Because it's iconic and they're afraid of risk. Also Japanese characters lend themselves better to artwork.

Marketability.

Americans are notoriously dumb and ADD/ADHD infects most of us. You change the logo and you confuse Americans and get less sales.

Brand recognition. And it works.

They changed it for Arceus and it hasn't done so well kek

How did Americans end up with such mental problems?

Leaded gasoline, mainly.

>soulful logos (in the west) started with gen 6
lol

Leaded water too, lol

>International design
>Murica

Leaded porn

High fructose corn syrup

Leaded hamburgers too

High fructose lead

>make the franchise marketable to teens and young adults in addition to children
>change the logo to reflect the change
>still call them pokemon in the games

>Also Japanese characters lend themselves better to artwork.
