I'm not going to say the Masters 8 is complete ass but it's a big meh from me right now...

I don't know it just doesn't feel like the world's strongest trainers are battling and earlier seasons battles feel more impressive than this.

For being a tournament of the strongest trainers in the world, it certainly not great. It's not like they don't have plenty of money to make it better.

It is half assed. We already know that they were originally going to focus on Ash's battle, so there was never a huge investment in the PWC. Also Ash is spent as a MC. If this tournament had happened after DP, it would have more interest. But BW soft reboot killed Ash's momentum as a MC and has never really gotten back on track.
