Yep. That's why btc is a shit shit asset. Multiple years of gains can get wiped with one bad year. Alts are the way to go. You just gotta dca out in bull markets and never throw that same money back in until the bear market lows

Got some good picks during the 2020 COVID pump bullrun and made it to 6 figs from a measly 5k. It was insane but then things giga dumped and I lost a lot but I was able to take some profits so it wasn’t a complete fail for me

Remember hearing about btc pump to 15k to first time. A few months late I was hooked on the gains not realizing I was in the bull run then after New Years I was caught in the 2018 dump..
I gave up hope and forgot about crypto until I saw that COVID obliterated all markets so I decided to get in coins insanely cheap and they eventually recovered +more it blasted me into money I’d never even think to have just sitting there

come 2022 and i havent held more than $15k worth of btc and my parents tell me daily how badly they regret not buying when i told them 9 years ago as they drown in 5 figures of credit card debt while literally 1 is a decade past retirement age and the other is a decade away, owning no home and no mortgage.
