Magic should be ineffable and magical, for fucks sake.

Not sure why you didn't post his actual quote, it's even more pathetic than I expected.

>Let me be salty! FromSoftware decides to make a fantasy game and partner with a fantasy novelist, and they choose someone who spends his days blogging about the NFL rather than the person who has played their games since King’s Field and has listed their games as his favorite games among his Top 10 consistently over time. What are you thinking, people?!
>If you don't know, they went to George R. R. Martin and made a game with him. I'm like, 'George doesn't play videogames! George has no idea'.

This fucker thinks he deserves JACKSHIT after letting Amazon utterly rape the Wheel of Time adaptation.

Attached: walking garbage.png (621x359, 149.48K)

I don't get it, he could just make his own game

I'll start:
IN

That's what you said about cuck porn, then gay porn and now you're trans

I did not know this. Why did they hire R.R.Marting to write for a video game? Is it just a publicity stunt and there are 10 writers writing and he comes into the room to say "yeah thats good, maybe kill this guy like this" or something?

On the other hand i think its cool that authors are starting to see video games as part of an interesting medium to explore themselves in.

Attached: 1629069315865.png (203x195, 6.49K)

wait is that the "I am a stick" thing? A friend of mine likes his shit I think. Sounded kinda funny that a character tried convincing a stick it wanted to be fire, but I've never read any of these.

THE

What is "Mistborn"? What is "Elden Ring"?

Yeah, pretty much just a publicity stunt. The nips basically called him in to make up some basic setting notes and then they took over from there.

Gene Wolfe should have, unfortunately he's dead and too based to work on vidya.

He overthinks his concepts and puts a lot of detail into it. People overestimate the importance of logic in stories.
His most popular one "Allomancy" is a magic system based on people eating metal and being able to do different magic based on the metal they eat.
Sanderson has this thing about how a writer's ability to resolve conflict with magic is in direct proportion to how well the audience understands the magic system, as in it becomes deus ex machina if we don't understand it enough, and he also believes that magic shouldn't be used to prop up a story. Ironically, his magic systems are just how he distracts from his bland characters and poorly thought out settings.

Miyazaki is a fan of GRRM's work and Martin only provided an outline for the world's lore that was a handful of pages

Hell Fire Emblem did the same shit. Fates was written by some really liked author/mangaka(I think) in Japan but then Intelligent Systems scrapped most of his ideas and just kept the setting. He wrote a lot too I hear.

Miyazaki is a fan of Martin's works. This was a publicity stunt and a way for him to communicate with Martin.

guess mistborn shouldn't exist then since it's a white guy and his wife as the protagonists.
Vin is a hot tomboy and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise even Sanderson

>What is "Mistborn"?

Fantasy novel series, borderline YA from what I hear, written by Brandon Sanderson, who's a popular fantasy writer these days.

>What is "Elden Ring"?

Dark Souls 4

You can literally feel his writing in the trailers already you dumb shit.

AGE

OF

By Sanderson's own standards Tolkien should've never written Lord of the Rings, though if you call him out on that he'll backtrack because he'd be lynched otherwise.
I enjoyed the The Way of Kings but it felt too gimmicky. It's like he gets an idea but then just applies it on the surface level. Also the anime fights were boring.

CUNNY

-MANCY

Idk who that is but based.
If Martin wasn't interested in videogames he should have fucked right off. He doesn't do anything anyways.

, THERE

WAS

A

The double irony of this is he teaches that the magic system needs to be undestandable as a literary device as part of his lecture. During that lecture he also says that when he was workshopping it with other authors when he explained that magic needed rules they literally all called him an idiot and that once you add rules you take away all of the fun of magic by turning it into science.

Based Harold, shitting on plebs from beyond the grave.

What the fuck is Mistborn? Anyways Martin only outlined the damn writing and whomstever at Fromsoft filled it in.

Never heard of mistborn.

MESUGAKI

Attached: 041.jpg (1280x986, 693K)

I honestly completely forgot GRRM was even involved with Elden Ring

Attached: 1623690994809.jpg (750x750, 83.75K)

DOG

Knock off Tolkien is a dumb, fat, faggot hack, so this historian is probably right.

