>forgets you exist once a cutscene starts

Borderlands 3 taught me how much I actually cared about the Borderlands lore because the constant retcons, out of character moments, zigzagging motivations, and just absolute desecration of what little goodwill had been built up was painful. They were on the cusp of something interesting when it looked like whats-his-fuck was going to accidentally drink Tyreen like a smoothie because he couldn't control his energy absorption, but eventually it just became the lilith hour. Again. Without even bothering to payoff the shit from the end of the presequel.

what the fuck, randy

Will TTW be an improvement over BL3?

APOLOGIZE

Shut the FUCK up you fucking zoomer cunt.

Man they fucked up big time. It was all being set up for Troy to fuck everyone over and become the actual big bad then its almost like the writers at Gearbox just gave up and said lol nope have super special snowflake Lilith again THIS GIRL IS ON FFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE

Attached: 1308047207715.jpg (1280x720, 146.05K)

It would've been perfect because you could have had Troy genuinely sad for the loss of his sister but also vindicated that he was free from her abuse, you could've had interesting parallels between Troy reacting to that loss and Lilith reacting to Roland's death, and on top of that Troy was closer to having a personality rather than being v-tuber Handsome Jack. But no.

Also they threw my boy Krieg in the fucking dumpster and the only solace is that they threw Maya in the there after him. I haven't played his DLC because I dropped the game after one playthrough shortly after the steam release, but it's going to take a lot for me to try the game again.

looks fun to me and making an entire game out of their best dlc is definitely a good move.

>THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIIIIIRE
i couldn't believe it. the whole game i'd been coping saying to myself "it's not THAT bad. the gameplay's pretty fun!" but that sealed the deal. holy fuck that was so bad. did they really think anyone, literally anyone, would find that to be a powerful or even remotely cool moment? words could not express the immediate and overwhelming despair when that song fucking kicked in. i've never regretted a purchase more in my life.

Attached: 1643317519648.jpg (1960x1230, 148.92K)

She has the same head model as a tink, just scaled to her body size.

I could've even forgiven that travesty if it hadn't been "Congratulations Lilith! You've learned that sometimes you need to trust others and avoid doing impulsive things yourself. Now give control of the crimson raiders to a tween that's already gotten several people killed through her stupidity and do the most impulsive thing you've ever tried". Also Brick and Mordecai weren't there, they were just off... doing nothing in particular. Fixing a random car or some shit.

What
How

only game where I was put off by blatant progressive writing
there is only one straight human men in a position of importance and the game has dozens of important characters, never seen anything like it to this day

I actually liked her as a character, you can tell the writers were trying to desperately make her annoying despite the fact every other sincere character is equally as fucking obnoxious

it better be. it's the last chance i'm giving to anything even remotely borderlands.

ive played the first 10-15 hours of this game four times. i have no idea why the game plays so well in my head and then actually playing it is so different

I was playing with my friends and we all burst out laughing during that part. God, the story was an absolute mess

>Borderlands 3 taught me how much I actually cared about the Borderlands lore because the constant retcons, out of character moments, zigzagging motivations, and just absolute desecration of what little goodwill had been built up was painful.
That also happened with 2 though

I hate that she transformed into a big monster at the end. I wanted that catharsis of seeing that smug zoomer bitch howl and cry after an entire game of being some untouchable nonentity I wanted to strangle. But no, I couldn't even have that. This game fucking cheated me. Even Handsome Jack was funny and had that smarmy yuppie charisma to him, Tyreen was an insufferable, pompous cunt

you remember the gameplay, which actually is 100% unironically fun, but not the constant moments of standing in one place while lilith reads from the quran for hours at a time

2 was good though

2 leaned a little too hard on the meme machine, but it seemed to still be earnest. At the time it was clearly the beginning of the end and I miss the bleak gallows humor that 1 had, but 2 wasn't nearly as egregious

Its extremely painful and insulting considering the amazing job of setting up such a bleak yet interesting in game universe ripe with potential from the first game, only to have ti consistently shit on in the most demeaning ways possible with every new release.

Its a shame, 3 has the best movement and gunplay in the series but the story and characters make me not want to try other vault hunters.

>while lilith reads from the quran for hours at a time

Attached: 1283486767709.jpg (640x480, 46.3K)

Go'ould?

Handsome Jack was good*

How are the games ranked?

i liked 2 better because the areas were more memorable, the areas we spend 90% of the time in are boring. the best areas are entirely optional or rushed through

As someone who considers 2 one of his favourite games of all time, I could barely play 3. Got 11 hours into it and stopped, it was that bad.

people will refute this, but 2 wouldn't even be remotely as playable if not for a stellar performance from handsome jack

2 > 3 > 1 > TPS is the general consensus. Tales is also really, really good, but nobody fucking played it.

>2 > 3 > 1 > TPS is the general consensus.

Wrong.

Attached: 1283675705702.jpg (900x660, 657.36K)

>TPS
What makes it bad?

For me:

2>TPS>1>3

i will go to war over TPS being the worst in the series because it really isn't

Australian """"""""""""""""""""""""""""humor""""""""""""""""""""""""

Biggest issue is the large environments with nothing to do in them. Lots of big empty spaces without even enemy spawns to break them up. Some of the characters are also irritating as shit (Pickle) but its not a huge issue.

Presequel is always rock bottom
BL1 is the most well liked for boomers, but has aged like shit and nobody cares anymore.
BL3 is the best gameplay in the franchise and almost every way besides the main story, which is a mess.
BL2 is overall the most well liked and critically received, mostly because of Handsome Jack.

>austrailian humor
this could've been so fucking kino but they went about it all wrong. could you imagine if we got something like bushworld adventures instead of janey constantly talking about carpet munching? the only thing that comes close is peepot

hitting a motherfucker with an axe so hard that not only he explodes, but his buddy next to him explodes from that explosion? that'd be good even if everyone was a mime

I would put 3 at the top, but 2 > TPS > 1 is correct.

Pretty much. I muted the voices but then I was just standing around wondering why the fuck I was even playing this game. And to think the devs wonder why people didn't actually play the dlc characters in 2

This bitch looks like she chokes on dog cum.

The writing is atrocious, even by borderlands standards. The environments are all samey outdoor lunar environments or industrial buildings. But the gameplay itself is pretty solid because it's when they realized that your action skill shouldn't have a 90 second cooldown, so you're always able to do your cool shit. The oxygen mechanic also sucked but the jetpack hovering and groundslams ruled.

The problem stems from non-australian developers and writers thinking that they know what australian humor is. Sure the dev team was located in australia, that doesn't mean they think they can add in aus flavour without actually knowing what it is or how to do it properly.

>BL3 is the best gameplay
Has awful classes though, only above 1 in that regards.

>You'll never be able to breed her in front of all her followers
Why even live bros?

Attached: EFQ8jwEXoAAypdC.jpg (680x383, 57.66K)

What gets me the most is the main story is absolute fucking ass in almost everything it tried to do. Yet the DLCs are actually better written, some of the jokes actually land, your Vault Hunters actually talk more and the missions are funnier to do.

The fuck happened on the main game's development?

Nah.

FL4K is pretty much the best of Zer0 and Mordecai combined
Moze's Titanfall gameplay blows Axton out of the water
Amara is Maya but better in everyway
And Zane is a mix of the best of Axton, Wilhelm and Timmy

IMO they're easily the most fun cast, then TPS, then 2 and later 1 in rock bottom.

The only way play this game is with the speech on 0

They rely way too much on their action skill and nothing else, they're pretty lame. At least in 2 you could specialise down multiple playstyles. 3's is like deciding which small step to the side you want.

