I have a house worth 3/4 million and another 1/4 mil of crypto and cash. I don't feel rich either, feel worse off than before I bought this house. Like I have to make it all over again. Especially because the house is extremely illiquid and I'd lose money if I try to get out of it, which I don't want to, but still.
I work for a bank. Quite frankly, 99% of the wealthy people I come across own businesses rather than work.
The one's who do work are mostly older, and are either doctors or lawyers, or really high up in multinationals.
1 mill pre-tax and I said “soonish”. I make 700k pre tax this year which is not even 400k post- tax / post social security healthcare etc. I pay a mortgage for the 1.2 mill apartment I bought, so 100k goes there per year. I have a gf and a car, so it is about 150k - 200k which I put into crypto right now per year. Maybe next year I can put 300k into crypto.
Still, rich people are other people. Those who inherit houses. I know this girl who inherited 2 apartments and a large rented out house, she is prob worth 10 mill and she is set for life.
