Which girl do you think will be the most popular when the game actually comes out?
Besides Melina, of course.
Ranni and whoever makes the sex noises from the voice files.
Whoever has the biggest tips or prettiest feet. In other news bows are viable.
Probably Malenia, hell I could see her being the most popular even if you’re also including Melina.
The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that much like Nintendo with Smash, Fromsoftware did a poo job doing balance patches with ds3 and I'd rather they didn't do any. The game became less balanced after their fixes besides fixing the glitch that was RKUGS hitbox.
>moonlight greatsword is in
yus!
Having a high velocity charge is nice. Now people can't just slowly meander out of the way like you're shooting them in water. Is that an ashe of war or just a full charge r2 for that bow?
What's with the random ruins scattered all around Limgrave? is it the flying temple falling down or something?
I'm playing Sekiro for the first time in the run up to Elden Ring and, frustration aside, I'm loving it. I hope there are nods to Sekino, or outright game mechanics transplanted from it.
it is.
Don’t bow R2s just use the arrow equipped in your second slot for a normal attack instead of doing some kind of unique charged attack?
The jump mechanics are pretty similar but less momentum it seems. To me, I'm assuming Fromsoft will make a Sekiro esq game after armor core if they do keep developing. Seems like the natural development since they have all remarked they enjoyed Sekiro and its development.
Its a greatbow animation, with a standard bow weapon art. But its nice to have confirmation of more types of weapons.
Oh your right
It took the place of Tenchu, but I can't imagine how they'll continue the story.
Ninja Blade reboot?
>but I can't imagine how they'll continue the story
Sekiro: Journey to the West
If they do a sequel, it should be returning the dragons power to Korea.
To be honest, I've grown kinda weary of the spells and and their Sorceries, Miracles,Pyromancy, Hexes, etc..
I propose a system where all spells, even ones like Heal, are basically sorceries that scale mainly with Int. They are attuned like scrolls and have limited casts exactly like Dark Souls 1 and 2.
Conversely, Faith gets something completely different, more like Bloodborne and Sekiro. The power of Faith is manifested through Relics and they are cast from an MP pool for all of them. The Relics gain new effects with increases in Faith, like a Rosary that starts with the power to make light, but with higher scores, gains the power to harm Evil around the user.
Faith should also have the largest shares of magical weapons like in Demon's Souls.
So these are the six main areas? Is Limgrave the name of the entire first region?
Some of them, like the buffs to magical infuses should have been the first thing to come out. I think it was the last, but at the point the game was so wacked and anime, it only served to make Dark Lothric Swords the new Refined Lothric Sword. And it was still pointless because Blessed Infusion was still absolute shit.
the wolf accompanying the rice cunny to china or some shit.
I've never played with magic before in any of the souls games, I'll try to go full mage this time, since spells look really fun. Hope the mana management isn't too horrible.
I hope by this time you mean Dark Souls 2, because magic is kinda shit in the other games.
Well, there's Demon's Souls...
ASSA
>So these are the six main areas?
Most likely yes with the eternal city and flying temple being optional areas.
>Is Limgrave the name of the entire first region?
From what i've seen i think its only the top part of the 1st area while NOT australia is named something else like weeping peninsula
What's his name again?
I mean in ER, in other games I've always went with the simple heavy armor/big sword combo.
it's in the filename retard.
Best dungeon boss.

Why are there beastmen in Elden?
We dont know for sure, but animal people are plenty in the game, with harpies, lion people, wolf people, monkey people, etc...

During development, Dark Souls 3 was going to have an area called “God Grave” which was eventually cut from the game, and parts of it were changed into the Ringed City DLC. Other pieces from it return in Elden Ring. Here is an unused Dark Souls 3 asset, and as seen in Elden Ring.

The souls general sucks because no actual discussion of the games or elden ring takes place
Seriously? Not even the Code Vein general has ERP, and it felt like that game would have gotten a ton of it. They aren't talking about all of the new official Elden Ring news?
>jsf turned into a troon
sad
I'm betting Melina, Snow Witch, and the other maiden will be pretty popular. Malenia will probably be second most popular behind Melina.
What is happening in this webm?
Did he fuck up and accidentally casted a spell on his teammate instead of the boss during a speedrun?