How in your face is the story in 3? So much so that the game becomes unplayable? Can't you skip dialogue or cutscenes?

i liked the UVHM balancing but the endgame was pretty lacking

Unskippable cutscenes with unlikable, with return cast being out of character and new characters being obnoxiously annoying. It's pretty hard to bare considering you're looking at double digit hours to complete it. Just awful.

Bounty of Blood DLC is the closest thing to real Borderlands since the 1st game. I enjoyed the stupid Jap-Western cultural mix, but the environments and atmosphere are exactly what I want and expect from future installments should the developers and writers pull their heads out of their asses.

Attached: 1433403565994.gif (291x188, 2.85M)

with unlikable cast*

> At least in 2 you could specialise down multiple playstyles
3 has more build diversity in a single character than 2 has in the entire roster combined, both in terms of gear and character action skil combinations.

It's really not even close.

the cutscenes are skippable

They push Lilith hard which I don't fucking get. For everything that the BL2 VHs did you'd think they would have a bigger presence but the game pushes them to the side. I seriously don't fucking get the big Lilith push they did after BL2 it makes no damn sense.

Turn off subtitles too, so you don't have to read the cringe.

Just make up your own story in your head as you try to figure out whats happening from gameplay alone and wherever you're sent.

>The fuck happened on the main game's development?

Rumor is they had to rewrite the last third of the game about 6 - 8 months before launch for some reason. All of the plot hooks about Troy and Tyreen having issues with each other got axed, but the side missions on the Jakobs planet are still in game. Originally Troy was supposed to betray Tyreen but that got changed.

But as someone who has given up on Borderlands 3 half way through, should I continue on? How is the end-game, raids, dlc, etc?

Thanks to a patch a year+ after the game released.

You DO know that you will die the minute you put your dick in right?

Tannis and Lilith are also voiced by the same person too. Same with Eleanor for DLC2.

So for what is basically 1/2 or 1/3 of the campaign in BL3 you're listening to the same person.

why would you grind into end game and dlc if you didnt like the main game?
sounds to me like you knew what you wanted when you stopped playing.

It's boring as shit and doesn't even have 3's based vladof autocannons to make up for it

Attached: Annexed_Glorious_Strack_BL3_Purple_L13.jpg (1000x563, 86.67K)

Game gets a lot better once you finish the campaign. You can make the game harder, all content scales to your level, DLCs are all really good, you have 6 proving grounds with a switch that can turn them into mini-raids and give you guaranteed legendaries, 2 Raids/Takedowns with 2 bosses in each, 3 circles of slaughter, 3 events (Halloween, Cartels, Lover's Day) which can be turned on/off and give you access to more weapons and new areas...it's fun.

best vault hunters in the series in terms of personality, gameplay/skill trees, and having the merit of being the only vault hunters to actually banter with each other, and the best dlc in the series by far. 3's dogshit story is not only bad, but forced on you so hard that you can barely see the gameplay in 3

>THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIIIIIRE
You have the Pre-sequel to blame for that nonsense. Borderlands 1 and 2 credit songs were just catchy tunes that Gearbox wanted to put at the end of their game
youtu.be/irwlAcj9rws?t=20
youtube.com/watch?v=Sze48ds8xA0
Then came pre-sequel garbage and decided "hey, you know how our game was about Jack's descent to Villainy? Here's a song asking what makes a good man! That fits!
youtube.com/watch?v=NYMSmCtkOrc
Then came the third game and they decided to continue that nonsense with "Hey you know how Lilith is the Firehawk and how we had her story end? This song totally fits that! Yaaaaaaaas!"
youtu.be/OXP_TkRxd0g?t=165

krieg was fun as fuck tho
never played the other chick, or maybe I did and I forgot

So you only have to play the story once and then can just do fuck all? Unless you want to start with a different class of course.

This should've been the ending song of BL3
youtube.com/watch?v=Np0N5xeYkrE&ab_channel=TheHeavy

how is What Makes a Good Man at the ending of pre-sequel that bad when 2 does the same thing in its intro with Short Change Hero? if anything, TPS is following Gearbox's apparent love for songs by The Heavy. 3 is the only one where it was embarrassingly on the nose

idk man what makes a good man kind of fits and it is by the same band from the bl2 credit scene.

girl on fire was indeed pretty shit choice for a song. it fits but it is not the same vibe as the borderlands franchise.

>get a telltale game to show exactly how you can do writing in the BL universe that isn't horrifically obnoxious and that people actually like
>"lol no for the next game we're doing to triple down on the awful writing and make it even worse, now everybody is as annoying as tiny tina and also we're going to just go ahead and make all the main characters women and let's have a dlc about gay marriage too"
It's physically painful to hear most of the dialogue in the game and the dialogue never stops.

>So you only have to play the story once and then can just do fuck all?
Yeah, they changed that from BL2, you no longer have to do the story 3 times per character.

I have 2 mozes, 2 zanes, 1 fl4k and 1 amara (so 6 characters) and I only did the story once with each (which takes around 10 hours if you know what you're doing)

It's bad because now it's "the song has to tie in to the story we told in the game" nonsense.

>and let's have a dlc about gay marriage too"
Gay Marriage was legit great though

>bl1 aged like shit
Someone explain to me in detail how it 'aged like shit'. It's a bit floaty but otherwise it's an FPS like any other, perfectly playable and still fun.

Captain Scarlet's is one of those DLCs that makes you groan thinking about playing through it again

how is it with dozens of diablo clones and hundreds of FPSs there's only been one diablo-clone FPS

Top tier map design, cool modifier that increases enemies if you activate the event, top tier meta weapons, good boss at the end.

Base game is just a slog to get through. Story is terrible, gameplay and classes are incredibly boring, gunplay is extremely basic, barely any interesting guns and a horrendous final boss.

Has good things about it and starts getting better with each DLC

a e s t h e t i c s

and music.

I couldn't give a shit about the main good characters, but I would have joined her faction in a heartbeat.

Attached: 1562044246929.webm (1280x720, 2.75M)

And also great music (although BL3 in general has great music)
youtube.com/watch?v=Q0covEpSMIo

i think there have been and they always fail. Hellgate: London comes to mind and im positive there have been others that I cant recall right now.

As someone who loves Borderlands 1 and think that a solid BL1 Jakob's revolver is better than sex:

Action skills are incredibly token and take too long to come off cooldown so you never feel able to use them freely.
Most of the level abilities are just +X% damage to Y
Early game drags on and you spend the first several hours shooting skags in a variety of desert pits
Weapon mastery means that until you grind a solid amount of time you can't aim for shit
Enemies spawning with the guns they drop rules, but it also means you can get blown up out of nowhere by a volcano
Lilith is OP as shit whereas Brick has major mechanics that don't scale or don't work
lol ammo regen
etc.

still love that game though

this

I couldn't get past Promethea. The characters in this game are so annoying. It just feels like there is someone screaming at you over the echo nonstop. And every joke didn't only fail, it fell flat on it's face. It just reeked of desperation. Like every line they were throwing shit at the wall trying to make it stick.

Attached: 1640137750323.jpg (725x644, 19.29K)

Gunfire Reborn is honestly pretty alright but it's a rougelike so runs take 30-90 minutes and then you're done. It also takes the absurd burst damage for both players and enemies that Borderlands has on UVHM but doesn't have fight for your life to mitigate it so you'll often just die out of nowhere and then people either have to pick you up (and likely die in the process) or you lose

I am still pissed they never brought back Revolvers as a separate gun type

Attached: Capture.png (1367x716, 574.56K)

Except they did, shitbox are straight up lying. Also both Krieg and Gaige are the best vault hunters personality wise, and one of the most fun to play.

