Cars are a depreciating asset, lots of rich people don't put much money into them since they know they'll always lose value.

There's also the people who bought homes before they shot up in price and are too poor now to afford nice cars, but still have the house.

I care about what I drive but not in the normie sense of new=good. I buy exclusively reliable and tidy used cars, my goal as I get richer is to abe able to daily mint condition 60s cars