I can't wait to bully magic fags
They are incredibly gameplay oriented as they are mostly pvpfags so unless its about numbers or movesets they dont care much.
Is the remote code exploit thing fixed yet? I want to start my DS2 playthrough already, been putting it off since I heard the news.
>casts a blizzard on you from several miles away
You should be fine if you play offline. The RCE exploit is just a way for people you interact with online to mess with your computer.
If you play oflline you are safe, unless you really want those rare invasions and messages just go for it.
It felt like yesterday when the dark souls general was the comfiest general. pretty sure that was when vg was created.
>equips shield with 100% magic resistance
It's cold damage that also hits you from behind, dummy. You would have known this if you had more INT.
Fuck when was vg created? My memories are such a jumbled mess, i remember vp being created during the HGSS hype and the eternal v pokemon general finally dying.
>shit dude you only got 4 int
If you’re going to 2 hand you can stop at 66.
I remember doubting Miyazaki, but now I'm just hyped.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Reminder that Dark Souls 3 was a rushjob because Miyazaki never wanted to make it

Kinda wish we have swimming. The entrance to the boss area in Castle Mourne looked jarring as fuck if we're looking at how you can't cross through the puddle leading up to the area and how the player can only go through the fog gate to get in.
>pharros lockstones are back
HOLY BASED
Oh shit, really?
it really is DS2 2
Nice. More exploration kino.
>eternal city and flying temple
Wait, do we know that these areas are optional?? I know that there are divine towers which most likely go up and you need to collect something for opening them butbI think the final battle will be up there. Or at least down there in the eternal city, because it's basically impossible to miss the entrance. In the cnt people have already found entrances the underground but it was cut from the cnt so you'd just fall into the nothingness + in the article that tester that tested the game for 10 hours said there are most likely multiple entrances. Can't really imagine that these 2 areas are optional. At least the eternal city.
Its mostly speculation on my part but the eternal city is supposed to be the ruins of an ancient civilization and not the home of an active demigod like Godrick, so in theory its optional and i imagine its how we get one of the 3 endings.
The flying temple does sound like a great final boss area but at the same time its hard to say how it looks like now considering some big chunks of it are on the ground now. But the same as the eternal city, i dont think there is a demigod active there, maybe marika herself, but i didnt see any links from her and it so far
So i say EC is with confidence optional while FT might be a small final boss area with far less confidence.
I wonder what kind of bullshit hoolahoop we're gonna have to go through to get the usual third ending. I wonder if this is gonna be another Moon Presence scenario.
Apparently the actual intro doesn't really talk about the demigods? Wouldn't it be amusing if they were all optional?
Considering the finger maidens work for the two fingers i imagine the 3rd ending is working with the three fingers.
Nah, i dont think Miyazaki would lie mutiple times about that, Demigods are obligatory but i think they want to keep them secret.
Reject Magic Builds, Embrace Blackpowder Weapons.
How many demigods are there? Is malenia a demigod? What about Godfrey?
Sorry, blue is my favorite color. It has decided things for me for most of my life.
>Not wanting to be a magic knight with a backup gun
NGMI.
6 main demigod bosses, one for each area, there might be more demigod people who arent bosses or maybe optional, but the 6 are confirmed.
> What about Godfrey?
Godfrey is the father of at least some of the demigods as he was married to Marika before becoming tarnished and getting exiled. But he is human, probably, which is why the children are "demi" gods
> Is malenia a demigod?
Yes, is she godfrey's daughter? Maybe, is she the "demi-god" boss we will have to fight? 99% chance of yes, but remember her title "blade of miquela", she works for someone else, that being her sister.
Game Informer stream spoilers:
>pic is actually the first tutorial boss
>stormveil is HUGE, by far the most complex castle area FS has ever done, lots of verticality you can get lost easily
>you can get to godric pretty fast if you know where you're going from the main gate but his first time walking around stormveil took him hours to find godric
>godric is by far the hardest first 'major boss' in a souls game, he has more moves than Gael
>took him 20 tries to beat godric but he was told he was underleveled for that fight
>godric one-shot spirit summons
>spirit summons can be upgraded but he didn't found the npc that does that (so in short he thinks spirits won't be useless but godric ate them all like they were nothing)
>you can skip stormveil and go to the next area/biome

>roundtable is an area separated from the world (so its like the nexus/hunters dream)

