Your Anime

Every region is getting a new anime adaptation and you are the main character. What region do you explore? What is your team? Who are your two companions?

I'm deciding to go overboard and do ALL regions so I'm gonna bump this thread so it doesn't die while I'm working on this.

Probably Johto, I feel like in terms of a region worth exploring from the anime's standpoint where the focus can be put on non-badge related tasks it probably would do the best thanks to being more rural than most (bar Sinnoh) and having that untapped history with Alph.

As for team I went with mostly Johto'mons although in some cases the Pokemon starts out as a Gen I or becomes a Gen I Pokemon, all of them are Pokemon I strongly like with Houndoom being my no.1 overall, although I don't think Houndoom or even Houndour would make for a good shoulder'mon but could serve the powerhouse role, Misdreavus meanwhile would fit the shoulder'mon role much better. Ledian would be that early catch akin to most regional birds for Ash. Eevee would be the late bloomer so to speak, y'know one of those Pokemon that stays in its base form for most of the adventure. Kingdra would be a bit of an oddball, because the Horsea line is pretty unusual compared to what most protagonists in the anime have (aside from Misty's Goldeen & Starmie) I figure it'd be a Pokemon that would basically be as much about raising it as well as actually understanding its needs (beyond access to water obviously). Clefable would be the egg'mon given this is Johto after all, probably wouldn't evolve into Clefable though until pretty late like around Blackthorn due to the availability of Moon Stones.

As for companions, I'd think Whitney would fit pretty well given her whole thing of being a sort of rookie trainer with hidden strength. Eusine meanwhile obviously would be more significant for the Alph stuff as well as legendary beasts and tower duo, basically giving the incentive for the trio with different reasons to travel the region. Plus you'd get some interesting situations like Goldenrod where Whitney would probably be well aware of Misdreavus' immunity to Normal-Types and so would have a secret weapon Pokemon to counter it.

>Johto
always been my favorite. i thought about doing Unova because im American but if I were going on a Pokemon journey I think I would want to explore Johto.
>Xatu
My favorite Pokemon. His stats may be mediocre, but he his personality more than makes up for it
>Milotic
Elegant and awesome, requires work and dedication and passion in the form of Feebas and pays you back with a great Pokemon.
>Heracross
STRONG BUG.
>Magnezone
Personally, I actually prefer Magneton's design but Magnezone is just Magneton but better and who am I to force my Pokemon not to evolve!
>Porygon-Z
As someone on the computer 24/7, a Porygon is just fitting.
>Slaking
He may be lazy, but when he decides to put in the work he does a damn good job. Slaking always been a fav of mine

For the companions, I didn't choose notable Pokemon characters because I don't think they would be friends with me realistically. I know it's a fantasy setting, but I just can't really imagine myself being companions with them. I don't really enjoy interacting with people. Hex Maniac and Super Nerd are probably the trainer classes I'm most likely to be able to develop a friendship with so I chose them.

I would challenge all the gyms and try to become champion, but I think I might be an Ash case where my passion doesn't reward much fruit of labor. As long as I'm having fun.

Your theme fits really well with Sinnoh, definitely works well for an anime with it. Your team and companions basically embody what I think of when i think "sinnoh"
Pretty cool team picks. I thought about doing a Regi or Raikou for my team since I really like them, but I ended up deciding against it. Lana is a cutie.
Really cool companion picks and your team is cool as well. I don't know what personality you had in mind when picking Brendan/Ruby (whether he'd be focused on contests or gyms) but either way it's cool. Sidney is definitely an underappreciated Pokemon character. Persian is an underappreciated Pokemon

Continuing from ^
I really like what you did with this and wish I saw it before I posted my reply! Really detailed and neat. Whitney is actually exactly who I had in mind as my companion as I have a creepy crush... but I think I definitely wouldn't get along with her in most life scenarios.
Eusine is a really cool idea for a plot-driving character and I think that's neat.
Johto is supreme.

Thanks, yeah I'd imagine Whitney would be a bit tricky, I think it would be interesting though to use her crybaby personality as a basis for development. I think it'd be neat to have her as around the fifth Gym Leader that way there'd be substantial time to introduce and develop her character and have the Gym Battle serve as a sort of turning point where she sheds that sore loser mentality and more so begins to enjoy battling simply for battling's sake rather than winning.

I also forgot to do this on the image but in terms of the locations for the five main captures it'd probably be;
> Ledyba - ~Cherrygrove City, likely found in some sort of flowerfield which would be an anime specific location, perhaps an innately tough member of its group that unlike most Ledyba wouldn't flee from the sight of humans in the field
> Houndoom - Violet City, originally being used by Team Rocket to threaten destruction of the Sprout Tower, obviously would be a significant challenge for Misdreavus and Ledyba that early on
> Cleffa Egg - Gifted by the Day-Care Couple, supposedly would've been found in the Day-Care one morning after a meteor shower or something to that effect to hint at the Pokemon within. Likely would be the culmination of a mini-arc involving Prof. Elm and researching Pokemon Eggs
> Eevee - Given by Bill in Goldenrod City, likely originally a runaway from an owner with little proper care for the Eevee, establishing the likely route of evolution
> Horsea - Found in Ecruteak City, proper wild capture out of curiosity, might start a mini-arc that starts hinting at the Dragon Clan of Blackthorn helping main protagonist to get a basic understanding of their Horsea

1/2

As for Whitney and Eusine, I'd imagine Whitney is probably the main wild capturer as she'd have a propensity to catch anything she thinks of as cool and cute, probably ends up catching most normal-type culminating in a battle against an utterly massive Snorlax on Route 46 as the final one. Eusine meanwhile would have a wholly different team to that of his in-game team, more so focused around the mystery of Johto, so he'd probably have an Hoothoot (Noctowl), Unown and Abra (Kadabra) at the very least and maybe gets a fossil'mon and Stantler later on.

