In theory I'm ok with not blocking ads to support someone that gives me content for free.
In practice this whole ad-supported model is a slippery slope because ad companies are like a cancer.
It starts with one ad in your 10 minute video, then you get two ads, then you get a sponsor shoutout, then the site changes functionality so that you can't skip the sponsor shoutout and after a while every video just becomes clickbait with a million ads and everyone using sponsored products.
It's not like we haven't seen it happen on TV already, even on shit you used to pay to not see ads.
In my opinion it's the creator's responsibility to keep a balance so that users are not put off too much by the shilling and allow ads to support you and I think Linus is not balancing things very well.

I don't know why people fall for the high DPI meme. At 4k 27", you have to use scaling if you're sitting more than a foot away. At 200% scaling, the text looks very nice, but you've essentially just converted your 4k panel into a 1080p one.

I use a 43" 4k monitor, and it's absolutely fantastic, I have space for days. Higher DPI is nice, but I wouldn't drive 4x the pixels for 1.2x the experience.