He probably forgot as well.

I haven't read shit since high school, what do I start reading? I was into shit like Eragon when younger.

I can understand why someone would think like him from a surface consumer level. A lot of series have gained popularity from their magic, like Star Wars and Avatar, but you'd expect a writer to get that it was the characters and settings that sold these things to people. His stuff is so shallow outside of his autistic magic systems and they only serve to make something sound interesting in hindsight or when describing it to someone else.
If a Sanderson book was a game it would be Two Worlds 2. A single neat way of doing magic in an otherwise forgettable story.
youtube.com/watch?v=C4xMc7O3Jho

What are you into? If someone recommends Lord of the Rings then be sure not to read it as an action series.

THAT

that's soft magic systems, where nothing is defined and anything kinda goes, like folk stories or Gandalf
hard magic systems are when there's clearly defined rules and boundaries
both can be fun but I prefer hard magic because the asspulls seem more deserved
he has like 20 different schools of magic not to mention all the creative applications
It's not just 'I have 10 mana so I can cast fireball' for the vast majority of them
That is one specific school/application of magic in the stormlight books yes
Basically transformation where you need to convince the soul of the thing you want to transform that it actually wants to do that

Mistborn is a heist story set in fantasy. Actually pretty cool magic system. I don't know what it has to do with Elden Ring though.

>magic system based on people eating metal and being able to do different magic based on the metal they eat.
That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard of.

In some fairness, I get what he's trying to say, but I think what he's missing is that how exactly the magic works isn't actually that relevant to how usable it is as a narrative tool. What really matters is conveying the characters' magical capabilities to the audience. It's no different than understanding a character's physical capabilities. So long as you establish what's difficult and what isn't, the mechanical minutia don't matter much.

Fantasy I suppose. I started reading some lovecraft and loved his world building.

>I was into shit like Eragon when younger
You had shit taste when you were younger.

>Miyazaki game
>writing
Ayyyyy
Some obscure and hidden lore references, a mute main character and a bunch of derangued NPCs is not something that requires a writer in the first place

Kek. Jealous bitch who #GOTSMOKED

He may be a fat lazy piece of shit but George RR Martin is the most relevant Fantasy author of our time.

Attached: 1592955202023.png (427x427, 147.25K)

Should've got Steven Erikson for schizo nonsense instead.

Literally who?

Not saying his work is better or worse than Martin's, I haven't read either of them, but.. What makes him think his name is gonna get him invited by foreigners to write for a popular game dev when he's not the biggest name in the biz?

Both are awful authors.

He is a popular "young adult"author
His novels are literally capeshit tier with mary sue characters. Plus he is a mormon so you can expect the rest

Sanderson is a cuck who probably gets pegged

fuck that woman worshiping retard

whats the author of this again?

I like when magic has rules though.

Read science fiction and fantasy literature written between the 1930’s and early 1990’s. Never read any fiction more recent than that.

I recommend The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny.

Peak jealousy

>muh sex and blood and death dark fantasy
we get it, we've all been edgy teens

Miyazaki has been a fan of martin since before the asoiaf days, I don't know much about sanderson but it does seem like a bit of a bitchy thing to complain about.

David Eddings’ Belgariad.

I haven't read much fantasy lately but I liked deltora quest a lot as a kid.

COULD

Lovecraft's a pretty tough one for me to think of a contemporary. His works didn't really get interesting until he found his style later on and he released things like At the Mountains of Madness. Until then he was kind of directionless and was just trying to be Poe. I'd recommend the others that continued Lovecraft's work after his death but I've also heard bad things about them.

Brandon makes people salty kek.suggest breeds jealousy after all
he differentiates between hard and soft magic systems. soft magic systems gives way to stupid deus ex machina while hard ones are about using an extra set of rules and play on its limitations at the expense of mystery you smoothbrain.