>gets to the underground city
>FROM tells him to leave
I wonder if that is an end game area
>What are the six areas?
Someone posted the map already here I speculate its more or less that.
>Is pic related a demigod?
Your pic is probably a spoiler so it would be nice to hide that, but its not clear yet who this is. It could be a demi-god, it could also be godfrey, it could be neither but there is not enough evidence for saying it anything for sure except we might have seen a painting of this man before becoming a snake
>Sex in the game
how do you pull out?
this looks like an AI tried to enhance that really blurry concept art from a year or so ago

Pretty sure that’s the volcano Demi-god.
Oh great, straight swords will be triple-S tier with no downside just like DS3 release.
>"The game will be less stressful"

Are there going to be great bows?
Will bows finally be viable as a main weapon?
yes,they will
>That desert area

>shield blocks rain
I guess romans made their gay turtle formation for nothing.
The way I interpreted it was that the difficulty will be the same but respawns will be more forgiving. You can even see this in the network test, they have little statues that get you quickly back to where you died, with the exception being in deep dungeons.
Aren't those Marika statues just for open-world bosses? Or do Legacy dungeons also have them?
Who else running straight to the underground city and starting your playthrough there?
oh sweet finally.
Japanese are very particluar about their word choice
less stressful =/= less difficult
my take is that he meant they can focus on making the game harder but without it feeling as bullshit, so you have nobody to blame but yourself
The bigger dungeons don't have them, they're more like tradiational souls environments.
Stakes of Marika are more like automatic graces, so you don't accidentally instantly die if you approach and open world boss from the wrong angle. Legacy dungeons have regular graces.
>25 days
backstep
Sorry, meant that you don't lose so much progress if you instantly die to an open world boss.
Faithfags will be left to die in the dirt whilst INTchads float up to heaven with the ayylmaos.
The first boss and was on par with Dancer of the Boreal Valley for difficulty.
you think margit is as hard as dancer?
margit is not the first boss
It's quite simple actually. Due to the open world nature, if you're stuck on Godric you don't have to beat your head against him to progress in the game, you can skip stormveil get lots of levels, come back much later and destroy Godric, the open world allows that now. YES, you could go farm in the old games but things were more restricted.
As long as straightsword double r1's don't true combo and are more than just horizontal swings I think it'll be fine. Have we seen what the combos even look like? DS3 made me hate them too
i expect godrick to be more tricky than dancer personally. he's going to be faster and more involved.
on the topic though, which boss does margit seem analogous to difficulty wise? am i correct on thinking margit is the hardest "first required boss" in a from game? he's harder than gyobu, gundyr, vordt, etc. i think he's harder than gascoigne too, but i want to hear opinions.
I guarantee that this is Radahn's attack.
>streamer and youtubefags get to play it a month early
I would say he is on par with Gascoigne, maybe a little lower.
Gascoigne>Margit>Oniwa>Gundyr>Whatever the fuck you choose in das2 in a normal run>Phalanx>Asylum Demon
Thats is of course only talking difficulty.
I think it's like fighting Sif as your first boss
Yep.
I did miracles + greataxe for DS3 but I kinda want to do it again for this.

