Did Lance's Dragonite have Multiscale? Usually abilities are explicitly pointed out by other characters (like how Iris pointed out Ash's Dracovish having Strong Jaw), Lance's Dragonite was just really bulky
Goodra aside, I really like Diantha's team.
It tanked both a Blizzard and Rock Slide when there's no way that would be possible outside of hax so it was either Multiscale or le plot armor. But what's the difference between the two anyway?
Plot armor confirmed because Rock Slide would have finished it off with so little HP left if the odds were in the Dragonite's favor.

Diantha and Gardevoir were intentionally letting Greninja beat her up. Some 90 pound woman could beat a male MMA fighter if he just intentionally let her punch him until she won.
It was more the writers completely ignored the fact Diantha's Gardevoir was part-Fairy and rammed its moveset full of Psychic moves. Mind, that was the only way they could have Ash stay in touch with her, had they given it Moonblast or Dazzling Gleam, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
