zarude is a genuinely great design, and i absolutely fucking hate how they made him mythical. why? because he's a movie tie in from the kiddyshit anime.
it's literally got nothing mythical about it, it's dex entries even describe it as a natural species, and if it got treated as an actual pokemon rather than an advertisement then everybody would realize it's one of the only good things to come out of gen8

true it wasn't as bad back then because 1) they didn't waste a mythical slot on a reused concept and 2) Darumaka doesn't resemble a monkey and Darmanitan is barely an ape, plus it has the zen mode form

The only good legend is Mewtwo, and the only good mythic is Mew.
The worst thing gen 2 did was not make the birds and mew breedable. Fuck unique pokemon, mew isn't special other than that it was from some far off land and not native.
