Will we ever get another game targeted at older teens like the one set in Orre

Pokemon Coliseum was a jewel and it’s concepts should come to the Nintendo switch and the main series of games

Thread official theme

Pokémon coliseum was targeted at teens. The initial game was target at 10-11 year olds. Original audience was about 17 when the game would be released so they made Pokémon coliseum more competitive/difficult, edgier with the color schemes and storyline, and made the protagonist an anti-hero

I think I was 8 when it came out and the edgier tone was exactly what I wanted in a pokemon game.

Closest is arceus but….

Much of the fan base would prefer a more serious or edgier tone.

Look at the popularity of fan made jacks like Pokémon Uranium or Pokémon insurgence.

They have the equivalent of “dark Pokémon” and deeper more serious story.

Because they're literally children.

not really specially in japan

Imagine if they even remade them in 4K instead of 480p they were made in

66% of sales come from overseas in America and Europe.

And the lion's share of merch revenue comes from Japan. If Japan isn't behind it, it won't sell (anything connected to XY that wasn't the frog, for instance).
Meaning, the games will remain as so, to keep Japan happy and buying merch vs selling a few million more to burgertards and eurocucks and losing out on billions of yen in toy profits.

They still care about the Japanese market which is why they freaked out when Yokai Watch took their core Japanese kid audience for a couple years.

The player is 15 in Legends Arceus.

So because Japanese folks are autistic we cannot consistently get better games like legend of arceus?

Executives of TPCI said "No" already
For some reason they want to distance themselves from the Coliseum games

I don't know about that. Niantic was allowed to bring back shadow pokémon.

And you forget Japan not only basically pays its defense budget with US money but got back on its feet with heavy US intervention.
Maybe they shouldn't casually disregard 'burger' sales.