>How it aged like shit
Worst skill trees in the series
Worst character cast/powers in the series
Terrible sidequests
Lack of content even with DLC
DLC is pretty mediocre/bad aside from Knoxx
Lack of environmental variety
Villain is a literal who
Story is non-existent
Characters are one-dimensional and only exist to give you quests.
Weapon variety is lackluster, manufacturers feel the same across the board with the exception of S&S (because of mag size) and Maliwan (because of elemental quality)
Terrible boss fights & little enemy variety

It's just a very mediocre game overall

Zero > Krieg > Salvador > Maya > Gaige = Axton

Gaige > all the other irrelevant characters in 2.

bros...i want amara to pin me down and fuck my ass with her big fat tiger futa cock mantra technique...

>Gaige pre-weapon stacking nerf

Headhunters were peak comfy though.

I mean, isn't that literally what the speedrun is?

So all the dlc's for 3 are good?

Krieg to A. Swap Zero and Axton. Now it's good.

i only played up to the first boss in gunfire reborn, do the maps get better further in? the first few were just corridors

>I heard something about an Arms Race DLC?
Season Pass 2 has two DLCs, Director's Cut and Designer's Cut.

>Designer's Cut
- Arms Race, which is a side mode/Battle royale PVE where is you with no action skills and starting with white gear and eventually you get leggos from killing enemies and looting chests.
- Includes 1 new skill tree for every character (FL4K gets a Robot pet and a CC trap for mobbing, Zane gets a cannon, Moze gets a mini iron bear pet, Amara gets a ping pong ball that scales with melee damage and can also follow you around the map with certain add-ons.

>Director's Cut
- Raid boss Hermivorous (basically Vermi from BL2 but better designed)
- 4 quests in each of the main planets (Promethea, Pandora, Nekrotefayo, Eden-6) featuring Ava, the last one being basically the epilogue of BL3 where they set up the guardian as evil and them working behind the scenes.
- 3 Battle Passes with cosmetics and 4 leggos that you can get at any time without worry.

Bundled with that you also get 2 cosmetics packs, pick related being one of them.

Attached: Borderlands-3-COV-Alternative-Universe-Cosmetics.jpg (768x432, 137.43K)

How come there were never any new character dlcs for 3?

Sort of? The map design is definitely one of the most glaring weaknesses of the game, and one they're actively working on. Act 1 is all linear corridors with traps, and although they get mixed around from run to run you'll see the same rooms over and over.

Later acts have more large arenas, and those arenas have a variety of potential entrances and exits so your approach angle and destination can change from run to run even if the rooms themselves are recycled. It's still pretty linear but there's a lot more of playing with cover and enemies at multiple ranges and heights to divide your attention. Also the normal difficulty hides the cool parts of the game because Elite is when enemies start having unique variants (extra shields, different attacks, etc) that add a lot of variety, and in Reincarnation difficulty there's special overclocked versions of scrolls and abilities that are overpowered as shit but help to counter the insane damage and HP of the enemies. Think of it like UVHM letting you have two capstone abilities but putting you up against shit that requires that level of nonsense.

I really fucking hate people like you.
>muh femdom
Women will NEVER be dominant. It’s not a thing that can biological happen.

according to randy bobandy, nobody played DLC characters so they didnt bother wasting resources into making some

There was no way the writers were going to top Handsome Jack. Never ever.

Attached: Handsome_Jack.png (640x1625, 1.09M)

Only around 10% of the fanbase made a second character beyond their mains, so they just said fuck it and made new skill trees instead. That's the official response.

In reality is probably one of these things
>New DLC characters didn't sold as much as they expected it
>It would've been too much work
>They had scrapped ideas and used them for the 4th skill trees instead

>No COV takedown
Sad, could've been rad

I would buy that if anyone BUT randy said it

Attached: My Disgust Only Strengthens Me.gif (440x248, 2.52M)

>irrelevant in her own game

you sound very insecure and need to get laid

they also seem to be running out of ideas on action skills

>Dialogue is 90% improv
>Still outshine literally every other character's writing in your entire series

Attached: 1642290571936.gif (460x460, 2.4M)

Well then maybe they should stem away from MILITARY MAN, ASSASSIN MAN, PUNCH MAN AND WOMAN MAN playable characters.

I think there's a lot more that can still be done but they need to let the abilities be more than "gun that isn't gun". There's lots of interesting crowd control abilities, movement abilities, and enemy debuffs that could be the center of a character's kit in the action skill. What they're running out of is ways to hit a button that does damage.

>they tried and sold Dragon Keep as a standalone last year
Her DLC was so barren of anything besides the Invincibles.

Attached: 1623755549668.jpg (650x574, 108.41K)

but Mecromancer in BL2 was one of the most popular classes in the whole series? no one play shitty DLC characters, just like how no one plays shitty normal characters. thankfully Tina's game looks like its gonna have like 7 classes

My biggest problem with BL3 was that so much damage came directly from action skills instead of your build.
Axtons turrets draw aggro and control crowds- iron bear and zane clone just fucking destroys everything
Zer0 gets a single shot off with bonus accuracy and damage or a melee chain kill- fl4k can just sit invisible most of the time while doing crazy dps. (pets are a direct improvement over deathtrap imo tho)
Amara literally gets a better fucking phaselock that used to basically instakill crowds due to ties that bind.
Salvador was overpowered because of shit like NKLO but atleast his dual wielding had interesting interactions with weapons. I don't hate BL3 but I think BL2's relationship between weapons and skills for the most part was more interesting, bl3 leans so far into raw dps bullethosing its insane.

best movement and shooting in the series

Shitty list
It’s 2>=1>TPS>3

not to mention the weird scaling. like iron bear scales from the skills that say they do sure. but its damage also scales of of shit like fire in the hole which no one knew until they were testing it.

I agree and disagree only because I think making the action skill central to the character's kit goes a long way in differentiating them. One of the biggest weaknesses of borderlands 1 is that the bulk of the gameplay (especially in the first playthrough) is identical for every character. I can't really speak to the degree 3 overtuned things because I only did one playthrough with fl4k and didn't really look into builds, I just had my Spiderant Firetruck ram people to death

>3 at the bottom
no matter how shit a story is doesnt take away from the gameplay

gonna redownload 3, lads.
yeah i know the story is cringe but i wanna dick around and shoot stuff

the degree it was overtuned was massive, you can literally beat raid bosses with no gear and minimal skill investment using iron bear, no class mods needed.

Yeesh, that's probably overkill then. Much as I enjoyed being able to detonate Pyro Pete as Krieg in 2, that was a special confluence of factors on top of bloodsplosion being OP as shit. It definitely shouldn't be the norm.

Action skills work best when they're like Zer0 or Maya or Salvador, low cooldown skills that directly affect the way you interact with the game while not dealing direct damage.
Then you got shit like Krieg or Iron bear where either you go around destroying shit with the action skill or dont use it at all because all the action skill actually does is damage. (I love krieg but the fact melee and gun builds can often be so seperated is just fucking sad)

Never had more fun in an fps than I did playing Jack on day 1.

Does CreamAPI work for this game? I binged the free week and finished it. Willing to buy the game and creamapi the dlcs.

What the fuck even went wrong with 3? I heard DLC was good but I absolutely refuse to buy the Gay Wedding DLC.
Also, is Sam Maggs the writer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands? Because if so, we're going to see writing that makes BL3's main story look good.

Are there any borderlands 3 mods that remove like all the cutscenes and dialogue and shit so I can just play the game

Always felt like I was doing something wrong with the game. Even with the highest tier weapons because of enemy scaling or whatever it didn't feel like I made any damage and the character still went down pretty fast as well.

It actually has a shitload of cosmetics and those are actually really good.

