Europe has so many regulations compared to the rest of the world that they are totally insular.

Literally the sick man of Europe is the entire continent. Every side of the aisle is too retarded to realize they need to find a niche for the 21st century and have something to offer the rest of the world. Instead, Germany prepares for a gas free winter and they can't even sabre rattle with Russia because their military isn't ready for a war.
The continent has lost confidence in itself (you can tell by the birth rates), and willingly agrees when all the major populations agree to fix people having less kids for mother nature, by importing millions of Africans.

Western Europe was colonized by the US as a series of minor protectorates after ww2.

They traded economic and cultural sovereignty for military protection against communist aggression and the semblance of political independence; though this independence was subject to EU approval, essentially a US colonialist institution to organize Europe in a manner similar to US federalism, though lacking the checks and balances that would allow it to pursue independent policy.

As with most colonialism, the effect of essentially replacing all the traditional cultural values of Europe with this sterile doctrine of tolerance engineered to keep the nations dependent and subservient had devastating societal ramifications.

The most visible was tanking the birthrate - much like what had happened to the Indians under USA colonization. The only possible way to stave off complete societal economic collapse was to replace the unborn generations with immigrants, which has effectively destroyed the last shreds of cultural integrity in the countries that have welcomed it.

The americanization of the economy played a role as well; replacing traditional businesses and industries with corporate chains concerned only with profit extraction - though in this, at least, they fared far less badly than America herself.

Finally - to prevent these nations with externally imposed governments divorced from traditional values from falling to the neighboring pressure of communism the governments adopted many socialist policies that still persist making meaningful change impossible

America may be a shadow of what it once was but we're still the 2nd biggest economy and still have people who remember what matters in life. political Ideologies, religion, a mostly shared culture that forces others to adhere to it to some degree, innovative thinking, etc.

Bullshit. Hungary was able to make some simple policy changes that brought up their birthrate within a few years. Stop with the victim mentality, France welcomed the US in WW2 and Germany could kick the US military out anytime it wished to but their people don't want them to leave despite the occasional rape cases, same as Okinawa except some of them actually protest en masse on occasion.

Germany can't saber rattle even if it were militarily able since they'll suddenly find all their NATO "allies" and the U.S forces within Germany attacking & sabotaging it.
