Trying to be a competitive smash clone. Key work being competitive.

Part of it is Nick cheaping out, another part of it is the devs trying to ape the competitive aspect of Smash without paying the casual side any mind.

so throwing in some items would've helped?

The game was rushed

so we got no budget, no dev time, incorrect focus
damn did this game get ANYTHING right?

Attached: 1643524486579.webm (1000x750, 2.77M)

For me it was:
>Budget title
>Rushed
>Underwhelming music
>Too fast paced to enjoy
>Repeated attacks for most characters
>Same throwing animation for eveyone
>Helga not having an "Old Betsy" move. How do they miss her iconic catchphrase when threatening people? It's in every single episode.

Didn't have El Tigre in it

It failed on both fan service and competitive fronts. It's pretty obvious how rushed it was when you compare it to their previous game

terrible control scheme

it was okay. that's the problem. it was just okay; didnt excel at anything nor give any reason to play over any of the other titles. Rivals of Aether however...

it's really as simple as nick cheaping out. if they actually went all in and got voice acting, an announcer that didn't sound phone in, memorable soundtrack and a roster that wasn't pretty much just whatever they could pull together on short notice, it could be as good as smash easily. but it's not about making a good game. it's about jew execs trying to cash in on people who'll buy anything if it's vaguely associated with popular smash game

It didn't live up to this hype

That piece of shit game was DOA as soon as it was being touted as "The Smash Killer." Also, Nickelodeon? Really? Grow the fuck up. You're not a child anymore. Act like it.

how many ad nauseam threads are you guy gonna make? yeah, the game's shit, it's a platform fighter, a genre that's synonym with bargain bin shovelwares.

It was insanely cheap and shitty in addition to being insanely gay and childish. It could have gotten away with just one prong.

The game rewarded mashing like a madman too much. Also most moves look the same. Smash really does a better job of making them distinct

>as soon as it was being touted as "The Smash Killer."
that was the fans, not the devs

new characters on february 2nd
shredder and jenny

Didn’t have Jenny in it.

God I love Hbox and his Thumbnails, they easily trigger plebs

It had too low a budget to ever stand a chance really, the game looks like shovelware and the normies making up 99% of sales care about that than anything else.

can't believe slap city died for this...

reminds me of how overwatch tried to copy competitive tf2 and ended up seeming half assed from a gameplay perspective. except with that there was a big budget so theyre distracted from how much enjoyable stuff is actually missing.
i guarantee the nick game would have gone a lot further if it merely had voice acting.

>what went wrong with nickelodeon all star brawl?
The Switch cartridges weren't orange.

Not enough sexy robutts.

What happened to all the smashers who acted like they were going to go all in on this game to spite nintendo?

>shit animations
>shit OST
>no items
>no voice lines
>no modes
>very limited alts/colors
>small roster
Doomed from day 1

It unironically lacks soul. Doesn't have anything that makes it its own thing and lacks anything to keep people coming baack for more.

>roboanons
ASTONISHINGLY based

all brawler/fighter fans' families realized its all the same genre so it crashed
play rocket league retards

>t.watches the Japanese cartoons

The gameplay itself isnt bad imo

>Grow the fuck up.
Ironic coming from a Bingtoddler. Nintenmanbabies really have no self-awareness.

>doesn't watch japanese cartoons
>enters 4"chan"

Said it before and I'll say it again:
>No voice acting in CARTOON game.
It's literally that simple.

turns out children's party games don't have as much use when they're barebones and on PC

theres nothing worth watching any more.

Smash only sells because of the novelty of it's roster.
The actual game itself is mostly irrelevant.

Trying to make a clone of the gameplay is missing the point completely.

are the avatarfags gone?

8888888 no cap dis nigga speak da troof

Vendetta! Vendetta! Vendetta!

Maybe

Missing a lot of stuff that will be added months after release

>small roster
20 is not so small, or well 21 with Garfield already added and Shredder coming out soon

never ever

So I guess that rules out the possibility for a jenny DLC character?

Attached: 1348765245723.png (539x600, 98.84K)

as someone who barely plays fightan games this had my interest, but the animations look weird as fuck and basically divorced from the actual action.
I didn't even know it didn't come with voice lines, that was kind of assumed to be a part of it. What the fuck?

At this point I don’t think there will be DLC at all

she's busy with another project

Attached: jen lilandy.jpg (706x776, 107.32K)

this kind of style brings a lot of attention to her lack of a nose

>flesh colored Jenny

This is not ok.

so, how would (You) fix the game?

Free DLC

>As good as Smash
Nickelodeon could have done the best it could and it still would've felt short of Smash. Let's not downplay Sakurai's decades of experience and connections by pretending a small team with one alright game under its belt could have matched let alone surpassed him

It's both. The game could have characters people love and if the gameplay, presentation values, content, music and more isn't up to snuff, it won't get far, as evidenced by this title

isn't that what they're doing already

Attached: Avatar scam montage.webm (640x480, 908.57K)

>still no alternate colors

Same thing that happened with Slap City. Started off with a fun premise, began catering to the competitive scene, fast forward a little bit and you can't play online anymore. It doesn't help that the devs supposedly pissed off a big chunk of the smash community when they managed to make a tourney stream drop to zero.

Post alts

Shit animations, shit musics, shit sound effects, no voice acting, no single player content...
And the gameplay isn't even good.

The only time NASB was fun was shitposting in the Any Forums threads before it released, when we didn't know how bad the game would really ends up being.

It's the problem all the spin offs from franchises are going to have. The rack disirpin.
They've got massive pools of characters to choose from and deal out less than 20 or so.
They don't take the time to make the characters all fit into a cohesive art style without sacrificing them as individuals, like Toph feeling off with her colors.
Attacks and animations are never very solid and have an "indie's first 3d from 2012" feel.
They all want to be Smash Bros, and not just be games also within the party fighting genre.
