Pokemon peaked in emerald.
There was just so much stuff to do,
and EV training required actual effort.

I didn't hate XY because it was new and the online features are still better than anything they ever pulled out to this date, but everything else after that was meh tier at best. Thankfully I'm not paying anymore so buyers remorse won't kick in again.