You need the dlc files, probably can get them on the normal channels

If you were playing zane that's pretty much normal.

big problem was everything scaling of multiple skills. it doesn't matter if the gun is only 500 damage or whatever per shot when between skills and gear the damage is multiplied by 1500%

What’s normal channels bro…

Attached: C9B24D7E-06BF-4010-94BA-DF27030C1199.png (720x641, 334.41K)

just needed the right weapon. 99% of the unique guns are total trash with only a few being able to actually kill anything

Is tiny tinas wonderland borderlands 4 or a DLC? Didn't know about it's existence.

It's this game's presequel, it's own game but smaller than 3. If they learn from their mistakes it'll be a more polished experience, if not itl probably just be more 3.

I'm actually having trouble finding them... I think the files're just too big to upload on where I usually go now that they're updated for the final version, so noone's uploading them. Normally I just use csrinru, the russians are usually pretty good about having games

>lilith (possibly not dead)
>tannis
>ava
>amara
>tyreen and steele are the only dead ones
theres only 6 sirens at a time not counting the hidden one so the only new VH sirens basically have to have tyreens power or commandant steels powers unless they the previous from actually being a siren since its just liliths beta design

Attached: file.png (1148x946, 855K)

Maybe I should just wait for that instead of getting 3 now.

It'll probably be the cheaper option.
BL3 has some of the best gunplay in the series and the early mid game has some real magic but the late game balance is just an absolute mess. BL2's op level's were a grind but they were atleast easy to wrap your head around, trying to farm for builds in bl3 requires a fucking spreadsheet and 3 tabs of forum posts just to work out what works and the shit that does work is almost depressingly overpowered and easy to use.

there is also the siren from the comic which GB considers canon. she used to live in fyrestone but was put into a coma and eventually died from a rigged bus bomb set by ninetoes. her power was being able to communicate and control animals, which is what flak became. she and claptrap used to dance while waiting for the bus.

>ava
Mayafags got cucked into obliblivion

>BL2's op level's were a grind but they were atleast easy to wrap your head around
OP levels were awful dude, you had to farm the 5-10 weapons that were viable because everything else was shit, what are you talking about?

Then again who knows when that will come to steam.

Attached: 0aa.jpg (540x536, 38.56K)

I don't disagree that they were awful, especially OP9-10 were just a fucking depressing grind.
But 5-10 viable weapons? hell no. Sure some of the peak required some extra lifting if you were playing say maya or especially krieg. Dukinos mom and double saturns especially.
But other than that the build options at say OP8 are almost as vast as regular UVHM. You can do that shit with basic gear aslong as you arent doing shit like Peak or Magic Slaughter.

i swear everyone was waiting for the moment troy would obviously turn on her but it never came despite clearly being set up
>there's only been one diablo-clone FPS
because borderlands knows how to make items FEEL like their rarity, take just about any decent legendary weapon and compare it to other games legendary items. its why no other looter shooter feels nearly as fun to play as BL and thats without going into build variety.

You say that but rarity design is also a massive divide in ARPG philosophy. Some like Titan's quest have just stat sticks with big fucking numbers and maybe some special arrangements of what affixes it can have, then you've got Diablo 3 where if you aren't using a set bonus then you aren't playing the game and every legendary can massively shift your core playstyle from how it alters your abilities. Borderlands doesn't have something akin to Wave of Light monk, for instance. I'm not sure it can.

>WOMAN MAN

Attached: 1614131151582.jpg (353x363, 9.43K)

I think the BL3 class mods were a step in the right direction (minus zanes, fuck zanes class mods, having to use fucking seein' dead for most of the games life to get any fucking damage fuck) they had a lot of variety and you could make some really interesting builds, Peregrine Fl4k and Bloodletter Moze are interesting and you got wacky shit like +5 violent momentum infiltrator zane sliding around like a maniac.

>make it so you can use skills without investment if a class mod boosts it
>never add a capstone as a class mod

Attached: 1575047018980.jpg (300x219, 19.41K)

That's true, I'd forgotten that they tried to really push the boundaries on the class mods. There's some juice there (especially if they have the balls to let it give you skills from completely different classes) but it's not as cumulatively transformative because that's only in one slot.

I'm not sure the best way to go about it, honestly. It's hard to make a game "feel good" because that's so nebulous

Eternal Flame and Spy do this. Albiet dlc shit.

Anointments seemed to be an attempt to give gear class-specific bonuses but they were really badly implemented. You can reroll them now atleast, I haven't actually tried a new run since they added the reroll stuff though.

Speaking of class-specific I just read that in the new tiny tina game they're going for six classes but you choose TWO to multiclass? Shit's going to go off the rails.

>zane

I just hope it's not press Q for damage shite. The iron bear buffs genuinely took all the fun out of moze for me. Zer0 was peak fucking design, you had to put in work to get damage.

For me, having to aim with the minimap because of all of Krieg's explosions is the most fun I've had in borderlands. Unfortunately "press Q for damage" is essentially all they've made recently, though sometimes that can still dovetail into a kit nicely. Aurelia's action skill was great for locking enemies in place or flushing them out of cover which is perfect for a sniper, even though it was pretty milquetoast.

1,2 = good
rest = bad

Is post game in 3 still rerolling random modifier until you get the few that suck the least?

Aurelias skill tree (coop stuff not standing) WAS AMAZING though and her simple action skill helping her build stacks and control crowds worked really well in tandem. Stuff like the elemental sniper scope, Warning shot and even simple things that change how guns play like large caliber is what makes a great vault hunter. Interactivity with weapons is KEY in a game about having a shit load of guns.
Krieg was fun because he did shit like give your guns 500% magazine size and absurd fire rate ontop of making everything explode and setting everything on fire. Hell even the way krieg got most of his healing from either fire dots or melee kills meant he was interacting with his build. compare that to zane who ideally just has lifesteal up ALL THE TIME so you just hold m1 and keep healing. Its kinda dull.

The endgame in 3 was nonexistent.
Moze's Mech one shot literally everything, even the vault monsters, and regenerated immediately.

I lost all interest farming the same 20 oranges dropping constantly.

I remember my eyes legit hurt until I started playing with lights on.
FOTFH alone can probably trigger epilepsy the way Porygon did.

That's the real tragedy of the Pre-Sequel, they finally got the hang of how to do action skills and skill trees but it was choked out by the writing and the level design.

How's that different from Krieg holding M1 with Hellfire or any other elemental gun?
Or more realistically, not doing anything at all. Krieg can literally just have Raving Retribution and FOTFH ignite everyone and then stand still with constant regen while his DoT modifiers melt everyone. Give him a Moxxi gun and he's fucking immortal.

For the most part anyway.
Timothy was way overtuned and got most of his damage by literally just walking in a circle and building stacks every time his clones moved which was dull he also had several skills that legit just gave you huge multiplicitive damage bonuses for free. (sponsorships were fucking amazing though). Nisha had dumb shit like tombstone ontop of her autoaim which is kind of insulting to the player, but she also had a tonne of cool skills buried in there too. Claptrap was really spammy but subroutines and his blue tree added a lot of cool wildcard situations you could adapt to, he also has objectively some of the most interesting support skills in the series. Wilhelm was dull in places but is probably the most well balanced vault hunter ever made. Aurelia was just overall amazing but her coop stuff left a big gaping hole in one of her trees (which has cool shit in it like nutso accuracy bonuses.
Athena was just straight up broken though incredibly interesting melee hybrid stuff was buried in her trees.

my experience with 3 was basically "nobody besides min/maxed base fade away fl4k" felt really fun to play. once you got some overkills with him shit exploded at such a comedic rate with a clairvoyance with +100% cryo damage and de4deye with jakobs crit

too bad this was really shitty at killing the raid bosses, though. maliwan felt at least perfect for this idiot build and i kinda just lost interest after that because it just sucked at dealing with the unbelievable hp sponges you deal with in even higher end stuff. i enjoyed my time with it a lot though, not that i would say anything remotely positive about the story

>How's that different from Krieg holding M1 with Hellfire or any other elemental gun?
Managing fire dots was actually really important in some arenas when playing hellfire krieg because of how easily you could just end up burning to death, especially if you elected to play without FOTFH. Plus all the things you mentioned are based on keeping dots active. Sure you can smooth over hellfire krieg with certain gear and weapons but there was still always a level of micromanaging if you didnt want to accidently just up and die. Zane you just hold m1 and Seein' Dead does all the work to keep skills up, you dont even need to build stacks it just works.

