There's something about this species. Normally, it's grouped with Trubbish & Grimer lines. However, those two are clearly artificial accidents, whether it be direct Pokedex statements or implications.

There's nothing to imply that Koffing & Weezing are an artificial species. In fact, in a lot of games, they're native to volcanoes (RSE Fiery Path, DPPt Stark Mountain) or at least near it (Cinnabar Island, known for being destroyed by a volcano). What I'm implying here is that they were a natural species that lived in volcanoes and were only drawn out by pollution, and unlike Grimer & Muk who are dying out due to pollution being cleaned, Koffing & Weezing can just return to volcanoes and eat all the volcano things.

Obviously their Galarian counterparts are far removed from the whole volcano thing, seeing how they've developed a typing that's not very effective against Fire, which might be a sign that that population has lived far from volcanoes for far too long.

How to sexualize a Koffing?

Any depiction of Koffing/Weezing past Pokemon Red and Blue is not canon. They are pollution, simple as.

They probably feed off the poisonous gases that volcanoes create

Galarian forms eat pollution too don't they?

They have always been about pollution. Their Japanese name is LA which is names after Los Angeles because of the cities pollution.

They already exist in the form of Galarian Weezing at the time of PLA, whereas Voltorb is a Grass type. Unless Galarian is somehow the original, it fair to say they existed before humans could cause them to come about.

Carbon dioxide is produced naturally from multiple sources, including venting from volcanoes, but its association with air pollution is attributed almost entirely to human activity.

Nevermind, forgot it is still regular koffing. So obviously Koffing was before anyway.

I think the idea that they just exist around large amounts of carbon dioxide makes sense. They still exist prior to the Industrial Revolution but only in volcanoes, whereas after they exist all over due to human activity.

And since Legends probably takes place in the mid to late 1800s, Galarian Weezing existing still makes sense

>Their Japanese name is LA
No, it isn't. Koffing is D O G A R S.

Makes sense.
Galarian Weezing reacting to Galar's industrial revolution wouldn't make sense if the species was already born from human industry to begin with.

So much fanfiction itt. It's the equivalent of believing Darth Vader really was an angsty teenager who hates sand

>they're native to volcanoes
I guess they are just smoke themed rather than poison clouds? They are mostly associated with smokescreen and smog and the closest type to that would just be poison.
Put your dick in one of the smoke nipples and watch it puff up until your jizz squirts out of every other hole

Cope

> guess they are just smoke themed rather than poison clouds?
yeah it's not like they have the toxic symbol stamped on their body or anything

>#119. Koffing: The thin-skinned, balloon-like body is filled with a powerfully toxic gas. Getting too close to this foul-smelling Pokémon makes eyes flood with tears. First discovered in a munitions factory, their habitat has been growing in recent years.
You were saying?

>literally born from chemical weapons manufacturing processes
that's kind of dark...

Autism speaks.

They're in cinnabar island because the volcanic ash is toxic/bad for lungs. They're based on feeding on toxicity and are a literal tumor ball, in nature the closest to that is natural toxic gasses. In Galar they simply evolve to transform that toxicity into clean air that they spew out, although the fairy type is there just for flavor and doesn't really make sense

It's literally this.

>First discovered in a munitions factory
where is this from?

There was in the Zukan.