Kyaradain or Carradine
[Kyaradain] Kyou no Pantsu | Today's Panties

hes actually a pretty popular author but i guess nobody has heard his name before since his work has never been translated to other media like tv shows, cartoons and comics.

pretty sure the vast majority of the people didnt know who martin was until game of thrones tv series came out

I don't know what Mistborn is but there's a dozen authors that would have been better than the fat hack

I am gonna assume you meant to write 'success' there. To which I would say

>what success? lol

SPIT

>George RR Martin is the most relevant Fantasy author of our time.
because of a tv show, other authors have 30 years of life expectancy ahead of them to catch up

He's whining that he deserves it because he's played their games, too. FromSoft made the right choice, never allow a fanboy of your works to write for you. You'll only get fanfiction.net-tier garbage.

Attached: this guy is a fucking idiot.png (499x338, 35.98K)

>mormon
I don't trust any Mormons after what they fucking did to AI Dungeon

Attached: AI_Dungeon_Logo.png (512x512, 31.99K)

>what success? lol
the one he has and you don't, my salty nigga. you can keep denying it if it helps you sleep at night

Only reason why grrm gets hate here is because fromdrones cannot differentiate between story and lore. Yes, there are a lot of retarded lines that reddit likes to spam, but when it comes to worldbuilding, lore and mythos, the fat man's style is actually very. very similar to that of fromsoft.

They not only scrapped it, they tore it apart into three different routes to really fuck with it.

Thanks friend

The only time I've been salty at Sanderson is when he butchered my favourite character in WoT and stole an established character's role to make a third of the last book about his OC. Otherwise I just don't like his style. It lacks magic and I read fantasy to enjoy magic.

>comics
Technically, White Sand or whatever it is called is a comic.

>It lacks magic
it has magic, it doesn't have your type of asspull magic, that's all.

I get being annoyed by this type of thing but it takes a certain level of retard to actually come out and say it to the media

>pretty sure the vast majority of the people didnt know who martin was until game of thrones tv series came out
this, but Any Forums will retroactively make him their favorite author and how they've read it before normalfags knew of it.

his writing is just plain not good

MACARONI

>stole an established character's role to make a third of the last book about his OC
Dude, portals, lmao!

Miura should've written elden ring

Attached: 1643535812238.jpg (500x500, 116.86K)

>No interest in videogames

That's WHY From wanted him. That's also why From doesn't hire any "Videogame Voice Actors".

They hire people. People that are good at the thing, regardless of medium. The point is they're good at acting, writing, whatever.

Every souls game voice actor is a legit actual actor, who acts not with their voice but their whole body as they are stage/play actors from proper acting companies in england.

George on writing is the same thing. They value how he writes for factions and religions and that's what he did for the game.

the prince of nothing, book of the new sun, conan

Is Mistborn any good?

it's naruto with a female lead

is that a good thing or a bad thing

This. I don'r particularly like his books but I think he's a good fit for the specific thing from have him doing here.

depends on your taste. it's simply written, YA level. the characters use videogame powers to do things, it's straightforward and doesn't dwell on or ponder much. i don't like it but if you enjoy naruto then maybe you'll like mistborn

This, I'd go so far as to say a videogame player who's a diehard from soft fan is exactly the type of person they wouldn't want for something like this. Not in a disrespectful way but it's just not the way they like to do things.

good explanation

Ive always felt like the Souls NPCs have the highest quality voice acting in any vidoe game despite not having much dialogue

Fucking no. It starts out decent but it's written in a very childish manner. The protagonist is a female and fucking sucks and any good parts of the setting is assassinated by the end of the first book after the only interesting character dies.

The covers remind me of Guts/Berserk

You know what I mean. Sanderson's writing almost always fails to get across any of the wonder and uncertainty that makes the fantasy genre great. Ideally fantasy should make you wonder what's in store and be ready for surprise.
>don't have the three ta'veren meet together
>don't make aviendha more than a side character
>don't give us logain's promised arc
>lol what if this established strong magic on my underpowered character
I'm glad Rafe pissed on him. The show was shit but Sanderson looked like a fag for pre-emptively celebrating some of the worst parts.
It's like when that one batman fan became a writer and made stories about batman setting criminals on fire and fucking wonder woman in the streets. They've no perspective. Also
>Every souls game voice actor is a legit actual actor, who acts not with their voice but their whole body as they are stage/play actors from proper acting companies in england
It was surreal seeing Patches in some Brit medical drama.