>I absolutely refuse to buy the Gay Wedding DLC
It's unironically one of the best DLCs in the franchise. Don't let bigotry get in the way of good Vidya.

godawful pacing and no endgame
also everybody has at least one stacking mechanic for some godawful reason

Stacking mechanics are fun. When theyre not under/overworked. Critical Ascension is one of the best skills in the series.

>>they tried and sold Dragon Keep as a standalone last year
>not getting it for free on Epic
the scaling makes it the best way to play BL2
it's great because i'm too lazy to into mods
only thing that could make it better is if it had the rest of the game

You people are dead inside, Borderlands 3 was fun as shit, the main story characters are goofy and annoying but the gameplay and environments are awesome and the side quests and DLC quests are excellent.

Not to mention while end game balance is kinda eh the game has a fuck tonne of arenas and combat challenges if all you want to do is shoot shit. Hell I even kinda LIKED troy.

THAT DASHIN' FOOK WAS MAKIN' EYES AT YER SISTER!

>every single character unironically compliments Ellie on being a fat piece of shit

I got 80% of the way through the game before I just got bored and stopped. I think I mentally checked out after maya died and the screaming brat had a meltdown blaming everyone else

>less than 1/6th of the content
>best way to play
Just because you're lazy and/or stupid doesn't make that shit worth anything.

I await the day someone will figure out how to port all the VHs into BL2 so I can play it again. I am aware the source code does exist to allow one to just put all the TPS into BL2, but that's behind Gearbox's lock and key

can you build the spiderant as a decent dps or is it trash?

I had fun with it casually but didn't really try to optimize.

>port all the VHs into BL2 so I can play it again.
as someone with mod experience on this topic
not happening for a very long time

unless the mod SDK can make some magic work with loading new outside the game assets the most your going to get is a VERY overhauled skill tree to mimic bl1 VHs and that is going to take a VERY FUCKING LONG time to do so by hand

Ironically the spiderant is better for giving YOU dps with barbaric yelp.
She's more of an aggrodraw/tank anyway.
Pet dps is more of a jabber/loader thing but they can all work with enough help.

I didn't understand the hate for the twins. I didn't think they were any more/less annoying than characters like Tiny Tina in BL2. It's like people think there was this massive drop in writing quality between the two games when in reality they were always poorly written.

Handsome Jack was a villain completely carried by his voice performance, you give his lines to a worse actor and the entire story falls apart. There's also the fact that the twins were intended to be annoying parodies of attention-craving streamers and I think they pulled off what they were intended for. The real shit writing comes from Lilith and Tannis.

Attached: 1388893001494.jpg (429x399, 28.03K)

I still don't understand why Tannis got Angel's power.

its current year
there is no such thing as a 'normal' female in vigeo dames if theyre related to the story

considering that 70% of pandoras population are literal inbred mutant of varying sizes ellie is probably a sight for sore eyes

Attached: file.png (729x717, 607.27K)

>wonderlands
>ellie is the leader of an incel bandit group of wizzard simps called 'the architects'

The problem with the twins is that they feel like side villains instead of main villains
The player never has a reason to take them seriously or see them as a threat

Was there any reason for Lilith's shoehorned sacrifice?

too many cooks. theres no real threat when you have 4 (counting amara) sirens

They wanted to vindicate her history of being a shortsighted brute-force idiot with a hero complex by having her an immediate decision at massive scale that only she could fix. Also killing her off was probably the only way they could keep her from coming back, though I wouldn't be surprised if her Siren essence got shunted into moxxi or some equally hackneyed shit

>6 sirens
boy....

Moxxi would use such powers purely for profit and fame.
But yeh shoving Liliths powers into some rando or bringing her back by some contrived means sounds right on track as far as I can tell from gearbox.

speaking of amara it is never ever brought up why they sent amara A FUCKING SIREN to fight tyreen who has already succd 2 of them. tyreen never even mentions it like the writers just couldnt find an excuse unlike with lilith being able to charge the vault key faster than maya in BL2

>is Sam Maggs the writer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands?
Someone answer me?

>Don't let bigotry
Nah, I think I will. The fact that this is a DLC gun is enough of a reason to not buy it.

Attached: 60d70ac9f09a51e5f2b22864_The Cure (Shotgun-BL3).png (480x466, 34.7K)

From what we know of the lore, sirens are randomly chosen by the galaxy. In the story of Borderlands 3, we learn there's two other ways to be a siren : it's either passed on to you by your mother (which is what happened with the Calypso twins) or you can somehow choose who becomes a siren, which is what Maya wanted with Ava, but got usurped momentarily by Troy. Tannis either got randomly chosen by the universe or Angel for inexplicable reasons wanted Tannis to get her powers.

Destiny?

the DLC came out before covid was a thing, so theres that

>Tiny Tina game

user…

Don't let facts get in the way of user's self-righteous anger.

The DLC where that gun came from existed long before vaccines for covid were a thing though. It more likely refers to the fact that Smallpox, polio, all of those things are pretty much extinct in civilized nations due to vaccination than the notion that the wiki you dug that out of insinuates.

god i want to suck tyreen's dick while she sucks my lifeforce out

Might have been because jack tortured Tannis for hours along with her constant involvement with the vault keys. A mix of pity and function I guess.

it doesn't matter the when. i dont want fucking games devs pushing their beliefs onto me god damn is that so much to ask for.

Attached: ruins ur game.jpg (1920x1080, 631.83K)

It was fucking garbage

>I don't want to believe the truth
You're an odd one.

Borderlands 1 guns were meaty as hell even on the highest difficulty setting. Revolvers weren't "fires as fast as you pull the trigger" BB guns and were actual hand cannons. Only the rocket launchers were bad. In Borderlands 2, they fixed the rocket launchers and they actually blow shit up now. They fucked up the other weapons though and the weapon level scaling. They feel like they shoot cotton candy pellets on anything higher than UVHM. Everything is just a bullet sponge and you will not be decapitating heads with single shots unlike the first game. Slag and the Grog Nozzle being mandatory mechanics on higher difficulties really ruins the gunplay for me. I feel that Borderlands 2 is best enjoyed on the first playthrough because the guns can kill with one shot.

mate i do not care where the developers stand on pro/anti vax nor do i want to hear there take on it. save that shit for twitter or coffee table discussions.

>Vaccines help people
Biggest lie I've heard tonight. If that was the case, people wouldn't be dying left and right more from taking the covid vax than covid killing people.

Attached: itachi-uchiha.gif (498x372, 3.09M)

>Without even bothering to payoff the shit from the end of the presequel.
This is what fucking floors me, like what the fuck. The canon to this game is a fucking mess, dont even get me started on Tannis, who in the first game was saying the vault wasnt real until she saw hard evidence later, now suddenly had an obsession with this "1st vault hunter" guy.

