This designs are just outright lame. Most of the previous protags had outfits that were at least either cool, interesting or stylish. You can't even hide behind the customization excuse with these protags because you're forced to wear some variant of the uniform no matter what. they have to shower in their uniforms and theyre only allowed to change their clothes if they can fit a new uniform under or over their clothes beforehand.

the leaker confirmed that customization is limited and all the clothing options are school uniform related, just different variantions of them, so basically we have to play the games in a uniform, its fucking retarded, always 1 step forward, 10 steps back with gamefreak.

I feel like the "adventure" in gen 9 will be school project related, since you likely attend a trainer's school. These schools were present in almost every game except in Galar. And it being missing gen 8 might have been because of the massive focus it's getting in gen 9. So on the one hand you have a recurring element fleshed out, but on the other it's being done in a less than ideal way if the leaks are true of the final version of the game.

It's not even that they made the art references for them bland.
It's that the in-game representations look off-model, which is, in a lot of ways, distracting since it's what people will be familiar with for the larger part of the game experience.
Whoever decided to give them plush lips need to be taken out back and unceremoniously shot.

The game itself looks like it was made by Koreans/western developers rather than nips.

I remember everyone hated the SwSh MC's before the release too. Everyone warmed up to Gloria tho because of Scottish memes.
