The Hisuian starters are great(more interesting than their classic forms), but agreed otherwise

They're better than the swish starters but samurott in oarticular is still not great

1: classics
2: solid
3: going in a new direction and doing it well
4: very solid
5: quality slipped a bit but not by too much, although another fire/fighting is a bit silly
6: seems to have settled on always being bipedal... not a fan but at least the designs aren't terrible on their own

Not really. Gen 5 was the worst and they haven't made anything remotely as bad since.

Typhlosion has some missed potential and Samurott is too similar to the original, but otherwise agreed.

Top tier are gen 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 with also the base ones for gen 8 which only fail at last stage. With also a clear peaking in gen 5, 6 and 7, and he'll, 9 too if it wasn't that the cat is just too vague and similar to Litten.