Again, that statement came from before retards like you decided to politicize vaccination and make it a "belief". How many people in your town right now has polio? Mumps? Measles? You know what made you not hear anything about any of those now? Vaccination.
Retard.

retard

mate no one is making this a political discussion except you and . what i am saying is that i do not care if the devs at GB think anti-vaxers are idiots who should be killed or the patron saints of our time, i do not want to hear about it and would much rather they keep their opinions to themselves. if not why not go further and talk about some other hard hitting political topics like china murking those uyghurs, or taiwan being its own sovereign nation, or the slave trade thats still going on in northern africa? or are you just fine with them shoving their opinions in the game so long as you agree with it?

pill time!

Thread's over, everyone go home.

>i dont want fucking games devs pushing their beliefs onto me
Every game with a story does this in some capacity.

Holy fucking turbo faggotry

qrd?

>claptrap and zer0 in D
come on man

and the difference is that they tie it in to the overall story and narrative in the game to make it so that it isn't jarring and takes the player out of the world.

that's it, i'm gonna say it. i did not care for tiny tina's dlc

Not nearly enough variety to the guns lol

That's reasonable, depending on why. Some of the enemies had annoying gimmicks, the writing was relatively higher quality but the tone and the content might not land for you, and if the TTRPG trappings aren't your flavor then you're right fucked

The krieg DLC is pure fucking kino

Anti vaxers weren't a thing at the time the item came out. Hell, the terms vaxxer and anti vaxxer weren't a thing talked about in this manner when that item came out. No, seriously. The thing came out in March 2020, back then people were all just going "ugh this lockdown sucks I wanna walk my dog when the hell are we gonna get the cure so we can do outdoor shit again". No one at that time was going "I'm not taking the jab it's founded on sketchy science etc.etc. etc." because big Pharma wasn't anywhere near figuring out how to approach making a vaccine yet.
So again, how could this be a "belief" or "opinion" against antivaxxers when a vaccine didn't even exist for covid yet?

No one has a problem with games having politics or other issues in them, the problem is that they used to try and represent both sides on those issues realisticlly while nowdays they strawmen instead or they very clearly have one side be morally superior.

It used to be the case that it was pro life vs pro choice. But 'modern' writers would represent the other side as literally just not wanting to have women making their own choices while 'old' writers would represent them as thinking that a fetus is already a baby

Anti-Vaxxers were a thing for years before Covid. Except they ran on the platform that vaccines were causing autism.

What floored me was how irrelevant characters introduced in 2 and the pre-sequel were.

holy fuck I purged these shit characters from my memory, what a clusterfuck 3 was.

anti vaxxers have been a thing since the bullshit that happened with the first swine flu in 1976. its not some underground term that no one cares about.

>Anti vaxers weren't a thing at the time the item came out.
yes they were
they were just screaming retards saying vaccines cause autism

I've have to mute the dialoge in games more and more these recent years and even when I dont its beyond souless. I miss the era around theif 1&2 where it wasnt uncommon for a game to have very, very good voice acting. Or at the very least at was very overblown and sorta comedic

Anti vaxxers where already a thing in 2016 and where a part of the debates, especially on the republican side where they asked Trump what problem he had with vaccinations and he implied that they cause autism, they than asked Dr. Ben Carson to convince Trump otherwise.

So yeah Anti vaxxers have been around alot longer than Covid19

Read the two sentences again. The term anti vaxer is what I'm saying that is a recent development. The group of people has been around for a long time, yes , but in the context that you provided in regards to vaccine and autism, rather than the ones we have now who opt for things like horse dewormer.

in terms of fun claptrap is S purely for his multiple action skill bullshit and his random buff tree that forces you to use weapons you wouldn't normally use

And this retarded mentality is exactly why writers shouldn't touch any political issues because people actually believe that joe rogan took horse dewormer

what about tps VHs

It dawned on me when I bought this game on sale it was the Deluxe edition or whatever, so I actually own all DLC. I only played Homo Marriage before I quit. Are the rest worth it or should I just keep away?

I hate how they fucked up radiation which I don't think they ever really explained what it does or how it works and the fact that they didn't do the obvious thing and make it torgue exclusive also what is the point in doing the sticky bombs they just delay damage literally worthless and why the fuck does jacobs now use elements

No one said anything about Joe Rogan though. I was referring to people who took ivermectin, which includes a mississippi man, a georgia police officer, and a texas woman.

I really wish they included dlc quest and story weapons in the veteran vendor

Joe Rogan is literally 5 foot 3 meaning that he will always be wrong even when standing in opposition to psychotic liberals

>No Heaven
They should have just had DJ Champion be the De-facto composer for the game, his stuff worked great for the first game and I wish they used more than just the one song. I ended up muting the music at the end of BL3 and blasting No Heaven one final time.

why the fuck did they give Amara a shirt that covers her abs

Wish each planet wasn't so small; 2 or 3 planets with a ton of content would've been way better.

This. They should flip Amara and Moze's outfits.

Because evil Amara would deny the world her abs.

I think one of 3's issues was that they had multiple planets at all. Not only did it fuck up the sense of scale, but one of the major through-lines of the first two games was "holy shit Pandora sucks but I can't leave". Now they can leave, and it makes you wonder why the vault hunters bother putting up with this shit.

shadowtrap died

The reasoning for them not leaving Pandora was because as far as they knew Pandora was the only one with any vaults, having found 2 on the planet and 1 on it's moon. It wasn't until they opened up the star chart in 2's ending that they learned there's vaults all over the galaxy

Mecromancer was easily the most popular class because it wasn"t just "your ammo deal increased damage" with the rebound, also you got a perk
same with krieg, one of the best classes because you could make something fun with him
it was a shitty excuse

TPS is actually on an older game engine version than bl2

it MIGHT i repeat MIGHT be possible in the long future to port tps stuff into bl2
it will never be possible to port bl2 into tps
but literally nobody has managed to do that since it would involve rebuilding the bl2 exe to load a new dlc package, one that was never intended to be used on that game version and is not guaranteed to be a copy paste even if you did manage to get the exe to fake a new DLC

so once again its not happening unless the sdk modloader pulls some magic out of fucking nowhere and allow outside game assets to be loaded

but if it did you could copy paste the port to tps with little effort since they use the same mod sdk

Nothing the pre sequel offered was used in BL3, its like they wanted to retcon it.

>what is the point in doing the sticky bombs
sticky bombs get ramping % damage based on how many are stuck in the target

but anointments cover up that text

I get that, I meant "can't leave" more in the Mad Max sense where there is nothing better, there's nowhere else to go, there's no hidden oasis to find, it's just this shit forever until you die. That bleakness was something that the first game was steeped in but we're getting more and more spaceballs as time goes on

downloaded BL3 while you faggots were arguing about which cringe as the worst cringe

Soldier is pretty fun, was able to solo Odin super easy just by maxing her Iron Bear focused tree (one with the flame thrower).

She might be an annoying little shitlin but her DnD DLC was the peak of Borderlands 2

>more in the Mad Max sense where there is nothing better, there's nowhere else to go, there's no hidden oasis to find, it's just this shit forever until you die
That's not why they stay in Pandora though. It's the promise of great wealth. There's plenty of places where it's "better". For example, the fact that in Gaige's homeworld melting someone's face off with a killer robot science project is considered a crime instead of business as usual means there's still 'normal' planets out there. But if you wanna get rich quick, then you go find yourself a vault in Pandora, exploit the stuff out of it (like the spiel Jack has in the murals in Opportunity).

Krieg was the absolute most fun I had playing BL2. Only issue being that he isn't too great at raid bosses with his action skill and relies more on Bloodsplosion to do anything

Not only was 3 a shitty game, but losing Krieg as a playable character made me hate it even more

Attached: 1641799719738.png (597x559, 306.49K)

Being able to mix classes is very appealing, gonna keep my eyes on it for sure. I can finally make a Berserker Siren, just like Brick always wanted.