AH! YOU WERE AT MY SIDE ALL ALONG. MY TRUE MENTOR...MY GUIDING MOONLIGHT.
Requesting the name of the asian girl drinking from a mug from the last thread, thanks
Damn bro, you're my kindred spirit. Good luck with Elden Ring.
>people that make huge games tend to re-use old assets
true :)
You too.
>swimming in armor
FUCK OFF
>thoughs and hopes on magic
I just hope that there will be a shitton of spells, and that you won't have to rely on stuff like rings and offhand weapons to increase your spell damage.
The fact that you can charge most spells for increased damage at the same FP cost is a great addition.
>build
Lucerne + Faith. But who knows what weapons and spells you'll come across throughout the game, so that might change.
>hopes for bosses
I think BB and DS3 have amazing bosses, so if they keep the same formula but just give them even more moves then I'm good.
A hope would be bosses having special attacks that they only use during co-op with the goal to keep players more on their toes, but that's obviously not gonna happen at this point.
Monster Hunter Tri filtered you once. Lest it happen again
Time for mace and miracles
souls games always allowed for easy overlevelling except for in the very beginning of the games. not sure what you are getting at,
... but I like your interpretation
Why does Elden Kek look worse than the Demon Soul's remake?
>jumping 6 feet in armor
>What build are you going for?
I wanna go full on bow build, hopefully there are great bows again, like the dragonslayer bow from earlier games, and hopefully it's actually viable this time around to play ranged.
i only watched 20 min of official gameplay and previous short trailers/teasers
dont know much about this game
and im gonna keep it that way until release
i'd love to lurk elden ring threads and discuss shit before release but i want to go in and experience it without knowing anything about it
i wish i didnt watch that official gameplay too
>Comfy Elden Ring thread
wow can you please not? It's time to accept that the game bombed and move on. Thanks.
how long will it take for autists to write guides on how to get certain armor sets and stuff
i don't use guides in souls games but i just want the wizard hat set, and armor like that is normally pretty difficult to get, like in dark souls 1 it was magnificently easy to fuck it up if you did it wrong
Just kill the npc that has it.
you will find that stuff beelining directly to raya lucaria academy, directly north of the starting zone
Wikis can be quick, usually linking to streams/videos showing where stuff is. Otherwise just ask here.
because des isn't multiplat for last gen
how do you know this user
i bet fextralife is already working on it lol
they will have 90% of the info week after release
also
>taking week of vacation after ER release
good idea?
>mfw I am a crippled NEET
>Still hold down a job and get neetbux
>Only work weekends
>Entire week to play Elden Ring
Would you?
I'm just going to go deprived and use whatever I find. I'll be a jack of all trades for playthrough 1 to get a taste of everything.
Im the opposite
Wildly speculating about lore and other shit in the game is part of the new Fromsoft game experience
I hope it'll be like in DaS2 where you start with absolutely nothing, not even plank shield/club.
consoles ruined elden rings visuals, how sad
because that academy is the sorcery hub in universe. it's where all the mages are from. one of the npcs in the cnt says they're from there. in all likelihood you'll find such a set there.
err, well not specifically consoles. des remake looks better than anything that's been on pc so specifically it's profit margins and the corona crisis that have ruined the new console launches, which caused the game to become multiplat.
I'm not a graphics whore and I think anything ps3 tier already can look amazing, so I'm ok with it.

