Any Forums likes silver and gold, but why is noone speaking about divisible gold bars?

truely the patricians currency. each one of these badboys is currently worth a bit over $55, so the equivalent of a $50 banknote roughly. of course, im talking about transactions for a few hundred dollars or more. silver bars like this can be used for smaller purchases

back in the 1920's, $5 would buy you a suit or 2.5 grams of gold. currently, $5 buys you a big mac, or cheap chinese tie, while the 2.5 grams of gold can still buy you a suit, even if a mediocre one.

why are we still using fiat for larger purchases? this block worth over $5000 takes less space than $5000. it maintains value better. most likely the relative space it takes in 20 years, will be even lower compared to current fiat.

"herpaderp, people will make tungsten bars and cover it with gold". yeah maybe, we also have fake bank notes, whats your fucking point.

I suppose it would be good for trading if the economy collapsed, beyond that they seem overpriced.

Gold didn't mean shit in the dark ages boomer retard. Guns and food matter. Everyone in the shiny rocks general is an idiot

High premiums.
I highly suggest buying the old currency.
Spend the silver save the gold

>paying a premium for pure gold to rub around in your wallet/pocket and forcing people to check spot price for every transaction

sounds pretty based

nigga we have computers and shit now we can divide a number 1000000+ times and send any monies, youre so dated grandpa enjoy your rocks

Well, if you attempt to use violence in barter or if your community feels you to be violent or dangerous they will kill you.
You need to cooperate to survive.

someone post the meme about these where the guy pays the cashier with one piece and tells her to keep the change (like 30 bucks) and then crip walks off

premiums can be as low as %5 for these things, gold is currently low relative to inflation, what the fuck are you talkikng about overpriced? your dollars are overpriced

the problem is we will lose credit.
People won't have faith. Food or useful items can also be good currency until we figure something out.

"do you have anything smaller, sir?"

Cause they're hung up on their retarded silver hypothesis, and want you to buy silver, with the hope that somehow, an industrial metal with a low stock/flow ratio will be re-monetized.

infiinitely divisible, value decreasing sure sounds weak compared to holding value, buddy

newfag revolution

I'm not talking about a complete societal collapse, if we got extreme inflation they would be worth having. And even after a complete collapse things will stabilize enough for people to start trading with precious metals over bags of grain eventually.

*takes out silver divisible bars*, why yes, i do!

imma sell 1% of my squidgrow bag when it hits $30bn by eoy and buy 500 of these divisible gold bars.

one little bit of these is worth $50, but in the collapse i betcha it gets at least 1 month worth of food.

*offers more in gold plated lead* sorry buddy, but I'll be taking this one

*whips out the gold testing kid*, hah, in your face, kid

I’ll be thinking of you as I cum on my gold bars tonight

Awesome, now I just need to take my divisible gold, divisible silver, and gold testing kit everywhere I go! The future of finance is here

better than losing 95% of your value over 100 years. either way, as this becomes normal, you can expect most busineses to start having the kits in location for testing. you overestimate the complexity of this. nothing is worse than seeing the value of your dollars dwindle, from a holding value of fiat or gold perspective

gold hasnt retained its value over the past 10 years adjusted for inflation. i dont hold fiat, i hold btc stocks bonds and commodities including some gold and silver. i think you overestimate golds ability to be used as an effective currency, hence the introduction of the gold-backed notes. if you were smart, you would understand that the only real threat to btc is a gold-backed, decentralized cryptocurrency. this doesnt exist yet, however many mints worldwide offer gold backed crypto right now. you need to wake up to the wide world of financial products and diverse economies that exist to understand why a gold based economy will never exist again in the forms of old.
