>once per battle >each Pokemon has a Tera type, but some species can have more than 1 like Eevee >changes type to its Tera type, boosts corresponding moves >power boost stacks with STAB
It's early but I'm really optimistic about this, unless the power boost is retarded. But even then it would just be glorified Z moves which is much more balanced than dynamax.
all these ugly, obnoxious gimmicks have got to go. this looks fucking ridiculous
Lucas Cooper
>You can Terastallize a Pokémon once per battle, and the transformation will last until the battle ends. This tells me nothing at all Does the effect end when I switch out? Can I do the thing with every pkmon in my party once or just once to one of them?
Carson Reed
>There are 18 types, meaning there are countless combinations of Pokémon and Tera Types. That's fucking awesome
Leo Gomez
>wasted by mono types not awesome desu
Noah Baker
At least it won’t lead to cool new designs that you’ll never be able to use again
Nolan Parker
So say you’re Fire/Fighting and you tera into just fighting, and use a fighting move, it gets double stab right?
Henry Moore
It seems pretty clear cut to me.
>last until battle ends They wouldn't say this if it ends when you switch out
>Terastalize a Pokemon once per battle It would say "each Pokemon" if you could use it with your whole party.
Jayden Jenkins
It literally answer's your questions
Brayden Rodriguez
So this is why Hidden Power got cut.
Ryder Morales
This gimmick allows for way more battle strategy variety than the previous gimmicks. It's the revised return of Hidden Power.
>>each Pokemon has a Tera type, but some species can have more than 1 like Eevee user im sorry
Tyler Edwards
fucking idiot
Camden Baker
I'm more curious if this means you can access new moves of certain types. Like, could I possibly get a water tera Houndoom with Water Pulse for example?
Aaron Fisher
They really took hidden power out of the game and turned it into a one-off gimmick.
Adam Green
This is nothing like Hidden Power, can you read?
Samuel Lewis
I thought every species can have one of multiple Tera types.
Colton Gutierrez
It is literally hidden power with some bling and damage increases slapped to it.
Sebastian Evans
The event Pikachu implies that every individual Pokemon has a specific Tera type. It's just like HP.
Hudson Murphy
Tera gives you a new move of a different type? If you don’t have x type coverage move, turning in to that type won’t suddenly give you a move. It’s literally not even in the same universe as hidden power.
Liam Clark
>keeps the strategy of dynamax not being bound by itemshit and being usable on every pokemon but it isn't as outrageous of a power boost
easily the best designed gimmick so far.
Dylan Rivera
So when do you think you'll be able to change Tera types? DLC #1? DLC #2? Never?
Christopher Kelly
>last until the battle ends >does the effect end before the battle is over or what?!?!
Xavier Robinson
Terastalizing changes a Pokemon's type and is limited to 1 specific type to boost moves it learns, Hidden Power lets any Pokemon use any type of move. They have very minimal similarities.
Jordan Perez
It has only 1 (one) thing in common with Hidden Power and that is that your Pokemon has a type attached to it on birth. Stop spouting that nonsense.
Colton Perry
It's like HP in the way that each Pokemon has a randomly-assigned type.
>sweeper ohkos you with a resisted double stab hit lmao
Nolan Stewart
It's a visually ambitious feature that Switch hardware can't do justice. Throw it in Ryujinx or Yuzu with 4K rendering and other rendering enhancements and it will probably pop.
Hudson Rivera
>but some species can have more than 1 like Eevee You mean shillmons
Liam Jones
It wouldn't surprise me if there are some moves that change typing based on a Pokémon's terastallization. But, we'll see.
Anthony James
They did the same thing with the elemental gems getting cut in Gen 6 and replaced with Z-moves in Gen 7
Joseph King
Cope, it's hidden power but now your opponent knows what type it is before you use it.
