I rate hgss 8/10
+fighting kanto gyms in any order was fun
+they fixed up some of the fucked Kanto dungeons
+you were able to get some rare/uncommon Pokemon early on back in the day thanks to the Pokewalker
-still has original G2's lousy mon variety and fucked level curve

It's far from perfect but it's a welcomed entry after the dogshit that was DPPt. BW 1&2 were great also but everything afterwards has been a steady decline. Even if you consider HGSS to be a 2/10 it's still better than what's getting cranked out now.
