You've got a lot of options including indie stuff. The problem with Pokémon fans is they're obsessed with Pokémon as a brand and lifestyle instead of just enjoying the games or anime. The ones I posted are solid, Monster Crown is another fun one though the type system it has is confusing and breeding is retarded in it. I'm literally getting more enjoyment out of my Digimon Vital Bracelet than any Pokémon product in the last 5 or 6 years.

DQM's a pretty solid choice for looking into too, the first game's a dungeon crawling classic and the others are varying levels between alright and good.
