The anime is never consistent
Nerd

Still gets lowered to 60 Sp. attack. Stop trying to defend shitnime

>Sp Attack dropped two stages = cut in half
>Mega raised it again by approximately 1.5
So it was an especially shitty base ~60 Draco Meteor.
I guess the blame falls on Iris for not overpowering it with literally any physical Dragon attack.

what lunatic runs the meteors on a megachomp

You're a fucking idiot. Pokemon battles are a lot like mixed martial arts. I've noticed this similarity. In MMA, you MUST have a diverse style. The best trainers have diverse moves. Garchomp has Draco meteors because Cynthia is a good trainer.

In the anime Dracometeor is stupidly op. Tobias even says Ash's gible could've one shot his Darkrai if it's Draco meteor actually landed

Honestly, the weirdest part of the whole deal is that Iris does not have her own Draco Meteor.
She's a Draco Meteor Tutor in BW1.

>Meta context
What works in the anime is "whatever it takes for dramatic storytelling". Like, wasn't there a trainer who trained his Sandslash to not be weak to water in a series of dramatic flashbacks?

>Literal context for autistics who can only take things literally
The anime canon has a different set of mechanics from the video game canon. The odds are decent that mega evolving resets any stat changes.

>what lunatic runs the meteors on a megachomp
anime DM is probably THE strongest move, period, outside of cover legendaries signature moves
And physical/special split doesnt seem to exist in the anime - its just damage

the real answer is that CYNTHIAAAAAA's GARCHOMP is too cool for stat drops

>Keeps using Dragon Pulse off a 60 Sp. Atk stat instead of a physical attack move which is Haxorus' specialty (147 Atk)
>Is surprised when it hardly does anything to Megachomp

How did Iris become a champion?

yes, but garchomp's speed drops below that of haxorus

> Trying to attach game mechanics to anime.
You all are fucking retarded.

MegaChomp was always a better mixed attacker than BaseChomp. Because of the increased bulk and reduced speed it doesn't need to rely on speed natures

Then why did the anime's Hyper Beam have a cooldown.
Retard.

Source?

rule 2 of megachomp
nobody expects a mixed/special megachomp
rule 1 is never use megachomp for anything but memes
yes 170 attack with chance of swords is cool, but it's just a ruse. 120 special attack against something that is not expected to take special hits hurts like a motherfucker, and garchomp's got a small but concise and very much functional special learnset.
and then they switch in their special wall and you unleash all of your 170 attack on it, which hurts like a motherfucker even uninvested.

Are you retarded OP? This is not helping your argument.

Recently, Lance vs Diantha.

She had a hidden white herb

>Ash with help can't stop a roar of time
>Cynthia stops a spatial rend on her own
Damn, Cynthia is gonna curbstomp Ash

This, megachomp hurts like a truck, even just using fireblast and d-meteor is enough to win a lot of matchups

literally the only reason you would EVER run megachomp is for its mixed attacking capabilities.

#
that's true but why the fuck would you run special mega garchomp? it has 170 attack + swords dance so why not use that?
