Everyone on here and on other boards loves saying this, but nobody can ever actually explain why. You doomers just post pictures of trannies and things like that and vaguely say 'oh this will crash the system.' Doomers never even say what exactly 'collapse' means. Will the power go out? Will everyone just drop dead? Why will any of this happen? They never have any real answers and they never even really have any firm predictions. Sure you can say "all past empires have eventually collapsed" but it's not like Rome just turned into Mad Max one day. And that's not really an impressive prophecy, that's like saying "one day in the future I will die."

they're right but they aren't thinking about it in the right way. in their minds it's a cataclysmic event that instantly changes everyone's way of life. the "crash" is happening as we speak and has been happening for awhile. there's also this perception that things will revert to a lower state and that everything will suck, when in reality we're crashing forward. it's like a molting process and there's a fresh new skin wriggling and tearing through the old one. it's ugly and painful now, but what will emerge is something new and beautiful
Yes. All foolish humans have a strong negativity bias, it used to help in the caveman environment, better to be expecting a famine and be wrong than to be expecting the berries to last and be wrong. However in thinking about the massive scale machinery of the modern industrialized economy, these biased feeling lead us to wrong conclusions. The way to get it right is to look at the statistics, and the systems. Where exactly is the collapse going to come from? Which specific system is going to stop working? Which commodity is going to cause such scarcity that people start dying? very often there are alternatives to any given commodity.