The authors faggotness and beta male vibes just ooze off the page.

He unironically gets pegged, I would bet my life savings on it.

This post is better than most vidya stories

>It was surreal seeing Patches in some Brit medical drama.
Peter Serafinowicz was a fan of their previous games and insisted on being cast

IN

AT

>don't have the three ta'veren meet together
He apparently decided to cut that. I mean, who'd want to read the three reminiscing one last time? I'll go to read Jordan's notes in the US one day.

basado

I wanna say my favourite magic system I have seen is in Witch Hat Atelier which has hard rules for the magic.

UNIVERSITY.

>Peter Serafinowicz

Very based human.

youtube.com/watch?v=8IDmSnD2pzc

In my experience fantasy (particularly young adult fantasy) works best when the protagonists are weak and challenges are more puzzles to be solved than outright fights with shonen powers. Stuff like figuring a way to escape or locating a monsters weakness.

what a faggot

>His most popular one "Allomancy" is a magic system based on people eating metal and being able to do different magic based on the metal they eat.
sounds like some low quality shounen manga

Stop saying YA and call it what it is
>Children's books

>Brandon makes people salty kek.suggest breeds jealousy after all
that's ironic considering he is literally seething about a better and more succesful writer being hired by from instead of him

>you take away all of the fun of magic by turning it into science
Christ, what a brainlet take.

>guy is really comparing himself to that fat fuck
Have you READ the fat man's books?

Hard magic systems are for retards who can't into media literacy or theology.

Oh my goodness!
Are you the real Anonymous! Can I get your autograph!

Attached: UwU.jpg (453x453, 24.44K)

I remember joining a young adult's book club with a friend to check out girls and it was almost exclusively young teenage girls, an aging feminist and some weirdo mormon type. We thought they'd be our age. The books sucked too.
You have no idea. Sanderson loves to take fantasy settings and build magic systems just so he can have characters run on walls and fly around in the sky fighting. He cant write fun action either.

I feel you man, even when I was a kid I avoided YA shit like the plague. Actual children's books or books for adults always appealed more.

This.

fromsoft wanted fantasy author for fantasy game not some onions neckbeard with boring facts

Attached: bearhug.jpg (1584x890, 618.11K)

This. Sanderson's Mormonism is already very apparent from him not being able to write romantic relationships beyond handholding, and his worldbuilding also suffers from Mormon mythos in the same way Battlestar Galactica did.

>Children's books
Actual children's books are timeless and you can re-read them as an adult and they still hold up. Like Chronicles of Narnia or The Neverending Story.
YA shit is just a pit of refuse.

He's a Mormon. I highly doubt it. For all of their faults, that's the least of them.

There's less angst to lean on with kid books. YA novels live on raging hormones and the target audience's feeling of being out of place. It's a crutch. Kids' books just have to avoid dirty subjects that would disturb children in ways they aren't able to understand yet. They only suffer when dumb authors think they need to dumb things down for dumb kids, which ends up making the children dumber.

Attached: 1643503316232.jpg (870x1024, 138.42K)

user, he is very, very clearly joking. Genuinely worried about your ability to interpret human emotions.

I'm going to write pulp fantasy about martian wizards doing battle in bazaars with chad barbarians who dual wield zweihanders, fuck the gay realism medieval shit

What kind of gay fucking name is Mistborn?

>Peter Serafinowicz was a fan of their previous games
Every time that dude appeared in promo materials it was painfully obvious he never touched a single souls game

Just make the characters interesting and you can pull off anything

is this guy comparable to rick riordan?

Unbridled autism

Hell yeah brother, the main character's going to be a sociopathic prince who has to juggle his royal demeanour with his need to commit hyperviolence, balanced out by a love interest who encourages him to descend into psychopathy. Gonna be fun

>He was merely pretending to be pathetic as a joke

Attached: manga ishygddt.jpg (596x600, 139.14K)

>mormons dont have weird repressed kinks and fetishes

take it youve never met one in your life?

Reminder that Sanderson is going to be the guy who finishes Game of Thrones after GRRM pops his clogs.

