last time I bought a car was at the end of 2017 right around the peak of the bullrun.
Sold half my btc and bought two cars for me and my wife. Plus vacations and otheer bullshit.
The cars were nothing too fancy but brand fucking new. And paid in full. Felt great.
Now what I cashed out would have been worth ten of those cars. But whatever.
The next bullrun I will cash out the other half to pay off my house. Lets go!!

Man I'm 30 and finally trying to get my license in Quebec. Shit's fucking impossible. 13 months, 1000$ for mandatory lessons upfront, and at the end, used cars are exorbitantly priced. As an American citizen, I could feign residency in Vermont (which has lax fraud laws that I would not be technically breaking), only their housing prices have gone through the roof. Fuck Canada and Fuck Quebec.

Cars cost 1000 a month with all costs included even for a moderately shit one. Then shitloads of tax is wasted on building the infrastructure that forces everyone to need one. Building and maintaining roads costs shitloads more than trains and side walks

And even after that there still isn’t ONE car company that hasn’t gone bankrupt/needed bailouts. These companies are worse than fucking banks and the only reason they are still in business is because they paid the government to build infrastructure that excludes everything but cars, including the most basic form of transport which is walking.

Not only are massive amounts of your taxes being used to force you to buy a car, which is then another 1k a month, your taxes are also bailing them out every 10 years when they go bankrupt cos “too big to fail”

Why the fuck am I forced to give my money to these parasite companies that are clearly unable to make a good product?

And the irony is nobody likes cars. That’s why when you buy property, if the apartment is 50 yards from a train station or some car free area the price goes through the fucking roof.

Dealerships have been short approximately 400k cars for the last 20 months. This will continue well into 2025 and possibly 2030 as manufacturing struggles to get anyone under the age of 55 in.

i got my license at 38 i didn't drive enough after and shared a car with my retired mom and dad. i would use it once a week it was cheaper than a car share
