run max HP and special attack, and use a coil set

use coil in conjunction with drain punch, iron tale, and ZAP CANNON

after one coil, the lad will be able to shirk off any heavy physical hits, iron tale will shit damage, drain punch to keep healthy (use tail on the fairys who keep you from d punching) and zap cannon becomes extremely obnoxious and really usefull utility

it's a fun set, pair it with a memento user to set up ezpz and wreak havoc

you can use giga drain if you're really afraid of bulky ground types, but after the coil, iron tale and d punch do really good damage so it's worth

plus, zap cannon is really strange, and there's not really any other mon who can use it outside of John Eel because of it's dogshit accuracy

in older games, you could get into a situation that warrants the attempt to roll for it, but nowadays you gotta go for consistency

t punch really is just mediocre, and mixed attackers are notoriously hard to handle in any generation

I get the gimmick but you're running Coil to sweep, paralyzing your opponent isn't important. After a Coil or two, Thunder Punch becomes stronger than Zap Cannon.