I know this will be drowned and insulted here in 4chins, but you people are really REALLY missing out a lot by not reading the Mistborn series.

And the author is fucking genius in World Building - So much, that he has a whole solar system interlinked, of which Mistborn is just 1 series that take place on 1 planet.

You must have ADHD then, because they are pretty good books, and most normal people agree with me.

Sounds cool, just remember to write. The best ideas are nothing until they're put on paper. Brainstorming and planning are great but you need to put the work in to make those things a reality. The process will inevitably change your vision by the end so don't be afraid to just do it.
I knew a mormon who was a very devout woman. She stunk like piss and was arrested a few times for prostitution. It was weird seeing how that clashed with how classically innocent she was when we were young, making flower crowns, keeping a lock of my hair, sticking to her dad. I've always wondered if her turning into a freak was because of her mormonism or in spite of it.
Sanderson said he couldn't write GoT since he's not able to do crude stuff.

Attached: 1632606676830.jpg (400x400, 30.79K)

I tried reading Sanderson's Way of Kings.
It was miserable.

>Ironically, his magic systems are just how he distracts from his bland characters and poorly thought out settings.
Ironically, you don't seem to have read any of his books.
Just in the Mistborn trilogy you have a "stuck-up" noble who gets PTSD later on, and you get a glimpse into his persona
This same noble seems to be "grooming" a younger noble lady, when later it's revealed to be a consensual relationship, and both of them having their social powers (it's just that the girls' social powers are so confusing that it's easy to mistake her for a dumb bimbo... which just goes along her keikaku)

So yeah, try to read the books instead of sprouting bullshit on the internet.

Alright Any Forumsirgins post your favourite young adult novels

Attached: 1643539834511.jpg (287x475, 61.18K)

>He cant write fun action either.
shit take

Imagine being tricked by faggot journalists.

I'm kind of surprised Any Forums doesn't know who he is but also not because Any Forums can barely sit down to read anything even fantasy shit

The people actually "burn" the metals inside, they have a different metabolism, which is described as a small furnace burning "inside" them.
So when they consume only specific metals by using this furnace (and they usually do so by dissolving very pure metals into a special liquid that they can drink, so they basically drink different types of mana potions) they can use different types of magic.

The turn of the screw is that all these magicians are separated in different types, so each type can use / burn only 1 type of metal (say, cooper, aluminium, etc...) and can use only 1 power (seeing better, hearing better, being stronger for a few seconds)

It's basically what another user said, though - It's a heist story + political novel, with magic system.
But the core of the story lies in the infiltrations, the political conflicts between the city-states, and the underlying mystery of why the world is like that (and will it end?)

Do you really expect anyone to actually read here?
Most people here will have blind praise for r.r just because of the GOT show. And besides, did you see the picture of those books? Clearly that is enough to go on in terms of judging the quality of a story.

I meant to read something of his because a lot of people praise him, and apparently the planeswalker he created for MtG mogs every attempt by WotC (which isn't very surprising to be honest)
What's a good one to see if I like his writing? I dont wanna start with like a 15 book series right away

I only read a couple back in the day, but there was one that had holocaust immolation cages, old kids that turn you old, and a drooling retard that became buff and cool for no reason. Don't remember the name but it stuck with me somehow.

Attached: 1503468300852.jpg (1280x720, 145.57K)

Sanderson is better than Martin, though.

the only book of his that isn't part of a long series is elantris. mistborn book 1 is somewhat standalone

Sanderson is an awesome writer! His Mistwalker series is an incredible and thrilling read from start to finish! I recommend anyobody out there go read it! Especifially if you are a gamer who likes fantasy and cool magicks.

Sanderson is one of the worst modern fantasy writers. He shouldn't be attached to anything.

Fuck Sanderhack. He should stop writing like an autistic teenager.

Me and a friend both described this to each other without realizing we were talking about the same series.

Lol

Why would you not post it?

Speaking of the fat fuck..
Did any of you play the telltale got game?

I heard it was a blatant copy of the stark plot, but was it any good?

>elantris
It's this book that made me realize what kind of hack Sanderfaggot really is. I expected a proper book instead the ending turns what is a self contained novel into "They won... but did they?" sequelbait. Literally worse than shonen manga writing.

