Everybody apart from the USA is fucking irrelevant at this point and the reason is because of AI and yes I know DeepMind is really a UK based operation but fundamentally they're owned by Alphabet.
Nothing in China can come close to Alphabet's DeepMind or Open AI. Chinks might be able to fake academic results and fudge their figures on the size of their transformer models but when it comes down to it, they dont release anything in the way of tech demos like GPT3, DALL-E 2, PaLM etc because they're fucking incapable.
Early domination of AI will lead to an exponentially growing difference in economic power which will only accelerate American hegemony.
