I've made so many threads crying on how all I needed in life is a scooter or motorbike so I wouldn't need to walk 10km every time I want to buy food on grocery.
I've decided I will rent a motorbibke for $50 a week but first I need a motorbike drive license(yes it exist on my country)
And to get the motorbike drive license will cost $200USD
This is it, this is my dream this is all I ever wanted this will help me give better quality of life to me and my family.
Anybody willing to help somehow? I will post picture and everything once I take the drive license.
Is motorbike a wise investment?
What country?
And yes, it’s a great investment as a first vehicle if you don’t live where it snows alot, and if you are not a retard. I bet you’re SEAn, South American or Balkaner due to pic. Honda Wave is an excellent everyday bike and I really don’t understand why we do not see more of these in the West
South america...
They a great mtorbike with it's 125cc engine it can do everything one need, period.
In my country people use them to buy grocery and take family member around, having a vehicle simple improves the quality of life of any individual.
I'm 23y and yet haven't touch a vehicle in my life, I dream with it 24/7..
Anybody willingly to help?
Isn't $50/week a lot? Considering the bike's price and that you need confirmation for a $200 purchase
Rent or buy either way just go get the license
Where I am in the US they make you take a class for 2 weekends and pay $250 to take a test for your motorcycle endorsement. Why are you acting like it is weird?
And how are you going to haul groceries with a bike? How do you get groceries now? What the heck?
Not alot at all because I will use the motorbike to work so it will pay itself, the problem is that I only have $50 that's how broke I am right now.. I need $200 to get the drive license..
I didn't know in USA you needed a motorcycle drive license.. interesting.
It's super easy to buy grocery on a bike, many ways around it I can buy all my monthly grocery with it
Right now I just carry it all the way back home on my backpack.. I walk 5km to the grocery then 5km back with 6kg of food on my back I'm 23y and been doing this forever ,I can't handle this anymore, the terrain on my country is very mountain type and it's damaging my knees and back
> And how are you going to haul groceries with a bike? How do you get groceries now? What the heck?
You tell them
Remember to sign up as an organ donor before you get on one of those death traps. One cager not paying attention, and you're a dead man.
Im a SEA dweller, that bike is priced around $1200-1300 in my country but most people who want new bike will buy an automatic scooter because it's easier to put stuffs than that bike.
People can haul anything on a motorbike here like pic related the only thing that stops them is traffic law lmao.
this
over here they just put in the back box of the motorbike or something it's not really that hard
monthly grocery is usually 10kg or so of food and it's fairly easy to transport this weight on a motorbike..
In Europe I can only assume it's because men who pee sitting down prefer scooters. In the US it's because a 125cc is too slow for highways so they're relegated to secondary vehicle status in 95% of the country by land area.
street riding is simply too dangerous. you have millions of demented boomers who are drooling out their mouth still driving. you have Stacy dming Chad and her bvll at the same time while shopping for a dress on the phone behind the wheel not paying attention.
you are just asking to die and this is coming from someone who rides in a first world country. I've switched over to solely track riding now. fuck the street.
On my maxi scooter I can carry 50L under the seat and 50 L in the top box, enough for 4 bags of groceries aces I can wear a backpack for a 5th bag of groceries
I know people here who drive motorbike literally everyday for 20 years now and they depend on it to work and they are still alive..
Maybe usa is even more dangerous than some third worlder because in USA everybody and their dog can have a car and its cheaper and the population is larger and people barely had any drive teaching and they dont care if they hit their car, many equations to the point.
Purchasing one? Sure, it's a great first vehicle.
Renting one? No.
A 125cc Chinese bike is sub-$1000.
At $50/week you could pay that off in 20 weeks or approximately 5 months.
By purchasing it, you'll store some equity in the vehicle itself should you decide to sell it later on.
Either way, just don't ride in snow/rain/slippery terrain or you'll probably die.
Alternatively, get a DIY 80cc kit that you can strap onto a bicycle. I got one on amazon for $180 and can get up to 28mph (45km/hr) on it. Pic related is my build. Bicycle+motor kit was $350 all together.
Bikes are cheap enough that renting for any length of time vs buying probably isn't worthwhile vs reselling unless you really think.
Learn what you can about the bike (how much are consumables like tires/oils, how available are parts, how/what tools are needed to replace them, how to adjust/lube the chain, what to look for when buying one used) and you should be fine, scooters are very mature vehicles at this point. 125cc is fine as long as you don't need high speeds or steep hill climbing.
Also at least a little of riding technique is worth learning like panic stops (how long does it take you to stop at full speed?), evading hazards at speed and push steering. A helmet with a chin card is worth considering also despite the hassle as the chin is the most likely part to make contact in a fall.
that's nuts. i remember gas powered bicycles before ebikes were a thing.
i have a 1000w self convert ebike that goes around the same speed as yours
where in SA?
Charming ESL post. I thought South Americans just used scooters to roll up and kill their rivals on.
Honda Wave is probably the easiest bike there is to work on. Very minimalist and parts are easily available everywhere
The engine is the same as Grom
Anybody here willing to help me out with the $200?
They're pretty cool whichever way you go. I've been considering converting to a hybrid.
you have to give me your sister as collateral