Do yourself a favor and never read Sanderson again after you finish Mistborn 1.

ftfy. Not even normalfags like GoT anymore after the show shit the bed so hard.

It was 6/10 as far as i remember but it ends on a cliffhanger and sequel never ever

Two fat guys walked into a bar

whether his stories are good or not, it's bad press to come off as a jealous bitch like that, assuming of course it's real which is not a given on this shithole. At any rate, the cover art for the book is rather bad and lack of publicity on top would hurt anyone's chances of becoming a powerhouse to reckon with.

I don't think reading anything has pissed me off more than reading Lift chapters has

Imagine if he did end up writing Fromsoft games
>"Hey Sekiro, I'm not gonna kill you 'cause you beat up my grandson or whatever, I'm gonna kill you because I'm awesome. Awesome Saint Isshin."
>Sekiro struggled to contain his shock and pants as Awesome Saint Isshin used his powers of Awesomeness to pull out a gun and fucking shoot him.

Shallan is way fucking worse.

This is legit worse than fan fiction on tumblr

Well it is written from a perspective of an 11 year old girl.

People acting like this off hand comment made jokingly is him being buttblasted and bitter. Why does Any Forums get baited by clickbait and retarded OPs so much?

...

>Read Way of Kings so my sister will stop bothering me about it
>Something remotely interesting is about to happen with Kaladin or Dalinar
>mfw it cuts away to a Shallan chapter

I honestly don't know how I made it through that 1500 page monstrosity between Shallan and Jasnah being so insufferable, the parallel flashback narrative absolutely trashing the already sluggish pacing, and Szeth showing up in every interlude feeling like a character ripped out of a bad anime.

For me? It's First Law

>posting vinny vinesauce confirmed redditor sex pervert
cringe

Any Forums is a pathetic hive of children trying to fit in.

Sanderson is a tryhard striver rat so of course he's seething at the lost opportunity to expand his brand.

>Merely pretending to be a salty little bitch

Shallan is the primary character of book 2 and features even more prominently so have fun with that when you get pressured to read it

Sorry, I'm not circumcised.

It fits the current hivemind narrative of sanderson = bad so it must be true.

So you're saying that would be the fight as perceived by Kuro

>don't read anything later than '90
Solar Cycle was finished in 01 so you are objectively a faggot

if i started counting fantasy novels that have these massive dumps of trivia completely unrelated to the main plot ripped from a d&d scenario we would be here all day

And she's supposed to be the witty intelligent character. Like 130 iq wordplay.

>Solar Cycle
Exultant taste.

For the sake of charity I'll say this is probably free indirect discourse .I haven't read the book so I don't know but it's possible something interesting is done with this

No because Kuro is a lewd mesugaki slut who acts like an adult and pretty far from ab 11 year old girl. Where as Lift is completely opposite more like Peter Pan who never wants to grow old.

Elaborate

My sister said Shallan gets better in book 2 (I don't particularly believe it), but she hasn't bothered me about reading any more after telling her my problems with the first book.

Isn't Kuro is immortal and like way older than 11?

I immediately guessed that it was supposed to be a young PoV, but only because it sounds like what an adult thinks children talk like. It's that out-of-touch shit that sounds like Borderlands writing.

That's Wind on Fire. The whole trilogy is solid kino. I didn't know how good I had it as a kid for fantasy: it's shit nowadays

I don't think his immortality does anything to slow his aging, or at least it wouldn't stop him aging further than 11

>It's that out-of-touch shit that sounds like Borderlands writing
his books have a lot of that vibe

> it sounds like what an adult thinks children talk like
Spot on. Same thing with his teenage characters.

Thanks for reminding me that I still have to finish a book called 'Science Fiction of the 30's' that I bought at a library sale along with some old Asimov short stories

fuck no stormlight archives is trash, way worse than even got books have gotten

Cmon no way. Even if you don't like him that's not true.

This hack ruined wheel of time

How do children think like then?

I'm sorry but it's true. read any section of Shallan and Kaladin having cheeky bants

It's just ok don't hype it into more than it is

>getting this defensive
Your books are dogshit Brandon.