>The fuck happened on the main game's development?
I'd bet my ass they used the retards who wrote Tales from Borderlands.

It's written by the 'Grand Theft Auto games are an actual rape' chick.

Reminder that Jack was right and is an actual hero.

Moze it is then

It amazes me to this day hellgate london still isn’t dead.

You can kind of get away with gear being abstract spreadsheets when the camera is far away but in an FPS a gun has to feel like a gun for the game to be good.

I turned the game off after 20 minutes when an annoying Australian woman started lecturing me about homophobia.

I wonder if that's because they designed all of the maps for the vehicle gameplay which was easily the worst part of the game especially on higher levels. It was like playing Unreal Tournament 2004 against speed runners.

I'm surprised you didn't turn the voices off after 5; would be cool if you could enable certain voices, I only wanna hear Jack talk.

Nothing. People just played it too soon after they dropped out of endgame meta of BL2 and for some people the switch from desert plains to space was too big of a design change.

>BL3 is the best gameplay in the franchise
>killing everything completely effortlessly and so quick you can't even see enemies or have any need for weapon switching

BL3 is DS3 of Borderlands franchise.

Bullshit, Krieg was fucking kino before Gearbox nerfed his dialogue because some little triggered bitch cried about it in the forums.

>your action skill shouldn't have a 90 second cooldown, so you're always able to press a single button to instantly kill everything on the screen

That's actually what completely gutted entire gameplay.

>Raving retribution rants
UCP is worth using just for this

There isn't a single new likeable NPC character, and the returning ones are either wasted or spat on. It's actually impressive.

>so you're always able to press a single button to instantly kill everything on the screen
I dunno man, I was getting rubber ducky more than anything remotely useful.

i thought i was the only one

>rubber ducky
>not useful

KRIEG IS S NIGGER

>How in your face is the story in 3?
"shoving in your face" doesn't do this game justice, you just need a narrator telling the player every second "you should care listen" to push it even more
>So much so that the game becomes unplayable? Can't you skip dialogue or cutscenes?
there are some likeable character moments, but they're drowned out by people you don't care and you can't skip shit.
I manage to like the game because of my mindless hack & slash mentality and the music is nice, but holy shit, my condoleances for people who gave a shit about the original story

Do you remember how unbalanced was the Guardian Takedown at the release. Actually running out of all ammo for all your guns on the first area mobs.

go talk to lilith
after the loading screen of course

>get a telltale game to show exactly how you can do writing in the BL universe

This except completely the opposite. Telltale writing was exactly what poisoned the third's story. It's painfully obvious in the corporate warfare parts and first Pandora part.

Great style, great music, enabled cartel teleports in Slaughterhouses create ridiculously fun mess.

it's a lot better, you can feel how they didn't have enough time to wrap everything up and cutscenes are getting sparse, less and less moments where you wait for a character to end his dialogue, walk to a trigger to advance the story.
the end game is fine, the takedowns are cool and bosses fine
The dlcs are also pretty good

>Salvador in D

Answer me you fucks!!!

Risk of Rain 2 was published by Gearbox.

The gay marriage is great, finish it, just stop focussing on the gay aspects and enjoy the niggerman esthetic

I know dhal has the most boring gun design but man do i like the aesthetic and consistently enjoyable gunplay. probably because you need to build around the other weapon styles more to get full use of them. Also really want to like tediore since i like the aesthetic but throwing the weapon feels bad.

Sorry i don't support pedophilia, i wish the entire DLC was just Niggerman stuff.

>zane clone
I never fucking understand why they didn't get the clone ammo requirements or recoil. You give him Nuke Em rocketlauncher and he fires it as if it this an SMG.
You drploy a clone, run in the middle of a mobs, switch places and watch as he mows down 30 people on Mayhem 10 within two seconds. What tge fuck.

I did finish it, are the others about the same quality?
Hopefully they have better writing than the base game, gay marriage did but it might have been a fluke

I quite enjoyed listening to Moze's screams of pain whenever she got afflicted by something. Shame they dialed it back with updates.

>SUPERFAN
daddy issues, the character.

Huh. This makes me want to go back and replay the game now.

Anyone'd have daddy issues if your dad was a literal living legend.

I think it just needs more of a middle ground. I noticed after awhile that I was melting everything as Zane, but it was really just my action skills doing it, my weapons didn't matter much.

i'd be happy.
look at arnold's mexican bastard.

Started playing it with friend yesterday, didn't expect a quest about catching runaway nogs

You'd be happy about your dad telling tales of his adventures while keeping you sheltered out in bumfuck nowhere?

Tales>1>2>TPS>3's dlcs>3

1 is most repayable one since there is no scripted sequences or having to wait someone to shut the fuck up before you can progress, and the atmosphere is top notch. 2 has better variety and more interesting skill trees though, but the story and constant talking gets tiring after while. 3 has best gameplay and some of the maps and missions are cool but otherwise its huge disappointment, which is weird how the DLC's manage(the first two anyway, bounty was boring and psycho one is super rushed and short) to be a lot better than the base game in like every possible way.

>cosmetics
>in a first person shooter
I will never understand this meme

Zero really was dogshit wasn't he, biggest disappointment of BL2

Tales' story was good though?

Jack's "Kill Yourself" quest was better than anything in 3 by far and combined. Kino.

At least you aren't a Killzone fan.

Been playing again recently and legendary drops seem really unbalanced. Did a fl4k playthrough and had orange everything by like level 8. Did a zane, and hardly any drops, even sub bosses like traunt and the vault guardians werent dropping.

that's retarded

HEY VAULT THIEF! COME EAT MY UNWASHED ASS! OR ARE YOU TOO SCARED?

this was a weird problem for me when it came to 3.
Getting legendaries are supposed to be very special, but since you find so fucking many legendaries all the time in 3 the feeling of getting one isn't really special.

Attached: unnamed.jpg (300x300, 26.11K)

same

The fact its based on Tiny Tina guarantees it will suffer from the terminal issue BL3 also suffers from. They will force you to listen to a load of shitty dialogue between fights, i.e. the fun parts of the game.

Pls Randy, just let us skip dialogue. Pls.

Chad Nine-toes fucking up the cosmic equilibrium

you're one of the whiny faggots that ruined Krieg

giwtwm

>Zombie Island in D
Fuck you man, also did nobody else enjoy hammerlock's big gay hunt?

my dick got hard when tyreen called me a gunslut

aureilia was one of the most fun characters in the entire series

I want to cum in Tiny Tina (BL2)

>picture frame alt

>BL2
>everyone shits on it and the writing constantly, calling it out for the memefest it is, but people still play it
>BL3
>no one even wants to discuss it or acknowledge it, it doesn't exist by all metrics

Man. I guess you never know how bad things really can get.

Tgresher is easy, Hellborn is not limited to fire in any way.
But there's Saturn which for some reasons immune to elements and also has a bug when it becomes simply unkillabke by Krieg, same as loot midgets

> Leave Pandora
> Everything else shacks even more

>>is Sam Maggs the writer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands?
>Someone answer me?
Can someone answer me pls

The dialogue in the tt dlc was actually good though, esp the parts around rolands death. They seem to do better in the dlcs than in the main campaigns.

Also given how popular balex turned out to be, surprised we didnt get a dlc for him.

I remember knowing every single piece of useless trivia about bl2. Forgot all of it by now i'm sure. Damn. Good times.

