>2030: A "sleep replacement" has been invented. >More and more people start taking it so they can work 14 hours a day. >More employers start only hiring people who are willing to take the sleep replacement pill and work 14 hour shifts.
I would totally take it. I could get way more cooming done.

You will work 24/7 and you wont be tired

This would be amazing if people didn't end up as serial killers or something. Maybe dream/memory consolidation is important
>you vill eat ze bug, take the sleep replacement pill, work 14 hours, sleep in a pod and be happy

>the end game is machines finding your race so endearing they create a 1:1 life simulator to preserve you after you ruined the planet for yourself

AI won't even need humans for our brains computing power since they're already designing biological computers based on human brains which are of course a thousand times better than human brains. It's very strange living through the end of humanity. A lot of people still haven't realized that is what is happening.
Christian Moore
The sleep replacement pill is basically a socialist idea, so workers can work 14 hours a day to build the communist paradise and pay even more taxes.

no single drug is going to prevent all the side effects of not getting enough sleep. and every drug you take to try and combat one effect of sleep deprivation will also introduce some side effects.
all it will be good for is for soldiers on a week or two week mission behind enemy lines to hold back sleep deprivation effects for a while at the expense of something else later.
if humans want not to sleep long term they'd probably need totally different genes.
the most I could see for long term use is drugs that let you go to sleep faster and more effectively so that you only need maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night.
I will sleep 14 hours a day, happy and content, far way from people that keep showing up to their "jobs" every day

Meth is nothing new.

Yeah I’m sure disabling a fundamental biological need won’t have any negative side-effects

You’re going to be priced out of everything once normies are doing 8 hour shifts plus 6 hours overtime at double pay every single day. Normies will wage to this extent of they can and enjoy it. You’ll need to work 14 hours just to afford a big mac.

there is only one animal that technically never sleeps and it’s called the dolphin. they do this by shutting down one half of the brain hemisphere whilst the other half stays awake and runs the show. this will probably be the best humans can achieve, and operating with only half your brain is a major side effect
