When reading pokespe, one should focus mostly on the main characters and their relationship dynamics rather than the main story, if you want to enjoy the experience.
Pryce motivations and methods were retarded as hell, as time and time again the plot shows he could have achieved his goals in a less convoluted way had he just opened up. The more you go into GSC, the more you realize his fake team Rocket, all the kidnapping, the gym leader tournament, etc were all just filler for the final battle between Gold and his friends.