>What build are you going for?
Str+Faith
>Hopes for bosses?
A good variety of them.
I've never played any Dark Souls games or any other games that are even similar in play style.
Are there different items and shit that drop from enemies like weapons and armor? Sort of like how WoW enemies can drop greens/blues/epics with different stats? Are certain items only dropped from particular mobs/bosses so you have to farm for said items?
Or do you literally just pick the weapon type/magic you want to use and just learn new skills?
I guess my question boils down to, is the game pretty "on rails" in terms of progression? You just learn new skills or techniques or is there gear to farm for similar to an MMO or ARPG?
H-he's fast!
>des remake looks better than anything that's been on pc
what?
n-nani
I'm sure you meant to say: I wish there was a comparable 3D action exclusively rpg on pc, but all we get are multiplats, so I can't really argue to the contrary.
>still no souls vidya where you can make a wheel skeleton build
I have full str playthrough first time with 40 faster cast rate pyromancy. what weapon should I pick and how much should I put in vita after 40 ?
ELDEN RAING
Yeah, there's plenty of farmable stuff, though the amount of RNG bullshit is much more limited as compared to something like WoW.
Humanoid enemies of similar size to the player often have a chance of dropping their weapon or armour, but you can also find armour sets or weapons in chests or on corpses and just randomly throughout the world. No item rarities, though you do upgrade weapons, so things you pick up probably won't be quite as effective as your primary weapon(s) until you bring them to the same level. The amount of damage they do (or if you can even wield them in the first place) is highly dependent on your build, but are pretty sensible. Big fuck-off hammers and swords require hefty strength and get a big damage bonus from strength, while katanas, whips or rapiers get a similar effect from dexterity (in general).
**I move away from the mobs to heal.
I have her on my desktop what do you think
Whats the appeal of these games? I tried DS and didn't like it at all. I like isometric arpgs like poe. The only thing I'd like would be the art style/world exploration.
>fextralife
>containing any solid info
almost all of their pages are incomplete and they are a shit website run by shitty people
Imagine if arrow rain weapon art works with greatbows
Whose wiki do you use or would recommend? Fextralife is unfortunately most of the time the top result on Google.
Based, their faggot blizzards won't save them from an axe to the dick
there is no better alternative unfortunately
>people still trying to act hyped for this crash
You can tell its all so forced.
For me, mainly its the cathartic challenge it provided and the exploration aspect of it. Adding to that, the aesthetic with these games really helped things out too with the exploration.
Try Nioh. It's a soulslike, but with diablo loot system.
>Try Nioh. It's a soulslike
no it isn't. you didn't even clear the first NG cycle I'd you think it's like dark souls
Nioh is its own brand of action rpg. Especially the second game. Comparing it to souls is as pointless as dragon dogma.
An excellent brand, mind you, but souls games have absolutely different priorities in nearly all aspects.
>No fanart
How come?
I assume swimming would add a level of complexity they aren't ready even now, especially if there are huge bodies of water
They do have a good "lore" reason not to include it since most people in middle ages didn't know how to swim, including most sailors, and someone swimming in heavy armor just looks fucking retarded.
dark souls "fans" have nothing else in life. they play dark souls like it's an MMO or multiplayer FPS. there are a lot of these guys on steam and they have 10,000 hours on every dark souls title. they literally think playing dark souls is a personality trait LMAO
>>what are your thoughts on magic, what types are you hoping to see?
a lot of variety in attack styles, not just "big projectile, fast projectile, piercing projectile, sword buff, homing soulmass" like DaS1 had
DaS3 did it right, you can tell because you could fight pvp with nothing but spells & frequently catch your opponents off guard because they were expecting a different spell & reacted to that rather than what you're actually casting
I hope we will seen more of Margit.
Because we don't even have a full view of her yet
>what are your thoughts on magic, what types are you hoping to see?
I like the aesthetic of the new spells, but I just hope at least one category of magic allows for massive versatility, kinda like DS1 miracles or DS2 pyromancy where you can heal, throw projectiles, AoE attacks, buffs, etc... I just don't want all the spells to be muh magic projectile or flashy attacks thats all.
>What build are you going for?
Regular knight with sword and board + magic that fits what I described just above
>Hopes for bosses?
variety in design and high difficulty is all I hope for
He's the first boss
Margit seems to be a very important part of the narrative so i can guarantee we will fight him several times
His cane looks suspicious for a game with obvious sengoku era influences, he is like a wandering samurai who will unzip it on us at one point
I wonder if he'll come back as a npc or if he will always be a boss. Like Godrick who have a model without all his limb.
>leaked VA list doesn't have Margit so he's either included later or it's not his real name
>come back as a npc
That would be a cool mechanic in future games. Bosses that join your "Firelink shrine" or story when you defeat them.
patches confirmed for elden ring
He was confirmed like 3 months ago by the same leaker who gave us probably the biggest early leak including a ton of details that only got datamined way later.
Apparently godrick DOES NOT become am npc. This isn't even an spoiler as an interview with fromsoft revealed that if you defeat him somebody will come and kick on godricks head and taunt him and thank you for killing him
dude patches confirmed for elden ring
>somebody will come and kick on godricks head
The same dude who helps you at the beginning of Stormveil
Servants seem to fucking despise him
But we don't know whether or not he can respawn later. He is a demigod after all and it doesn't look like you've killed him with a death knife.
okay I kekked
Moonlight Sword confirmed for Elden Ring!
patches
One of you niggers tell me what we know about NG+
Fair point. I'll hold some hope for when the game releases then.
Nothing, we know litteraly nothing about the NG+
NG+ you start in a completely new place and the game has a new endgame area essentially extending the early game and late game by 1 area each
this will only happen once per character
I wonder what temple of the sky would look like in the game. I hope its something like in Laputa: Castle in the Sky but expansive and more imaginative.
If I kill all the bosses except Malenia, will she become my gf in the ending?
Apparently you can force her to ascend or some shit, considering that you can force her daughter to become an "flower" and that shit only happens when malenia becomes an true goddess
Your image has just made me think, what if there's a magic tree up there, given this game's preoccupation with them?
It's something that i completely expected from From really.
Anyone else get an old Zelda vibe from Elden Ring? This drawing is practically the fight against the Grave Warden boss
