It's been a bit, but..
Same basic plot, but the major plot differences is the creation of a dynamax serum by a professor used to dynamax fruits, vegetables, etc. when injected to end world hunger. Some foreign agent wants the serum for his own country's purposes. She, the assistant to the professor, catches him in the act of stealing it in the lab
She accidently gets inject by the serum in the struggle, too much of it even. Causing her to grow and rampage uncontrollably.
Rampaging through Motostoke, they manage to lead her into the stadium with her boyfriend where he tries to get through to her with his dynamax Golurk. The agent gets dispatched somewhere around there. I dunno, he clearly was just a plot device.