I'd still use Team Rocket as the main antagonizing force although perhaps tie their actions into similar actions of the ancient past. They'd probably be running more underground operations and usually disguised as to avoid the in your face syndicate they used to be, might even have Archer serve as the main benefactor to Goldenrod Radio Tower with his role as Team Rocket leader being something unveiled through the group's interaction with Team Rocket.

I'd think the Gym order would probably go; Bugsy -> Falkner -> Morty -> Pryce -> Whitney -> Chuck -> Jasmine -> Clair. Falkner, Morty and Clair would be important to the lore elements of Johto. I think Jasmine would work well as a sort of contrast against the main protagonist and Whitney, being a sort of psuedo-rival due to her Steel-Types being incredibly strong with even Houndoom and Seadra struggling.

Would also likely end up doing several laps of the region, like we'd visit Violet & Ecruteak at least twice and Goldenrod three times as the goals of the group at those particular points would shift with main protagonist realizing they're likely not ready to face the relevant Gym Leader or elements of Whitney or Eusine's arcs being developed during the later visits. One thing I would want to avoid though is introducing too many anime-only settlements, rather add more depth to the existing ones with anime-only areas being more natural landmarks/ruins, etc.

Here my anime, rate
>with chikorita as his companion, user embarks on a pokemon journey! The main plot however starts when it humans and pokemon start getting sick all around the country. user finds a furret dying with a berry next to it, thanks to chikorita's healing abilities (in the pokedex, meganiun line has healing smells) furret is saved and joins user. user however, starts to get sick too, and humans have it way harder to heal. He brings furret's berry to the nearby pokemon proffesor, analysis says it is contaminated by chemicals produced by companies that arrived to Johto recently, these factories also produce food for humans consumption. The powerful people behind them, calling themselves the J group, inserted themselves into the region years ago and creeped into positions of power, now with a firm grasp on society, their plan has begun. Their practices to control the populace ended up poisoning pokemon and people, berries contaminated by pesticides and human food by syrups and GMOs. The J group wants to reshape society in a way that has them at the top, while controlling everyone else to the point of what they eat. Imagine the plot as the videogame Pathologic (you try to save a village from an extremely deadly plague). user is not the only one trying to stop them, but here comes THE TWIST, the elite 4 are the body guards of this new elite, promised to live in luxury and safe from what falls on the lower classes. This is where Jasmine and Lyra come in. Lyra was on her journey to become regional champion, but there is no championship if she and everybody else dies from the poisoning. And gym trainers weren't considered strong enough to be hired by the J group. Most gym leaders cannot fight back, them and their pokemon sick. Jasmine is among the few that can, because steel is inmune to poison, though she, just like Lyra and user, are fighting against the clock. Together they will heal others along the way, fight the elite 4 and defeat the evil J group.

No need to explain like an autismo. You know where this is going

Okay so I only got the first 4 done so far but I need to get some sleep. I'm putting way more thought into this than any sane person should.

For my companions I've been mostly picking Characters of the Day from the anime with the except of Gen 3 where I picked Terrell and Marina from Battle Revolution because of their respective Groudon and Kyogre themes.

The reason I chose CotDs was because I was thinking about how these characters have entire lives that predate meeting Ash and continue after Ash parts ways with them and I like the idea of exploring those lives that Ash only caught a glimpse of. My idea is that my character is on a journey parallel to Ash's and within the same canon so he either meets his companions after Ash does or the companions run into Ash while they're having a brief solo adventure.

I'll do the next four if this thread is still up tomorrow.

Dang I like this one a lot.

Why?

I thought it was the same thread than the other day, but I see is a new one,

My twist is that is an isekai

I encounter the big dude shortly after my arrival in Alola, and we decide to travel together. I'll also fight Buzzwhole soon enough and thanks to the Tapus support I'll be able to catch him. But Guzma will only join us when we get to meet him in Po

I typed out a huge tl;dr autistic ramble about each pokemon's battle role and personality but it was too big to post and I don't feel like splitting it lole

Sydney is a great pick for companion and Hypno needs more love, it's not his fault he gets shoved into tons of depraved porn by degenerate artists ;_;
How does Bewear get to Hoenn?

this one's really good overall, would watch and I haven't seen any Pokemon anime since the indigo league

Three Ranger Academy dropouts go freelance and solve problems that the actual Pokemon Rangers pass over. The Pokemon Rangers aren't supposed to be a metaphor for cops or any social commentary shit; they simply can't solve every problem in Almia which is where the freelancers lend a hand.
We catch & battle pokemon like trainers because "the bad guys aren't going to always play by the rules so why should we?" and as long as we solve the case without blowing anything up or maiming anyone important we get to dodge any potential vigilantism charges.
The series would bounce between episodic problems of the week and multi-part evil team plots and introspective character episodes.

Pokemaniac is the feral retard who solves every problem by kicking someone's ass or biting something. He's actually really smart but he saw that the hyper meticulous bureaucracy of the Pokemon Rangers got in the way of extremely time-sensitive issues.

Cooltrainer is the calculating no nonsense stick-up-the ass who desperately wants to be noticed for her academic achievements. She has a learning disability and came a long way, but her efforts have always gone unnoticed until now. She knows a lot about pokemon temperment and medicine, but she struggled to memorize Ranger handbook rules or to learn the ins & outs of a capture styler.

For the sake of not being some cringe self-indulgent fantasy, my character would be a bog standard autismo Pokemon enthusiast for the autismo viewers to self-insert into; my character moments would always be open ended enough that the self-centered autismos and know-it-all video essayists can project themselves onto it or come up with whatever anime theory conclusion they want.
