Do you think some pokemon aren't bad designs. They just are in the wrong franchise.Or some are good designs and they could fit into other pokemon.
>Klawf if this was a Paper Mario TYD mini-boss no one would be saying jack shit. >Ceruledge and Armarouge They look like cyber-elves Ceruledge could go either way, but Armarouge is definitely a cyber elf. Reploids have more detailed legs >Trevant again could be a paper mario enemy easily >Chandelure could easily be a heartless with a few minor tweaks >sawk and throh look like off brand muppets
Armarouge and Ceruledge would be fine if they didn't have random details and markings added to every inch of their body. Koraidon, Miraidon and Grafaiai have the same problem too. At least there's Smoliv and Klawf to balance it all out. Seriously, those are the only two decent designs from SV so far. What the fuck is wrong with GF's designers this Gen?
Hudson Long
I actually agree with this take. Most new pokemon designs aren't bad, they just don't feel like pocket monsters. Even the new starters seem like OCs rather than a fantastical species.
Josiah Sullivan
No. The fact they still hold themselves to their creative rules is obvious, artstyles change and evolve (it's why toryiama eyes died after Gen 1, anime artstyles had started to shift and GF reacted to stay attractive to kids) but the ruleset they enforce stays consistent.
Daniel Brooks
armarouge doesn't have consistent details. It has detailed armor, but it's legs and arms look like they are made of felt. Similar to cyber elves. It needed more detail in the legs
yup Super paper mario to be exact. Exactly, it's been that way for the last 3 gens. Seeing more than one greninja or primarina in one place is kinda weird dude.
nah b, those legs are too stick like, gyrados has detail and so do the nidos. Stop that
Colton Young
off brand because they're much better than shitppets or because you're too mentally retarded to come up with something better than the muppets?
Benjamin Adams
You really gonna look at this and tell me they look like they're from the same franchise?
Klawf feels like it would be right at home in a Sonic game where its an Eggman crabmeat robot.
Ceruledge and Armarouge look like Megaman ZX characters.
Trevant looks fine but like a mid tier evolution that is desperately missing a third phase. Doesn't help that its pathetically short.
Chandelure does look like a Kingdom Hearts reject, I can't deny that, but it still looks better than any pokemon from XY or SwSh.
Sawk & Throh do look like shitty muppets and serve no purpose other than being Unovan knockoffs of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Same with Conkeldurr who also looks like a crappy muppet and is just a Machamp for Unova.
Most of the mon is SwSh look like Yokai Watch rejects.
Kevin Hill
>yup Super paper mario to be exact. Same. Stonjourner looks so out of place I almost wondered if it was a cruel joke when it was first revealed.
Christian Edwards
electabuzz with a little bitof anatomy and some clothes could have easily been a Breath of fire race. eh, kirby is a little bit more inconsistent, enemies can be simple, but there can be really detailed endbosses or fully muscular dudes.
Same line style, same colur saturation, same shading, same art style. Only difference is Deoxys is slightly more detailed than Golbat due to it being larger.
Yeah, they definitely look like they're from the same franchise.
Nathan Hernandez
Large portion of 1 gen could easily pass as your generic JRPG mobs. (probably because they clearly was meant to look like that, copying DragonQuest mobs)
When you directly compare Pokémon's designs (specifically Gen 1) to the other monster catching franchises of the time, it's so easy to see why Pokémon instantly became such a global success, while the others flopped in comparison.
