It was simpler times, I ran through story mode with basically just Feraligatr and later Magcargo. Then endgame was just running SS Anne twice a week, the battle in Viridian City, the Elite 4, and Red at Mt Silver. I ran Mt Silver so many times, I ended up with these guys I'd cycle between. Didn't start a new game until something like 600 hours of playthrough.

I started with gold and know I had Feraligatr and Umbreon for sure.
Besides those 2, I'm pretty sure I also used the shiny Gyarados, maybe a Noctowl and a Furret. I probably used Ho-oh since I actually used legendries as a kid.

I never used legendaries after the first playthrough, and I almost always had Dugtrio+Jolteon in subsequent playthroughs.
Mewtwo & the birds were banned when people fought each other on the playground.

It was in Pokemon FireRed, I was like 6 years old and I didn't know about stone evolutions so I grinded my Gloom up to level 90 (before the Elite 4 btw) only to realise it doesn't evolve by levelling.

I think I already posted this years ago, but here I go again
Thanks to the animé I thought elemental stones are just a means to make your Pokemon evolve earlier and and make them lose their ability to learn new moves. And if you don't use stones they would eventually evolve naturally.
