I unironically enjoy all the pokemon games except gen 1 and 2 and thats only because i started with gen 3 so the graphics of gen 1 and 2 are a touch to basic for me
Kinda like how I cant every enjoy a n64 game (except mario 64 that looks ... sorta alright) because I started with wii
each game has good things and bad things, some more than others, but gen 3-8 have all passed my enjoyment threshhold

My vote goes to ditto: it's simple and cute, it's gen 1 so the people that bitch that "anything past gen _ isn't even pokemon anymore" have no argument, its very useful for breeding if you're into competitive or shiny hunting or even just filling out a living dex, its transform gimmick is unique so it doesn't just get swept away with the other similar mons the way regional bugs/birds/mammals etc do, and it's not powerful enough to get a bunch of hate for being overused but isn't complete trash either.