Sam winkler, apparently

>tfw just started playing this game with friends for the first time this weekend

Pretty fun so far, gameplay is better than 2. Super obvious they took gameplay notes from Titanfall and Apex. There were a couple cringe moments, but it doesn't seem egregiously bad (so far) seems like more of the same Borderlands retardation.
Already hate Ava though. Little shit got Maya killed and it's super obvious they're grooming her to be a Siren for the next game.

Attached: dog.gif (500x430, 1.51M)

>it's super obvious they're grooming her to be a Siren for the next game.
actual spoiler
not even she becomes one in this game

Who

Well, that just sounds awful.
Maya is my GF's favorite character and loved playing her in 2, and she shrieked "NO!" when the thing happened. So then she spent the next five minutes shooting Ava and throwing all of her grenades and Tediore guns at her.

This sounds like one of those things where it starts off okay and shits the bed at the end and everyone's pissed off, isn't it?

Posting the superior version.

Attached: Maya.png (850x1202, 1.26M)

Why the fuck Amara and Moze are so... unattractive?
The game has various random girl NPCs who look miles better than them.
Just run around Sanctuary ship for example.
Cool tomboys all around.

what drugs do you think clarke was on during the whole time he was recording for this character?

>So then she spent the next five minutes shooting Ava and throwing all of her grenades and Tediore guns at her.
how could lilith do this

yep very much so

Not canon.

Moze is cute

Why didnt they try the seasonal approach like PoE and Diablo? With more focus on endgame crap.

No fkn idea, but its from the 2k site

>"Tina is omnipresent," says Sam Winkler, Lead Writer on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

playwonderlands.2k.com/news/dev-diary-2-friends-foes-and-firepower/

Considering we were supposed to get a scene that made Ava actually relatable instead of a whining, entitled brat, and how little Tyreen seems to care when Troy dies, that's not surprising in the slightest. I'd like to get a rerelease where the story isn't just like, background noise for the gameplay, but that's not happening. Amazing how 3 probably has the most robust and interesting mechanics of the games, but fails in the story so hard.

Isn't that what the holiday events are supposed to be?

Attached: Maurice.png (816x459, 753.24K)

>Originally Troy was supposed to betray Tyreen but that got changed.
I was so convinced that it will happen and Troy will be the endboss after force sucking Tyreen.

Its bizarre that they intended to make her a lead character but left that scene out, players wouldnt have thought shes such a cunt. Read a couple of times that people reckon its fake tho, they made it after the backlash to try and rescue the character.

JUST GIVE ME A BANDIT CHARACTER FOR FUCK SAKE I LOVE THERE ASTHETHIC BUT THE ONLY THING CLOSE IS KRAIG I WANNA GO HAM AS GOLITHE OR SUMMON A BUNCH OF MIDGETS PLEASE

>People pay for a game that removes things that they like
I'm glad I stopped liking this series. I know I would have enjoyed those sounds.

Thing is, bl1 didnt have much in the way of story, but hj in 2 was such a hit they had to try and shoehorn muh story in subsequent games.

So I signed up for shift back in 2012 when I was playing BL2, I was going through the email attached cleaning it up the other day and found some emails I got from Gearbox about projects they were working on, being Starlight 3 which does not exist outside of an non-updated website in years and Project1v1 which apparently still exists and was delayed because of the pandemic despite being announced in 2017.

Pic related for another great randy quote.

Attached: Screen Shot 2022-01-30 at 9.49.15 pm.png (824x533, 84.4K)

hold on I just actually read the email and it wasn't Gearbox saying they were making it, it was Gearbox telling fans to support the crowd fund on fig which got 400k of it's 800k goal.

Why is Randy emailing people to crowd fund a game?

The games all pretty much have the same story with different wrapping paper. Which isn't necessarily bad, but the fact that 3 tried to copy 2 to such a degree only to fuck it up by trying too hard is annoying. The pieces were there, even if we stick to the same streamer theme for Tyreen, they just executed it poorly.

Like, if you're gonna send me on 10+ hours of fetch quests, I'm fine with that, no issues here, but at the very least the reason for those fetch quests can't actively detract from the experience, which happens more often than not in 3.

Janey Springs was such a dogshit character
>"nice" but bland as anything
>never, ever funny
>here's a poem I made - no surprises here it's completely unfunny
>did she tell you she's a lesbian? Let's remind you
>oh and unlike Scooter we aren't going to rip her for it - look she got that woman's number she's a successful lesbian!
>go kill this guy as a mission because he's a bigot
>besides nice and lesbian her 3rd super interesting character trait is she doesn't like this one type of alien that killed her sister
Pure irredeemable dogshit. They completely failed at aussies in space.

do you really think that was the "original plan"?
that shit looked more like a copout from gearbox in order to tone down the backlash on ava

I want to believe they wouldn't order their VAs back into the studio just to do a scene after the fact to make people like her more but I don't have any faith that Gearbox wouldn't do something that scummy.

Is borderlands 3 worth getting. i think it is on sale on steam right now

Most people on Pandora are running from something or are just greedy treasure hunters. For example, Roland and Axton went AWOL in their respective militaries and Pandora is where they're least likely to get court martialed because it's a lawless hell hole. Gaige is running from the cops, Maya was running from her cult, Zero wants a challenge. It was never that there was never anything better, 2 even mentions Promethea being worse than Pandora a few times (which they didn't show very well in 3), it was simply that it was the only place that met their needs as a place to hide out from the law or fulfill their dreams of fortune and fame.

Still not as bad as Raving Retribution was gutted

wait, didn't borderlands 1 say there could only be 1 or 2 siren's active at the same time in the galaxy?
was just just retconned so they could shove more strong women in?

Def. Huge amount of content and replayability. Its fun af.

>best character is in D

Attached: smallclap.gif (100x100, 23.3K)

I totally would though if not for the fact she'd kill me instantly because of drain touch.

than ill buy the base game and wait for the dlc to be at a decent price. i already have a ton of game to play

doppelganger was legit fucking bronken in pre-sequel. i remember abusing his close respawn to regain health all the time. gaige was also fun as fuck in 2 and the only characters i liked playing in that damn game. claptrap was only fun to use with multiple people.

That's funny actually because Borderlands 3 taught me how much I don't care about the Borderlands lore because the parts that made everyone mad didn't phase me in the slightest. They were on the cusp of something interesting when it looked like whats-his-fuck was going to accidentally drink Tyreen like a smoothie because he couldn't control his energy absorption, but eventually it just became the lilith hour, and I don't care. Again. Without even bothering to payoff the shit from the end of the presequel, which I didn't play because I hate when they try to pass standalone DLC off as a brand new game.

Handsome Jack's VA was good**
The character was an incongruous mess

yeah, this way it's sort of fun. But they still try to stress you by giving way too many guns without the chance to test them. I have to constantly slow down the game and run back into parts of the level I am not supposed to be to sort out guns. That should be the most fun part of the game, but leftie commmie pedo trash had to ruin that.

>At least in 2 you could specialise down multiple playstyles
Did we played the same game? PreSequel has all of those, not BL2

So why did they make literally everything Lilith's fault in Pre-Sequel?
Then why in 3 did they do nothing but jerk off Lilith the entire time?

Attached: THEBEST.png (1121x657, 447.17K)

Moze being her gunslut was my headcanon.

Attached: original.jpg (1062x979, 258.81K)

I wouldn't say unattractive, but it's probably because of that musclegirls fetish of mine.

Attached: big mommy siren gf.jpg (300x168, 9.45K)

After having context about him with pre-sequel
Literally what did he do wrong
He was totally justified

Why does it feel like Lilith is actually the main character of the game instead of you, the player, who does all of the work?

Bad writing, like pretty much everything else in the game.

gameplay good. writing horrendous

Tyreen was no doubt a terrible character, but her unrelenting bratty persona gave me the big horny.
